We didn't even have real maps in our class, how could anyone understand the movement of troops and so on without visualising it..?

What I really liked about this video was how you really spoke about it as a WORLD war. Too often I feel as though general summaries of the world wars oversimplify it to the point where they only talk about the european countries involved. It really did involve and affect a huge percentage of the world and I appreciate how you at least BROUGHT UP the african combatants.

Oh wait, I agreed to give that to the French along with Lebanon. I would offer you part of Turkey, but hmmm, checking my cheat sheet, yes, that got promised to, Greece and Italy (really? I guess I did say that). I could give you a little piece of toasted sand just east of the Jordan River, but you have to be nice to the Europeanized twits I send you to govern it. the triple entente was an alliance that had a very clear agreement regarding the balkans, in fact both austria and italy had interests in the balkans and the pact obliged the country that started a war in the balkans to have the consent of the other allies ... when Austria declared war on Serbia it asked Germany, but not Italy... Italy considered this not only a violation of the pact that freed Italy from all obligations, but also a reason for resentment in comparisons with them! therefore Italy not only changed sides with a valid reason... but also had valid reasons to later go to war against Austria!

I believe that if the war crossed over into Switzerland that the Swiss would have had no choice but to get involved. Switzerland was very lucky. The Axis powers had no intention of respecting Belgium or Luxembourg that said they would remain neutral, and I believe that they would have gone into Switzerland if it meant easier access to France.
Switzerland participated in helping wounded World War I soldiers. I believe they helped both sides with this. And I think that the Swiss would have jumped into the ranks of the allies had the Axis powers invaded... which I believe was going to happen at one point?

Germany was the new upstart threatening the supremacy of the existing superpowers and empire builders.

Nothing about southern front which determent the war. He literally said nothing about it except that Bulgaria attacked Serbs from back and that caused Serbs retreat. By his explanation you can understand that Austria Hungary declared war on Serbs and then fought France 🤣 video is dumb as any short explanation of anything on TH-cam.

When he heard that, the sword fell down from his hand. When he was returning home, he was living in a village and a she dog with two puppies big as her, meet him at the border of village territory. She was very happy and welcomed him as good as she could, but the puppies did not knew him because they were born after he went to war. So, they were barking at him and were angry with him, but their mum the she dog stopped them and bite them. When Grandpa saw that even a dog was waiting for his master, and is so happy when he returned, his eyes were in tears, because many which were waited of their lovers will never return.

The war didn't start on the Western front, it started with an Austro-Hungarian attack on Serbia, if you are going to talk about the Schlieffen Plan, then before that talk about the first Allied victory of the war (Battle of mountain Cer). Then when you talk about German collapse, it didn't happen on the Western front, it happens after the breakthrough of the Salonica Front (Thessaloniki), de facto destroying Bulgarian and Austro-Hungarian armies capacities, prompting Germany to negotiate an armistice!

