FWC opened a season on them where you apply for a tag. If chosen you pay a fee and are eligible to harvest a goliath grouper within the regulations. The two boys on this show were drawn to receive tags and as long as the angler who possesses the tag catches the fish, they can keep it. There's a slot and you are required to use the FWC tagging system along with clipping the fin for them to research and find out more about goliath grouper populations. That kid was extremely fortunate to not only get selected for a tag but to catch a sawfish as well! Such a beautiful fish!
