Thank you for your comment! Maharishi Ayurveda recommends to do oil pulling after brushing and cleaning your tongue. The two steps are important to clear out waste residues sitting in your oral cavity after the overnight digestion. Oil pulling removes any left over waste, bacteria, and nourishes your oral cavity as mentioned in the podcast. It is usually the last step of your oral care routine. A great video…..thanks for that! I have a couple of queries if you can answer them plz….. 1) I have also see many Ayurveda practitioners saying the first thing in the morning we should do is oil pulling. They suggest to do it before brushing and you he cleaning not after that. 2) Secondly, if we are taking thyroid medicine, then what should be the order between taking medicine, doing oil pulling and brushing? Kindly suggest.
Thank you for your thoughtful questions! 1. In Ayurveda, the first thing in the morning is to remove accumulated toxins (ama) from the mouth. Oil pulling before brushing helps pull out these toxins effectively. Doing it before brushing allows the oil to reach deeper into the gums and remove bacteria. 2. If you're taking thyroid medication, it's important to follow your doctor’s instructions for timing. Request you to please book a free vaidya consultation with our expert vaidyas on the number below.
