It was just explained to me yesterday buy a devout Protestant that fasting is to be done as like an immersion into praying much more that day, focusing on God so that the desire for food is not so much on the radar, and of spiritual food... I know Catholics have also explained it well, but not really raised w the emphasis on fasting, it 's still a bit of a mystery to me...

I abstain from meat every Friday eat eat very little. All fasting is done in proportion and in balance with your life. Spiritual reading and holy communion is huge for us Catholics to be in connection with God and it represses the appetite.

And yet, we must welcome the chance to be martyred, and show our love for Christ in our denial of our flesh. If we pray in Latin ONLY to avoid persecution - which seems to run counter to current trends anyway, as Latin is being openly challenged by the Vatican - then we are invoking Latin for all the wrong reasons. We must bravely face down the evils of this world and confidently proclaim God’s truth, in any language, even if it leads to the death of the body, we will surely gain everlasting spiritual life. Amen.

Father's conversion is an example of God "writing straight with crooked lines". As much as Catholics don't want to hear it, it must be repeated the Divine Mercy "revelation' Sister Faustina were on the index of forbidden books. There passages in this work that simple don't comply with Catholic doctrine. Be careful what you read and what you attribute as the object that obtained grace.

On page 176, “Jesus” says to her: “You are a sweet grape and a chosen cluster; I want others to have a share in the juice that is flowing within you.” This next one is impossible. But their Sinful live style can infect your purity. Only If they need help with their Sinful ways you can do what Jesus did. To try to heal themselves from their sufferings and pushing them to the right direction by using the words of God

Present the Gospel of Jesus' death, burial and resurrection, inviting them to repent and be baptized and join you in mass, meeting with the priest, etc. Let them know you are willing to be there for them, if they need someone to talk to/pray with, but you were bought with a price and are now sanctified unto the Lord, no longer your own and have to seek to please Him which means not participating in many common worldly imbibements. Just being honest about this stuff with someone can be a source of conviction for the Holy Spirit to work through.

Personally I continute to keep contact with those friends, but never compromise the activities we do (for example I'm not going to go to a party or eat pizza on Fridays or similar) and they know it. But I try showing them love and interest in a way God does, even though I fail often by being impatient. And when you show love for people, they feel it and begin to ask where does that love come from. Also, staying true to our morals. "Yes, what you're doing IS a sin and wrong", when asked, even if they get offended. But with gentleness. But if I see some company is genuinely stealing my peace or making me not so stable, I avoid going there or if I have to go I try to be absent spiritually😂😂praying while they talk and making reparations for cuss words, blasphemy and similar. Just having deep conversations one on one helps people to gain trust, and some of them will at least start respecting the faith and that's a start.

I have a hard time believing in the divine mercy prayer and the authenticity of sister faustina. Her diary book was on the shelves of unforbidden books, put there by a few popes before modernism set in and the stories that I have read in it about the Holy Eucharistic flying out of the tabernacle 3 times, landing in her "hands" was very appalling to me. There's more I could get into about what she said happened, but that example is enough for me not to believe, plus....we are not obligated to believe in her private miracles.

Just as the sun does not rise by your own power, neither will your conversion come by your own power. Humble yourself, and ask God for the grace of repentance, conversion, virtue to overcome your vices, and renounce all evil spirits and forms of the occult, which are demons who laugh at you as they decieve you. Ask, and all these things will be given to you brother. Each day you live, whether you do good or sin, it is only given to you by the grace of God. Do not insult the author of the universe by saying he is unable to transform you from the most miserable of sinners to the most glorious of saints -- that is his primary business. "I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance." Do not waste your time converting to anything but traditional Catholicism. The Catholic Church is THE Church established by Jesus Christ through his apostles. Just as Saint Peter's stands upon the tomb of Peter this very day, Christ said "You are Peter, the rock, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." All of heaven waits in eager expectation for your conversion Chris. The life you were destined for is waiting. Godspeed friend.
