The biggest difference is there's no endemic drug problem in Japan. Alcohol in Japan is the same price as soft drinks/Coca cola/Soda pop. Hard drugs turn people into crazed animals ☹️
Crazy that your content is not popular yet. Keep it up, im gonna always comment your videos to get the algorithm going. Ps: I love the fact that you speak slowly and spell words clearly, is very useful for people like me to learn japanese
a lot of people in the comments complaining that the slums he showed in Japan are not slums lol. you need to understand that this is considered slum to them. yes, it's different from your countries, but it's their slum. appreciate the difference, don't get defensive. just because you're poor and homeless doesn't mean you have to do drugs or be dirty. there are homeless people sleeping in makeshift tents and cardboard boxes in Japan. but they're not lazy or dirty like the typical image we have of a homeless person. they'd tidy up their areas first thing in the morning and then go to work or school or hangout. they'll pull out their boxes and find a place to sleep late in the night when there's no one around. that's why you rarely see them. they don't hang around on the streets looking like zombies in broad daylight like in your countries. they're almost invincible. but these days I heard there's a rise in runaway teenagers being homeless and living on the street, which has become quite a problem in Japan especially Tokyo.
wow!!japan is really clean place..if it is a place for homeless people, its still clean and also they supported by their goverment, and still they are not abondoned.their slum area is different in other slum area in differebt countries.
They work. If course they work, it's Japan. Our Homeless in Minneapolis pan handle in the grocery store parking lot near a fast food restaurant that starts pay at $17 hour plus meals & uniforms & can't find enough employees. Cultural differences.
Thing is, in the USA if you go to jail, that’s a death sentence for jobs. So even if someone applied with a record, they would get turned down if the restaurant had a strict background check. My friend tried to get a job for 7 years with a record and only managed to work at Walmart then fired in a year because they went to a funeral (which was approved by their boss.) So you can’t put everyone in the same boat .
Sometimes people fall on hard times. That area is very clean. You should see american slums where the police do not go in unless heavily armed and for short times only.
They are still thoughtful to keep their surrounding area clean & tidy. Being clean & tidy are naturally in-built DNA in Japanese society. OCD people would love Japan because their society care about cleanliness and things being in order which translate into a clean, neat & nicer environment
I learned a lot from your fine video . Due to the high costs of living there are more and more homeless people all around the world my friends . The work place also has become more automated , leading to not needing to higher people to do the work . Companies face higher costs every year and this leads them to replace us all at the drop of a hat in order to meet the customers need in away to remain completive and pay investors . Today they are the homeless , but the next day it could be anyone of us living a life that we did not plan for .
If you have an old Android phone or tablet, there's tonnes of great free Japanese Language apps. If you run the phone/tablet in Airplane mode after you've installed the apps the battery will last 5x longer and there'll be no ads to bother you either. My young son is learning Japanese and Maths on a 10yo Samsung Tablet I got from a Charity shop for $20. Even an old device can be very useful as long as it runs Android 5 or better. Watching NHK World on TH-cam is also helpful for general knowledge about Japan. I hope this is helpful to you 👍
Just curious, why is it so quiet, not many people walking around. Thanks for show-casing this district, but it doesn't seem like a homeless area at all.
aside from the assistance they received, usually homeless people in Japan who actually sleep on the street would tidy up their sleeping area, keep their boxes and stuff away early in the morning before the rush hour. then they'll go to work. that's why you don't see tents and whatnot. at most, you'd see the cans they collected like the ojiisans in the video. but even that, it's still very tidy and clean.
It's very sad that these older Men don't have families to look after them ☹️ It's so typical though, that even the slums in Japan are tidy and well organized 🥹 The government needs to pay more attention to cheap housing and services for the poor, elderly, ill and disabled. Thank you for making this video to highlight the difficulties these people are facing...
Great video, am disabled and looking to rent a place like that in Japan, do you know of a website or listing that I can get an affordable apartment in Japan, again amazing video, thanks for the help 🎉🎉❤❤
It is wrong to call the area as slum. People may me labourers. Here the poor receive all sort of social grants, area is extraordinary neat and well maintained, cannot, and I repeat, be called a slum. Thanks for the video. Regards from Oman, 18.5.2024
Happens all around the world, even in Europe nowadays. Lots of "cheap", vacant housing in the remote areas. But since most if not all services have left as well, living in such far away regions becomes a hassle of its own, especially without a car of your own.
An American female blogger showed us the real slums in Japan near the river. Sad situation because if it gets typhoon their slum houses surely get wipe out. Maybe, you have not really gone to those real slums. The American blogger able to capture the huypocricy of the Japanese government ang their in human treatment of their citizens. Maybe you should watch her account in TH-cam because you failed by comparison. You simply do not want the world to know how Japanese government failed to attend their senior homeless citizens.
The guy walks straight and stable, speaks and articulates clearly, and makes videos in the middle of the day. What on Earth makes you accuse him of being "drunk"?? You should be taught some manners.
Your “slum” area is very clean. I wish we have an area like that in California especially for the veterans.
The biggest difference is there's no endemic drug problem in Japan.
Alcohol in Japan is the same price as soft drinks/Coca cola/Soda pop.
Hard drugs turn people into crazed animals ☹️
they dont have 3rd worlders coming in millions or useless arabs , very lucky
Yes very clean
And their is no Zombies roaming around
It's the people who should work for themselves to be clean first 😅
I like the way you speak Japanese. It's very easy to understand and pick out words to learn.
That is hardly a “slum” when you compare it to the real slums in India and the Skid Row in Los Angeles
This is a palace …. Japanese people have never experienced multicultural crime and are in a lil racist bubble
Youre comparing asians to animals

