I have to admit, shockenaugh is a pretty solid commander. The firebeam conversion is great when one needs a laser, but also great for protecting nukes. The energy disabling is really strong against laser and nuke builds that are always hungry.
Competitive Forts is definitely a viable e-sport. Small and discrete, but damn those shots are amazing !
I tried that already, the community isn't ready for real competition just yet :)

Are you kidding me? Do you know how much RNG there is in Forts that can sway matches on a dime. There rarely is such thing as a fair Forts matchup.
@@thehotdogman9317 -- Eh, games where every movement can be precisely predicted are tactically boring. You might be right that Forts has a bit much RNG for a competitive game, but it's also something that you can play against. That's why these tournaments are best of 5, losing once could be random chance, but losing three times is significant.
These tournaments are great, all of them have either something funny or unexpected happen

Coming from someone who has never played Forts:
I love watching this content. Been watching these videos since the algorithm suggested them a year and some ago.
What i would like for these casting videos is to include talking about commander abilities and what they could bring to the table.
I can understand that from a veteran perspective it might seem dumb to repeatedly talk about the same stuff,
but it helps to include more viewers and commanders seem to influence strategy to some degree.

You know the momentum is going to switch the moment Incursus preemptively declares a winner.
Big ouchie to Bobereto. That was a big kick to the bollocks.
It is incredible to see that even six years after its release the forts community still evolves and comes up with new and improved strategies. For example, stability tech was not a thing in this tournament whereas now, one year later every pro uses this essential technique to improve their fort.

I refuse to believe Mateo does not use a ruler LOL. Even with good eye coordination for where to put stuff, he’s way too precise to just be eyeing the perfect angles

The second dead cannon wasn't a door-snipe; it was a hit from the bottom. That's something I've often thought was a bit silly: two or three solid iron doors protecting the front... one thin layer of wood on the bottom.

In the second game,
If lancen's cannon shot upward to bob's workshop, It would have done enough damage, and he would've won the game.
Or if Felix hadn't've kept shooting at the weapons that were both well-shielded and also far away from anything else and instead aimed for the core, it probably would have turned out much differently, too. Bob & Matteo generally do a good job of coordinating.
Now, this said, Lancen and Felix both were playing these games right off the back of the previous 5 they played in the semi-finals, and Lancen, at least, was desperately in need of sleep, so I can understand him not making that connection. It's impressive how well they've been doing even under those conditions! Honestly, the games should have been delayed so everyone could rest up, as is done with tennis tournaments and the like.

@@alexanderismylove sorry for my bad english, i used to play fort this is insteresting for a couple hour in solo but if you play online (with your friend) the game become way more interesting

Kind of want to see incursus playing rather than commentating but both are fun to watch!
Pros are pros, so before I finish watching this, I'd like to apologize for what I said last video for all percievable, stirred up, and out-rightly written things that illegitimized victory, and out right skill presented by Felix and Lancen. Not that even a single NaCl molecule was taken from what I said and caused to be said, but you two are clearly excellent players that don't deserve scrutiny especially from the likes of me, a non-player. So, as I resume watching I'm wishing you two luck, o7.

I have no idea what this game is, it popped up in my recommended. After watching this match, all I have to say is, I'm hooked.

Love these vids, but one suggestion is maybe use versions of these maps without the weird black background? Much nicer to see some of the more beautiful backgrounds that forts has to offer

@@reloflex Ah i see, it's definitely cool and definitely "feels" pro, but I still can't help but think it could be a little nicer to look at, but that's just my personal opinion

This game is like that episode of Rick and morty where Rick and an alien get stuck in a jungle and have a technological arms race to kill the other first
I have a strat that might be worth a good try. If you split the braces after a cannon and make the top one a door and the bottom one an portal you could trick an opponent into going for a door snipe that actually ends up hitting them instead of you.
@Incursus Look at Matteo's lazer stack, it's all immediate, no delay repairs from firebeam when it's all right there. fire then immediate lazer for maximum burn

Now that was a comeback!
Would have liked to see some long-range maps where someone makes a hanging cannon or two.
That first match was insanely quick. And it could have been a slog fest, but apparently someone has telekinetic power's.
Second match was excellent aim, but mostly some not as effective as it could have been suppression followed by rather very effective suppression.
Then third match was some slight mistimings, some surprisingly poor aim, and then some stupidly good aim, which turned a somewhat uneventful match into an incredible one.

Probably an observer side bug :) I was hosting from Europe, the lag might have messed up the timings on the tech.
I checked the replays, Matteo double deleted his early tech, so it started rebuilding instead of selling. The camera just missed it.

Hi, im chosing between Forts and Worbital, which do u recommend?? I like Forts more bc i played REDCON on mobile and its amazing and Forts feels a lot like it but witouth troops (but i like couch vs to play with my brother too)
I'd go forts, I don't think Worbital is as fun for as long
forts is a good option for who played redcon, worbital is not getting updated, and youtubers stopped playing after a time
I as well would recommend Forts. Especially if you have people to play with. It's just (at least in my Opinion) allowing for more freedom when playing with friends.
I would go with Forts. It stays fun for longer and Worbital is kind of dead.
Thanks everyone for the aswers, i think ill go with Forts (first), the structure building mechanic seems more appealing to me, and in worbital seems that focus more on shooting that defending (and defending seems a manual thing) and Forts seems more balanced in that way

Watching the entire tournament it feels like energy shields are just too expensive for being the only defence against lasers :/ maybe they need a rebalance or a new material that doesnt reflect them but does help stop massive penetration to a degree.
Consistently not defended against at all and won so many matches on the first firing even when behind :

I have to say that the lasers are boring to watch. People are like woah his aim is so good but you can literally just put a ruler on your screen and you're good. Would like to see another meta next time or atleast balance it