It is not even mentioned that entente countries couldn't invade Istanbul during the war and that's why they couldn't send supply to the Tsardom of Russia which resulted with the success of communist revolt in Russia. Some key pieces of information are missing here. Since I am from Serbia, I am going to share some interesting and important thinga here. If you would like to know more about Serbian involvement in the war, and trust me, Serbian contribution was enormous in the beginning of the war and also in ending the war, then continue reading.
Austria-Hungary issued an ultimatum to Serbia before starting the war, basically wanting to occupy Serbia, knewing that Serbia cannot accept that, so they can have an excuse to start a war. But Austria-Hungary planned to expand its territories on the Serbian detriment long before the Austrian heir to the throne Ferdinand was assasinated in Sarajevo. They just used it as an excuse. Austrian annexing of Bosnia was basically the start of the war.
Serbia wasn't attacked from 2 sides, but 3. The countries that Serbia fought alone are Croatia (surprise, surprise, I know) under Austria-Hungarian rule), Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Albania (later). When AH first attacked Serbia, Serbs were beating them with ease in several occasions and that made AH plans to fall apart, as they were expecting a fast victory in the Balkans, so they can proceed to strenghhen their forces on the eastern front against Russia. Since AH alone couldn't beat Serbia, German emperor Wilhelm II was pissed and refused to send help, as Germany was fighting against France, England and Belgium on the west and Russia on the east (plus they had troops in Africa). So AH decided to call Bulgaria into action. Bulgaria joined the war and attacked Serbia from behind (that's actually something Bulgaria is known for when it comes to stabbing Serbia in the back, we even have some sayings and jokes about that here in Serbia). Since Allied forces didn't want to help Serbia and weaken their own army, they all basically flushed Serbia down the toilet. It was like "you bought us some precious time, thanks for that, nobody was expecting that you are going to beat AH and prolong the front on thr Balkans, so thank you, but now you are on your own". France even sent the wrong ammunition caliber for Serbian rifles and cannons, so basically Serbia couldn't even defend anymore, so Serbian king decided that it's best to abandon the country and head towards Montenegro and Albania, so Serbian army can recover properly in Greece and prepare for the liberation. But Albanians also started to shoot and kill weak Serbian people and soldiers. The temperatures were freezing below the zero, thousands and thiusands of people died from cold, famine, typhus, when they stopped to rest and froze to death, etc. And Albanians only worsened the total death toll by killing weak, wounded, starving people.
But that's not all. Even after walking for hundreds of kilometers on foot, and surviving cold, typhus, famine and Albanian surgents, after Serbs reached their destination on the shore, Allied ships didn't want to pick them up and transport to Greek islands because of the typhus. So Serbs were forced to walk another few hundred kilometers to be picked up by French ships. And when they arrived there, Allied ships still refused to pick them up, basically letting them all to die. That's when Russian tsar Nicholas Romanov issued an ultimatum to France, saying that if French ships don't pick up Serbian solders and civilians, Russia will sign a separate peace with Germany and France would get overrun. Only then France agreed to help and transport the Serbs to Greece. And then some people wonder why Serbs love Russia so much. Even though we had some disagreementa with Russia in the past, like when they backed Bulgaria instead of Serbia in the Balkan wars, that reason alone is enough for us to be eternally grateful to our Russian orthodox brothers.
Fast forward to 1918, when the Serbian army recovered in Greek islands, they headed right back to join the Salonica/Macedonian front, liberate Serbia and win the war. Fun fact: Salonica front was created to help Serbia in the beginning of the war, but the expedition came too late when jt eas all over for Serbia, so Allied forces left some od their soldiers there. In 1918, in the eyes of everyone involved, Salonica front was the last front anyone expected to have a crucial significance in winning the war. Well, in the eyes of everyone except in the eyes of Serbia. When Serbia joined the front, they felt rejuvinated and eager to free their homeland. They disregarded the command of the French general Franchet d'Esperey and stormed the front, forcing the Bulgarians to retreat. In the wake of the Serbian storm, scared and confused Bulgarian soldiers were shouting: "Run if you are alive, here come the dead.", since everyone believed that Serbian army is non-exiatent after the 1915 and their retreat. Soon after Bulgaria capitulated and there was nothing that could stop the advances of the Serbian army. In only 45 days, Serbian army marched 600 kilometers, fighting the enemy along the way while marching 17 hours a day. Not even the French cavalry could keep pace with the Serbian soldiers going on foot. German emperor Wilhelm II was so furious, he couldn't believe that some small Serbia that was basically non-existent can win the war and force 700.000 soldiers of the Central Powers to retreat, surrender or die. He wrote a letter to Bulgarian monarch Ferdinand I in which he wrote: "A Serbian army of 62.000 soldiers decided the war. Embarassing."
After Serbia liberated the capital of Belgrade, Italy wanted to take over some territories that were previously under AH rule (modern day Croatia). Basically, that was the only reason Italy stopped being neutral and joined the Allias (Italy previously signed a pact with Germany and AH), so they can take new territories in Dalmatia. Since Croats were unable to defend those territories, they asked for help from Serbia. Serbs, still wounded, not even recovered properly, came to Dalmatia to stop prevent the Italians from taking over those cities. And how did Croats thanked Serbia? By killling around 700.000 Serbs in the WWII, by having the first and only ever recorded concentration camp for children in the history of warfare and by starting a war and breaking down Yugoslavia in the 1990s. Less than 30 years after World War I was over, Germany once again started a war, bombing the Serbia in the early morning, because Serbs didn't want to join him, so Germany choose Croatia instead. Hitler was welcomed in Croatian capital of Zagreb with flowers as a hero, he had a parade, he was celebrated. While Serbia lost around 1.500.000 of its population in WWI (more than 1/3 of total population before the war and around 60% of total male population), and

That sound like extreme nationalistic propaganda. And also very oblivious of the realities of the time, how would France or Russia send help hundreds of kilometers away when themselves were falling back across the line. Not saying that Serbia's performance in the war was not amazing but attributing the success of the Macedonian front to Serbia seems like a stretch at best, they were only one out of 5 nations present there and neither the most numerous nor the most well armed.
OH a'd Croatia was not a country at the time, just a part of AH
