What a waste of money, honestly I don't agree with the way BAPS waste donations and money. Wasting money by building temples, organizing expensive events, etc is not a productive approach at all. Many villages in India don't have enough drinking water, no roads, no electricity, no schools for children, no colleges, no hospitals - these money should be used for such productive ways - many are illiterate, why not give them basic literacy by diverting these funding. I am unable to parse your statements. To my mind, it's a simple concept the hindu community needed a temple, so they build one. The temple serves their need of being a place where folks in the community can perform their rituals. In addition, it also serves as a center where they can keep their culture alive. We have done the same in our community in US. Now coming to infrastructure, it's the job of the govt to provided these basic facilities.

The people who donated time and money wanted stuff in their own community not some village in India (Selfish yes, but can you argue against this brand of selfishness). I am unable to parse your statements. To my mind, it's a simple concept the hindu community needed a temple, so they build one. The temple serves their need of being a place where folks in the community can perform their rituals. In addition, it also serves as a center where they can keep their culture alive. We have done the same in our community in US. Now coming to infrastructure, it's the job of the govt to provided these basic facilities.

Waste of Indian money in a foreign land while millions and millions of dravidians are in ruins. Are you racial. Please don't defame St. Mother Teresa she did not stand for what you did in a foreign land. She was darling of the poor, meek and the vulnerable Indians back home. A great tribute to Mother Teresa would be to use the fund for her cause back in India our motherland.

Well.. After building temple how many of us donating back home to build infrastructure needed for everybody including us when we visit India? Every of us wish India to be developed over night (wish won't bring anything, only actions will) but no body want to contribute or part of that development, many NRIs miss India so why not build India we wish (not just dream but act on it) so after some years when we want India the way we wished, we won't have to miss it anymore and we all will (continue)

I agree but also side with the sentiments of the people that help build the temple. The people who donated time and money wanted stuff in their own community not some village in India (Selfish yes, but can you argue against this brand of selfishness). Not very different from a family who would rather have 3 cars in a 3 person household than donate some money to education or some other worthwhile cause.

I am disappointed with these temples - they are more like Palaces - palaces fit for Kings. Real Temples of God are Libraries, colleges, books, good works, helping others - God's real place is in our hearts. I wish some of the money that was spent on building this temple could have gone to build libraries or schools in poorer parts of India or even England
