Silence... We're walking up to a gigantic door... It opens slowly...
*THIS PLAYS*
Honestly the best way they could have done it. The music reveal was just stunning even on my second playthrough (first playthrough on DE was my second overall).
@@mitchbron01 I just knew the Bionis interior couldn't be the final dungeon, the music wasn't epic enough for that. Then *this* happens and it just really set in, "yeah, this is definitely the end, time to make Zanza pay!"
@@zura8879 To me I personally think that Bionis Interior is the first final dungeon while Prison Island is the second one next to the first disciple that we all know and loved (sarcasm) Lorithia, and the second disciple is obviously Dickson himself which is why I think that they’re both final bosses next to Zanza the so-called god of the Xenoblade Chronicles universe.
**Dickson getting more and more exasperated as Shulk and Co. keep getting sidetracked with filling the Collectopedia, farming gems, grinding for rare drops and just flat up leaving to finish yet another sidequest.**
Every quest = a bead of sweat, knowing how much more exp shulk will bring to the fight
Dickson brought it upon himself. Shouldn't have put the "point of no return" gate in front of himself.
not to mention slaughtering all of the creatures stronger than him on Bionis (and the Fallen Arm)
And then you realize that everything you do in the postgame canonically takes place before the Dickson fight. 😂

Dickson! Zanza! We're coming for you!
But first, lemme go see what's happening at Alcamoth.
@@nsbathome It always bothered me that there are regular enemies that are higher levels than the final boss. I'd like to imagine that in actuality Zanza is stronger than every enemy, the only reason he's level 81 is just for story purposes.
Plus, he also has a lot more HP than the Telethia in Alcamoth.
@@They_are_Arthur TBF, the game only tells you that Zanza is level ??? - you're not supposed to know he's weaker than a big cow hanging around outside Frontier Village or the owls in Satorl Marsh
@@cowzoo5577 Also maybe lore wise, being in space allows the party to be stronger than they normally are.
When Dickson thinks the fight is gonna be a piece of cake, but your party has been spending weeks levelling up by killing Kromars on the Kromar Coast and Telethia in Alcamoth.

Absolutely love this song. Gives me strong Ganon’s Tower and Hyrule Castle (Breath of the Wild) vibes
@Jacob Grigley He might be saying the remixed version is more like BOTW's Hyrule Castle. Which I agree with.
I just got here, I was playing in handheld mode with maximum audio on headphones since the area was so quiet. That was a mistake.
Prison Island should have gotten its own battle theme since it's such a unique location. It doesn't feel like you're on either the Bionis or Mechonis.
@@aashniw7125 I would've hoped that Definitive Edition would have fixed it at least. Given it the space battle theme.
I get the feeling prison island wasn’t always a prison. Banquet halls, kitchens, arenas, and what looks like a head table in the banquet area. I feel like this was either the capital for the Giants (like Alcamoth for the High Entia, since they’re both above Eryth Sea) or maybe the early days of the High Entia? I swear I’m hearing bits of Eryth Sea in this track so maybe I’m crazy
My personal opinion is that it was once a high Entia capital, before they eventually sealed Zanza there. If it belonged to the Giants, there would be no reason for the ancient high entia statues out in front.
@@Asher_Saltzman yeah but that doesn’t explain the oversized tables and door ways
It was perhaps a temple where Zanza's followers worshipped him and held feasts in his honor before awareness of him faded
This song just really seems to scream: “You think a dungeon full of monsters is gonna stop us?!?! HAH! HERE WE COME ZANZA!!!”
"You cannot improve perfection!"
"Hold my beer."
@@FinalSmashGamer2 I don't mind, I find them relaxing to do amist the visuals and music.
I remember my first playthrough and upon the door opening this song just blasted. I was in awe at how amazing and extreme it sounded. The end truly did lie ahead.
Is it just me, or is this song mixed weirdly quiet in DE? I remember having the same experience in the original, but I just got to this part last night and could barely hear the music. Too bad because this is a great update!
@@coyotelongshot idk, all of the live recordings seem to be a bit quieter than the midi recordings.
@@coyotelongshot During cutscenes, they muffle the bg music a little so you can hear the voices better. I really wish they didn't do that but it makes sense
God, Bionis will awaken and many people will die-
Nah, I'll go get some affinity with everyone first, including places.
Dude, I'm at the point of no return here and this is just my life now, I even fully rebuilt Colony 6. Spoiler-Man can wait, he has this long.
The end really does lie ahead now..
I ADORE the brief moments of gentle, bitter-sweet piano, strings and woodwind in amidst the overwhelming melody of the drums and other instruments. It's almost as if it represents Shulk and the others reflecting on everything and _everyone_ they've lost on this journey, and are using it to keep powering on. THIS is how you do an (almost) final area theme
I absolutely loved this song when I heard it the first time in the original because of how dramatic it sounds and it makes your heart race!! I am so glad this Xenoblade Chronicles made it on switch!!!!
One of the best games ever made imo. No matter how many times I replay it, it never gets old.
@Hkg 1 you know it would've been a pretty great combat system, but that f-ing level penalty is so bad. And they should've done an xc2 style challenge area for an actual challenge
While the string samples in the original were always pretty good, having real woodwinds and brass has elevated this piece so much! I think I even hear woodwind parts that weren't in the original orchestration?
@@kami-chan3200 Honestly, I think the issue most people take with the remastered tracks lies in how the string section is mixed with everything else. As I said in my original comment, the synthesized string samples in the original tracks are quite good. I think the sound team realized that and mixed string parts to the front as often as possible. The remaster has a full orchestra so there's no need to worry to about one sample sounding better than another, so the sound mixers could focus more on bringing out the varying parts in the orchestration. None of the tracks have really been changed in terms of arrangement, but I think for a lot of people that string forward sound is THE Xenoblade sound so I understand why the remastered tracks can be jarring. Nevertheless, live musicians bring nuances in phrasing and articulation that MIDI just cannot match at this time.
This was one hell of a final dungeon! And I mean that in the best of ways. The dramatic opening of the door and this song brought life to this area I thought I wouldn't see again, suddenly forcing me to scale 6 floors of tought enemies with little check points. Going thru this area gave me the grinding I needed because I was super underleveled at that point. Scaling the dungeon, finding incredible gear all in one great accent to the top, where dickson, and eventually the zanza fight, lie, all while listening to this fucking BANGER of a track. Those last few hours of just scaling the dungeon are some I will never forget.
the return of the best door and its been waiting for us all this time that it remade itself
Does this sound like Mario Galaxy music to anyone else?
Actually it is, but I cannot tell which one. Maybe the last level before fighting Bowser?
No yeah, I was thinking something similar like the final Bowser levels from the Galaxy games
When that door opened and this played, you knew what was going down.
The entrance is sooooooo cool
I wasn’t prepared when I started this one. God damn this is good.
This song just SCREAMS of a final push against the enemy
It's just so epic hearing this theme play when the doors open. This final area theme is just perfect. Prison island is definitely a really good final dungeon.
“I can sense “Noskcid”. We must be near the top. If we proceed any further, we won’t be able to return. Are you ready?”

