It's year 2024 and Whirlpool is still making glue-sealed drums in order to prevent customers and independent traders from replacing bearings? That's a shameful display.

I couldn't agree more. Some manufacturers have built a strong brand name over generations, and people were happy with the quality back then. But then they switch tactics. Sealed drums and other components with built-in obsolescence force you to buy a new machine. Take Whirlpool, for example. They control a significant portion of the market, owning Hotpoint and Indesit. It's a numbers game for them. The average person walks into a superstore vowing never to buy Whirlpool again. However, unaware of the industry structure, they choose Indesit or Hotpoint, unwittingly playing into Whirlpool's hands. There are even rumors of Beko acquiring the entire group. Here's hoping they take a different approach.
It's important to note that other brands are guilty of these tactics as well. Bosch built their reputation in the 90s and early 2000s with quality machines. Now, in the last decade, they've adopted sealed drums too. They also own Siemens and Neff, along with other European brands. One can't help but wonder if these companies hold annual meetings to discuss how to make consumerism trendy, all at the expense of the consumer and the environment.
In a previous video, I praised LG for changing their business practices. There's also a new English manufacturer offering seven-year warranties on their machines. However, these are new players in the European market. It remains to be seen if they'll maintain their integrity once established.

You saved my day as I own the FSCR 10432 since 2015 with a new water filter alarm. I would have never opened it without your video. I could then dismantle the pumps (3 screws for each of them) and I discovered some kind of teflon tape blocked into the drain pump axis. I love your videos, very teaching, clear phrasing, good tips and a lot of effort in the editing. The video about the way to clean the seal is very instructive. Thank you!
Note: I still own my very first washing machine bought in 1999/2000 - a very basic Candy (french brand I think), on which I've never change a single part. It was our main washing machine before we bought the 10Kg Whirlpool. I'm now thinking that I should open it and change the belt, the pumps and maybe the bearing if it is still possible (parts availability).

Great video - thank you! Used this to replace our FSCR12430 drum seal. Our detergent drawer has also been leaking for some time, even though the machine is dead level.

    Great video mate!
My Samsung WF1124XAU 12KG washing machine purchased in Oct 2013 has died. No power even after fuse changed and trying a different plug. I think it's the main PCB or inverter.

The drawer leaking is common on these, not to do with it being unlevel just a design fault

Thank you for the information. I've worked on about half a dozen of these and I'd always notice the front panels rusting but didn't realise it was a design floor. Thank you for the information. Any other gems of knowledge like this? I've always appreciated for other people to read. Thanks, Paul 👍 directly

I agree the front body panel of mine is full of rust below the soap box, and on the lower part below the door. All the three screws that fix the panel on the bottom are full of rust, even the one on the top right is a bit rusty...
Is there a fix for this design flow? Do you think that the body panel is available as a spare part?
If not, I should probably remove it and put a rust treatment, protect it and paint...

Our soap box (removed at 11:11 in the video) was clogged with limescale/calcium deposits. It contains a tray which channels the water to the various areas of the soap dispenser. Whole unit came apart and we cleaned with Limelite - water is now routing properly and no more leaks! We live in a hard water area and use Calgon tabs, but these go into the soap dispenser, so too late in the flow!
