Hey Andrew. Much gratitude for this video. I am using it to help guide my practice and a few grey areas for me were resolved as a result of your approach. Very helpful.
Good observation. :) Yes, this form and the 27 form are both from Chen Style Taijiquan. The 27 form is a simplified derivative of this form, the way the Yang 24 form is a simplified derivative of the Yang long form.
I wish I could help, but I don't know of any books about this form. Although, I'll let you know if I come across any good ones. Sorry, I wish I could be more help than that. :(
I have come across a really good book for this form. It is called "Chen's Taichi Old Frame One & Two: Vol. 2" by Chen Zhenglei (ISBN: 9780986675621). Grand Master Chen Zhenglei does a superb job of introducing the forms and describing them in detail. If you're learning either Lao Jia Yi Lu or Lao Jia Er Lu, this book will be a great help. I hope it is what you are looking for and it aids you in your training.
nice energy, nice everything, great effort. you also seem like a very nice person, but that form is not correct. it looks like you added your own thoughts to it from yang style.
I appreciate your video. Always some differences in the form. Much respect for your practice.
I am glad to hear that you enjoy my videos. Thank you for taking the time to comment and let me know. Stay safe and healthy!

Glad to hear you found it useful. :)
good frame, good rhythm, good sense
Not that I've learned it well yet, but I am seeing some similarities between this and the 27 form that we do in class. Is it derived from this form?

Is this also referred to as "long form"?
Thanks for the question. It can be referred to as the Chen Style Old Frame Long Form, but it is best known by its name, Lao Jia Yi Lu. :)
Thanks!

Ha ha okay, thanks for sharing. :) Have a great day!
There are always variations and Taichi rarely has one central way of doing things.....this form is still in the authentic tradition and looks great!