In a few months we will get the OST finally!!!
I do kinda miss the constant hats that were played in the original, but oh FUCK.
THE BRASS
THE OBOE
THE MOTHERFUCKING PICCOLO JUST GOIN HAM
and of course, THE STRINGS. OOOOOOH THE STRINGS
These rearrangements definitely don't all hit the mark, but goddamn do they bring so much with the full orchestrations. I just love hearing all of these beautiful sounding instruments in these songs.
Man, I know Prison Island is cool but this place just can't get a rest, can it? First it wasn’t even originally made as a prison, then it was used to keep a god sealed for a very long time (from which it gained its name), then said god's disciple used this place as last stop between the god and the party who wanted to kill him, and now it is where the story of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed reaches its end
Good god, the low brass in this is just amazing
The first chords were already epic. Can't wait for the rest.
When u know ur in the endgame. Whats an Egil?
I LOVE THIS remastered!! Was already one of my favorite tracks!!
So… this theme better plays AGAIN IN FUTURE REDEEMED
Sadly it doesn't. I think it just plays a remix of the regular Prison Island theme that plays.
I'm getting huge Breath of the Wild vibes from this. Mostly Hyrule Castle, and it's just as glorious and powerful as the original version was.
It's kinda the other way around, though. BotW took a lot of inspiration from this game.
PhoenixFlare49
BOTW is monolith’s worst game. Then again, it’s competition is the Xenoblade games.
@@amburprice8479 BotW itself exists because the Zelda team was so inspired by Xenoblade to begin with, and realized that Monolith was doing what they (the Zelda team) should have been doing all along. That's why we had such an amazing turn-around from the obnoxiously linear and handholdy Skyward Sword to BotW.
God this music is nice! I just beat DE yesterday for the first time ever. This game was an experience. A story with this place.
I’m on Travalga Bridge, on my way to summon the Dragon. I’m decently leveled (about level 78) so I go on to take on the gargoyle enemies that’ll aggro me cuz their portrait is still blue. The fights are easy so in order to get rare drops and make things more interesting, I go on to aggro more of them. So I’m there fighting about 4 of those guys at the same time. Notice one of the Laia flying around aggro me, no problem. One more enemy.
Then, You Will Know Our Names starts playing. It’s Masterful Gigapur whose the same level as me (white portrait). I’m freaking out and somehow all the Laia in the area except one aggro me so there’s a horde if enemies against my party. Somehow, I pulled through and beat them all. Had my best team combo (Shulk/Dunban/Riki) so that definitely helped me but there were SO MANY close calls in that fight.
Honestly my favorite battle experience so far, enjoyed it more than the final boss in the sense where I felt I was reacting and playing very safe. Now I’m off to do the high level sidequest stuff. Can’t wait to battle the Superbosses!
They just took the already amazing OST and straight up perfected it! I love everything they did to this game ;^;
PRISON ISLAND IS BACK
The song that I hear every time I want to replay the final boss
SOUNDS SO EPICCCC
Just beat this game for the first time about 6 hours ago with my cousin who I also played through all of XC2 with, and when we wake up we’re planning on finishing Future Connected which we started a bit more recently.
This song absolutely floored me when it started playing and is easily one of my favorite tracks in the game. I’m looking forward to what tracks FC holds as well.
I am going to open this door!
Chills
I have chills
It wasn't until I actually played the game myself that I realised that when Melia says "so it has sunk into the Bionis' head”, she meant that the whole of Prison Island had just been caved into the Bionis' skull. I always thought for some reason that the island was just submerged into Eryth Sea, but then I skip-travelled there and quickly realised how wrong I was.
That also makes the background of this place even more awesome too.

