    Just the answer I was looking for as my supplier suggested this type of ‘oven’ as my backup oven which also includes a microwave. I knew it wasn’t what I was looking for and your video just confirmed it-thank you!

    Very useful, we have just had installed (in an apartment in Italy) an Electrolux, 'multifunction oven with compact microwave', model KVLBE08X. Only seen the oven online, so your information is very helpful. I'm now more confident that we have an oven with a microwave function but primarily it's an oven.

    can the microwave be used with the metal shelves in place? Or do they need to be removed first?

    • @RH-nk7eo
      @RH-nk7eo 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are designed to work with the shelves they come with. No issues with the metal like you would get in a normal microwave.

      I’ve used stainless in my microwave no problem. So I assume the shelves are stainless steel.

      @@RH-nk7eo metal is microwave safe in all microwaves as long as it's round with no sharp edges.

    Blimey you're good! I'm in the process of getting a new kitchen designed and the company I'm using don't seem to know about these. At least now i can do a bit of research for them! I'm watching all your other videos and you make such good sense! Love it!! Thank you.

    Thanks for this great channel- really helpful. Having recently downsized and there are now just the 2 of us, I am keen to buy a built combination oven in my new kitchen as the only oven. Bosch do a 67cm capacity oven with 20 different methods of cooking as do other manufacturers. I don't want to duplicate functions by buying a single built in oven too. Please note due to dietary requirements roast turkeys at Xmas are a thing of the past! Are these combination ovens the way forward now for a smaller household?

    • @TheKitchenDesignExperts
      @TheKitchenDesignExperts  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes definitely the way forward for people in your circumstances. The only thing you lose is flexibility. You have to plan your cooking a bit more. You may have 2 items that need different temperatures. Discussing this with our clients we sometimes suggest a warming drawer in addition to the combi oven. That way you can cook your chicken at 180 degrees bob it in the warmer or let it “rest” then cook your roasties at 230 degrees. Glad you like our channel!

    Very helpful thank you - do you know if there are any combination ovens where you don't have to remove the runners to use the microwave? Thanks

    • @TheKitchenDesignExperts
      @TheKitchenDesignExperts  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That is puzzling me. Nearly all true combi ovens can be used as a microwave without removing the runners. The solid tray is the only item to remove. The wire rack is also ok to keep in the oven

    I have just had a new kitchen and had a Neff slide and hide oven and a combination microwave oven. I am so upset to find the boasted 900 watt can only be used for heating liquids and the microwave is in fact only 600 watt or lower. All the suppliers online list it as being a 900 watt microwave and I have seen demonstrations online saying how good it is but to me it’s over £700 of money wasted.

    • @TheKitchenDesignExperts
      @TheKitchenDesignExperts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. I’m really sorry to hear that. It looks like you have done all,the initial research you could but have still been disappointed. Which Neff model are you referring to? If it being marketed as 900w and it isn’t you may have some hope that BSH (Neff) will sort something out for you

    • @monalisa-xe6wm
      @monalisa-xe6wm ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s the CIAM84NOB . Even if they offered to change it ( unlikely) my expensive kitchen would be ruined for me, as I bought it to match my slide and hide oven. The reviews were good, but I cannot see how other buyers think it is good microwave, I knew right away that there was no way this was 900 watt . The irony is I was going to have a table top one but was persuaded by how good they look.

      Your experience is identical and equally disappointing as ours. We also bought a Neff Combi oven, which says it goes up to 900W but actually its highest setting is 600W with a boost function, which you only find out when you've got it is only for heating liquids. Everything we've tried cooking in it takes heaps longer than our old cheapo microwave, even if you resort to using the Boost, and in my opinion , completely defeats the 'speed' rationale for using a microwave in the first place. I feel strongly that this product is badly misrepresented in the sales literature, and does not perform as a microwave as one would reasonably expect it to.

      Most of the better makes should do them. As an example. Bosch CMG633BS1B is a full combination oven

    Greetings from Greece and thank you for this video! You saved me a ton of trouble with this information! Just out of curiosity tho, how can the combination microwave work with the metal rack shelves inside? Isn't it a hazard to microwave with any sort of metal in it?

    • @TheKitchenDesignExperts
      @TheKitchenDesignExperts  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hello Greece! Great question. When using the microwave, on it's own, then you must remove the metal shelves as usually you are using the microwave above 700w. When it is in combi mode, along with the oven function, the microwave is restricted to 600w and at this level it is ok to have metal trays in the oven. Hope this helps.

      Hello Canada. Thanks for watching and for your comments. Our kitchen furniture is German and is called Schuller. I have to say that virtually all the German kitchen furniture is of a high standard and very designable. I know some of them export to the States not sure about Canada though. Perhaps Google German kitchens and see what comes up.

    Can you please explain how best to locate a dishwasher, bin and sink! It’s driving me crazy

    • @TheKitchenDesignExperts
      @TheKitchenDesignExperts  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That’s a great question and there are some basic guidelines that may help. The answer to your question has to be related to your preparation space. As you Amy have seen in other videos I am a great believer in having your prep space between the sink bowl and the hob. So, first of all identify your prep area and then make sure the dishwasher isn’t under this area. When you are peeling carrots you don’t want other people pushing in front of you to get a cup out of the dishwasher. So make sure the dishwasher is away from the prep area. However, it is useful to have your bin under the prep space as this is where much of the rubbish accumulates. Hope this helps.

    This is important information. Don't buy a z line. Spend extra and purchase a German model. These cost $$$ but don't go cheap. You've been warned.