それでも平和なんですよね
That is a slum?!?! It looks so clean compared to Some cities in the USA. The homeless are so well behaved and organized. I a, impressed.
PHILADELPHIA THE LAND OF THE WALKING DEAD ZOMBIES...
My absolute favorite „walking through japan“ account. Keep it going, your work will be worth it!
Even a slum in Japan looks 100x better than slums here in U.S. Our slums looked like 3rd world country here lol.
And thousand zombies and walking Dead😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@DavidSumeg-angDavidand that's amusing how?

Absulotly not, the police were afraid of the WALKING DEAD ZOMBIES ROAMING AROUND😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
it is look like a luxury hotel in india and in LA town down
It looks very clean . Thanks for the tip if I want to visit Japan
For cheap hotels and restaurants in Tokyo.

There are plenty of the blue tents on the moat area of Osaka Castle. You will see them if you take a boat trip around the castle
Just curious, why is it so quiet, not many people walking around. Thanks for show-casing this district, but it doesn't seem like a homeless area at all.
Because this is Japan. That's all you need to know.

japan is really a good country.thats because of their tradational.
Your slum is so clean.
Compare to another country😆
Actually, these “slums” are like Beverly Hills compared with those from other parts around the world.
Hahaha👺
Awe your channel brow.
It looks clean as a slum but looks so lonely. Where are the people and shops..looks sad😢.
Not many there are now..
For a slum it looks clean
5:55 min I saw that Ghibli house from my hotel few years back and was wondering if its abandoned or haunted 😂

Your slums is better than here in CA
Hahaha👺
How ridiculous that there are people living on the streets, when Japan is full of abandoned houses and even entire abandoned towns.
Happens all around the world, even in Europe nowadays.

生活保護とか申請できない(してない)ようにみえるけど戸籍とかないのかな、こういう人たち。
数十年前に比べて明らかにホームレス減りましたよね。高架下とかもそうですけど。
It doesn’t look like a slum at all
Parang di nman slum ang linis eh
Congratulations to the park department for the landscaping beautifying a slum is a thankless task like putting lipstick on a pig.
I prefer these slum over CA slums any day.

Why would there be homeless. They can get welfare from the state
most of them are taiwanese
