  • I DECIDED TO GO SINGLE TURBO ON MY 335I. I ALSO DECIED TO REBUILD THE ENGINE FROM THE GROUND UP. I SOURCED A DONOR ENGINE. THE ENGINE FAILED FROM A WORN CAM LEDGER. THIS WAY I CAN BUILD THE ENGINE WITH OUT PUTTING THE CAR DOWN. IN THIS EPISODE I FOCUS ON INSTALLING A 2 PINNED CRANK HUB AND SOME TIMMING COMPONETS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE DIGITAL TORQUE WRENCH FROM LOWS. I WILL LEAVE A LINK BELOW. ALSO I WILL GLADLY ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS JUST LEAVE A COMMENT BELOW. FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM @BLUEPRINT_AUTO

It worked well. You just have to take your time and have patience. Use tenique.

I'm reassembling mine and I can't find information, even on TIS, on reassembling the hub. Oil pump sprocket (with grip discs installed), washer, and camshaft timing sprocket is what I saw when i disassembled. Do you know the part number of that washer?

I didn't make a video, but here is what i did.
After resurfacing the block, i reassembled the crank shaft, and this time, i used thick pieces of card bord on the floor. i laded the motor down on its side. This is how i was able to achieve the proper torque. Next, when i put the motor back on the stand, i used grade 8.8 steel bolts.

Not as good as I thought. I scratched the deck.... I had do disassemble the entire motor and send it back to the machinist. Hopefully it can be salvaged with out removing to muck material. Wish me luck.
