Filipinos are so used to just taking a foreign song, memorizing it and giving their all in order to give justice to it even though they don't really speak the language.
I'm still waiting for Katrina's cover of a Korean OST of a kdrama entitled FULL HOUSE. she finished that a long time ago but she got busy with shows and stuff...

She's having an US tour this coming September to October, man I wish she also perform in some parts of Mexico and Spain, I'm sure people there will appreciate her talent in singing, not like our own kababayan (fellow filipino) who always finds a way to degrade, bash and bring her down to lift up their own idols. Anyway, I just wish her latin medley will play in various hotels and fancy restaurants because her voice is so magical and soothing at the same time. 😍

Anyhow, Tagalog should contain at least 5,000 spanish root words out of 20 to 30 thousand root words, a bit less than compared to Bisaya or Bicol. I would say, there could be a possibility to 60% loanwords in some areas.

YOU ARE THE ONLY TH-camR TO SAY THAT SHE EQUALS BEYONCE, THIS IS ABSURD AS THIS WAS THE BEST VERSION OF ALL TIME OF LSTEN, CKATRINA ALWAYS PUTS HER IDENTITY IN EVERY SONG, WHICH MAKES THEM COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM THE SINGERS THEY ARE THE MUSIC ORIGINATED. THE ARRANGEMENTS OF THIS MUSIC ARE SUREAL AND SHE SINGING FOR THE FIRST TIME IN SPAIN, WITH THESE MELISMAS FOLLOWING THE ORCHESTRA FAITHFULLY AND STILL RAISING ONE MORE TONE OF THE MUSIC, IT'S NOT FOR ANYONE. ALL YOUBERS REAFFIRMED THIS BECAUSE IT'S A FACT, INCLUDING THE SINGING TEACHERS, BECAUSE KKATRINA DOESN'T TRY TO IMITATE ANY SINGERS IN THEIR PERFORMANCE AND THEREFORE YOU SHOULD NOT COMPARE THE ARTISTS AND YES THE MUSIC, AND IN THIS I'M SORRY, KATRINA WAS AT THE HEAVEN OF ABSURD , AND AS MUCH AS SOMEONE IS A BEYONCE SUPER FAN LIKE ME, I HAVE TO BE FAIR. I HEAR TO SAY THAT THIS VERSION IS BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL AND KATRINA VELARDES HAS OUTSTANDED ITSELF. THIS IS MY OPINION AND THAT OF 99% OF REACTORS, BUT EACH ONE HAS ITS AND MUST BE RESPECTED. Katrina Velarde was born in Tondo, a district within Manila, the capital and an international city.
Katrina is fluent in Tagalog. This language consists of 25 % Spanish words. Thus, Katrina and other Filipino singers have a head start with learning Spanish.
Music business in The Philippines. You are on point! Management of Filipino musicians lack any push promotions in Westernized nations.
The US music industry is slow in promoting native Asian musicians. For example, Kpop was around in the 1980s but was not pushed until the 2010s.
The Internet disrupts the slow promotions. So does the decreasing prices of international travel.
David Foster of Victoria, BC is one music insider who heavily promotes Asian musicians. He frequents Asia. He favors them especially singers from The Philippines. He stated that the next diva will come from Asia . Katrina is certainly one for that title. Her friend Morissette Amon is the likely diva!
Nevertheless, Katrina, Morissette and many other Filipino singers belong in US and Canadian music charts as well as on the worldwide stage.

I don’t think its a big challenge to her or any Filipino for that matter to speak or sing in Spanish because its a language that Filipinos can easily learn due to Spain’s incredible 333 yrs of colonial rule. Our tongues have adopted pretty well with Spanish to a point that we don’t even know that the words we speak on a daily basis contains so many Spanish loan words. There might be little corrections here and there like for example the word ‘llena’ which for most Spanish speakers would pronounce it as ‘jena’ is different to her since she pronounced it as ‘lena’ while other Filipinos esp Visayan speakers pronounce it as ‘yena’ but its not wrong either.
