- Here we had another quick fishing session at Cogden Beach.
A few extra cost for the month has made me thinking about making the most of the National Trust parking so Cogden beach was the top choice as since the weather is wonderful, I'm pretty sure Hive Beach would be packed.
I have brought 3 rods for this session - one of which is the Nitron Surf Rod I have built to match the Akios Nitron F-15 Reel, just to take it for a field test.

@@x3mgrifter Go for the Airpower435srs. Absolutely awesome piece of kit. Stick the Nitron on it like i do and let it fly. That rod will take anything from the beach in British waters. That includes monster Tope. Tight lines mate 🎣 👌 👍
Sorry a bit of a tip with the Nitron. Remove the side plate ,the side with the Mag adjuster on. Remove spool. Get yourself some lighter fluid and flush the bearings out. It will remove all the transit grease. Reload with Red rocket oil. The reel will run so much faster and smoother. Regards Paul 🎣 🎣 🎣
I have done that with the bearings in an earlier video. I have ABEC7 on my current spool and ABEC9 on my spare spool. Fitted quick release screws on the side plate so tool-less disassembly to swap spool. Will include a shot of the side plate with the screws on Friday's video (spare time - permitting). 😁
Need to lay low on spending for a new rod for the time being as I just made my own to match the Akios Nitron F-15 reel. Not 100% yet but I was able to field test it and so far so good. Will upload a video on Friday of the field testing. 😁💪