Playing through all of fire emblem engage brought me back here because it’s main leitmotif sounds extremely similar to this song

Big Door Lies Ahead
I will tell my experience with a short story with this game.
I was doing a challenge with a friend and I have to finish the game in one month. And if I lose I would have make a tshirt with me praising him with the superiority meme, but If i would manage to win, then my friend have to do it.
I was in my last day of the challenge, I cant continue the sidequest and completionist, so I proceed with the few chapter with Seven, rushing the story.
It was great, this music feel in my heart when I was in my finals hours of the challenge before I lose, and I feel like the urgency to save the world before it was to late.
I run to Dickson, and it was all a rollercoaster of emotion... But at the end I win the challenge right one hour before the end.
U should try thing like this, it put a lot of challenge :)
Oh, and my friend at the end didnt make the tshirt because he is a coward 😂(😥)
Hope they have a song and moment like this in Xenoblade 3
문 열리면서 동시에 재생되는 이 브금.. 소름돋았음

Si pero en Tantal no se sentía esa epicidad, talvez porque en este punto del juego ya sabes q se va acabar pronto

why are there so many doors flashing before my eyes?
Does this song share a motif with Agniartha or am I just imagining it? Sorry if I misspelled.

The soundtrack download is just lame -.- you pay 100$ for the collector and only receive 20 tracks 💔
@@ftufaif well, at least I got an artbook, poster, literal Record Player Disc, and Steelbook
@@ftufaif still pisses me off that North America got the short end of the stick when it came to the collector's edition. I was at least lucky enough to have a friend in the UK whom I could give money to so they could buy it for me.
Cole Lewis I know right? I payed too much to get mine too and it arrived 2 weeks after the launch day and WITHOUT the complete soundtrack lol
I feel like maybe due to the increased sound space the drums at the beginning don't crash as much as they should. Still think the song's great but it lacks the oomph that the first one had. Lemme put it this way. I'm still feeling it, but I really feel it with the original.
Babychris66 Well yeah but I’ve heard synthesized tracks that feel open and dynamic. I think part of it might be the older sound technology of the Wii. Or maybe the newer tracks mixing has a more dynamic EQ. Unless you meant that the old song was made to be more flat and I just misunderstood you.
@@IshPPG the person you are replying to literally has zero clue about any of this shit there's no point
The titan theme from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth sounds very similar
Wait you are supposed to open the doors? I just went around them every time I got to this part and it worked

this gives me botw hyrule castle vibes
I think I prefer the old one just because this one seems less pronounced with it's sound, it's harder to hear the *punch* and the background drowns out the unique parts here. still good
I liken it to the negative space version of music. You know what the melody is, but the composer opts to instead play around the spaces surrounding it. The melody blasts in your head, despite it not being there, and a bunch of other interesting sounds occupy that space. I absolutely love it.
They changed the title 🌝 why ?
@@pesky2119 The End Lies Ahead is its official localized title. To the Last Battle is the direct translation of the Japanese title.

Gah, missing one part from the original.
@@adre2194 Compare 2:41 of both versions. Maybe cuz I'm not using headphones right now, but I can't hear the bells.
the one part about this that I don't like is that sometimes the flute or recorder or whatever that is gets drowned out by everything else and it makes the song sound like somebody is just dooting randomly
This is the only song in the soundtrack that I think is better in the definitive edition. I never noticed it in the original but it is great here.
Jonah Laining I respect your opinion, and this soundtrack is good too, but in my opinion, the original soundtrack is worlds better. In the Fallen Arm is one of my favorite songs in that game and it cannot be topped. It is so beautiful. This whole game is beautiful and it’s soundtrack is it’s keystone. What a masterpiece.
The original sounds more intense and dramatic and this one sounds more musical and emotional. Honestly I prefer the original but this one it still amazing.
I don't get it, to me this is one of the ones that sound like a direct upgrade
Top 3 song that definitive edition butchered
3: you will know our names
2: gaur plain
1: this (I’m sorry the first version was just mixed so perfectly)
To be honest, I don't like this version of the song as much as the original, because there was one part of the song that killed it for me the second I started listening: the first note sounds extremely strained IMO.
This is a rare thing in this remastered ost, but. I don't think this does the original justice. The percussion is too quiet, and it doesn't have that kick right at the start. It feels...lackluster, compared to the original.
It's the only area in the game this happens (outside of fights at least)
I'm having a hard time liking any of the new arrangements more than the previous ones
