I thought the Viennese architecture was fascinating, every building with it's own unique appeal. The mix of modern buildings are just indicators of the diverse and inevitable changes most modern cities undergo. I don't think they diminish the beauty of the older buildings at all. Entering the inner city, one sees the older buildings first, so the essence of Vienna's past will always greet visitors first.🙂

I visited the city on many occasions, it is a very beautiful city with impressive old architecture and monuments. Lucky Austrians, the city was preserved,, our beautiful Warsaw was bombarded to the ground during World War II, it had to be rebuilt "brick by brick."
A lot was bombarded too. But like the Polish we rebuilt a lot of the destroyed buildings or were just very good in blending newer ones in. Like, you don't pay attention to how many newer houses are actually located at Stephansplatz until you look closely.
@@susn1987 You’re talking a lot of nonsense, the damage done to Warsaw and Berlin can’t even be nearly compared to Vienna‘s bombings. Berlin and Warsaw got bombed to ashes and then were occupied by the Soviet Union which made it impossible to rebuild the city in an old architecture style. That’s why there are so many communist buildings in these cities. Austria was the only country that would’ve deserved all the bombings.

I visited the whole Vienna and even some nice places of Austria few years back and aII I can say is WoW... I was really amazed since it was a really beautiful, lovely and stunning pIace, I want to return and planning to come back to Austria soon! Best Place! 😉💗👍
Definitely the "most elegant" I would say, it is the epitome of a European city. When it comes to the most beautiful city, well, its a tough competition there - Barcelona, Rome, Budapest....and that's just in Europe ;)

Its called the Stephansdom, not „Stephanzplatz Kirche“. Stephansplatz, is the place in front of the church, but in german it’s called a „Dom“ instead of a „Kirche“, as it is much bigger than a regular church.

Wien ist für mich die schönste Stadt Europas im Verbund mit Budapest.Man spürt noch den Charme der guten alten Zeit.Die Archtektur ist wunderschön,gerade im 1.Bezirk.Das Schloss Schönbrunn und das obere und untere Belvedere muss man gesehen haben.Die vielen Cafe'- Häuser wie man sie nur in Wien findet sollte man unbedingt einmal besuchen.Auch die Donauinsel mit dem Donauturm sollte man besichtigen. It brought back personal memories of my student year in Vinnea, almost 50 years ago., Certainly the city has changed with more tourism and tourist promenades, but much of the city’s architecture has remained in the traditional style, outside the retails zones. Still all very nice. I lived in Vienna for a year as a music student from 1971-1972. One of the best years of my life__seeing over 50 operas and 50 concerts in this year=-all standing room. If you can travel and study in Vienna , you will also learn the culture and some of the language. It is a wonderful city for music and art and museums and concerthauses. Thanks for highlighting the architectures of some of the buildings. My last visit was 2010 for my Setpson’s wedding in L’viv ukrainine. Vienna is a beatufiufl city. Stay and live a while. Learn the language. See and hear art and music culture (opera, concerts,, pop concerts, have a wurst, have a coffee, Study music hard. WOrk hard. Practice hard. Perform hard., Vienna, the city of MUSIC.

It’s a lovely city. I have been there several times. Great architecture, music and history. A really must thing to do is a visit to a traditional Viennese coffee house for good coffee and an indulgent cake or pastry but not hurried, that would simply not be how they do it in Vienna.
Vienna is a beautiful city and so clean. I think it is even prettier than Paries. I loved the tour but wish there had been some information given as to what we were seeing.

The mix of modern buildings is due to Allied bombings during WW2. No indicators of “diverse and inevitable changes“.
