    I'm 57 now.
Been a metalhead all my life.
I still to this day have a hard time seeing Motörhead as anything other than Filthy, Clarkey and Lem.
    These guys are pure legend.

I filmed and photographed his funeral at Markeaton crematorium Derby, put together and displayed a tribute video of Phil's life with unique family photos working with his 2 sisters who contracted me. I also patched into the service a tribute from Lemmy and the other 2 guys who were all in the states. Lemmy was really not looking well at that point. Fast Eddy gave a short eulogy as did the Axe man of Wasp. The service Wake was held at 'the Markeaton' and was quite a who's who of Rock ... Motorhead was my first gig. The Bomber tour, when I was 13. Mind blowing !

Phil Taylor left a £1.3m estate in his will, mainly to his two sisters.
The drummer, known as Philthy Animal, died aged 61 in November 2015 from liver failure. His sisters Linda Taylor-Fry and Helen Greenwood received the bulk of Taylor’s estate after he publicly acknowledged the existence of his wife for the first time.
The will revealed that Taylor had married Thera Ann Johnson in 2001 but that she left him several weeks later. Knowing that he was ill, Taylor hired a private detective to trace Johnson for a divorce so that she would have no claim on his estate.
Although detectives were unable to trace Johnson, Taylor was granted a divorce two weeks before his death on the grounds of their long separation. Fantastic video Paul.

Saw Phil, Lemmy, and 'Fast' Eddie on their Bomber album tour of late 1979 play at Portsmouth Guildhall. Two days previously AC/DC played at the same venue and their sound reached 116 decibels, Motorhead were impressed, but did better by getting up to 118 decibels, I was virtually deaf for 24 hours after! To be there and see and hear Lemmy, Phil and Eddie do the track 'Overkill' live at 118 decibels was a truly unforgettable experience.

I remember seeing Motörhead at the palladium on Hollywood Blvd during the iron fist tour ( this was the iconic show where fast Eddie quit the band and In Stepped Brian Robertson ( ex thin Lizzy on lead guitar ) I knew it was Brian Robertson right away but he looked as tho he did not fit he looked like a punk rocker short red hair the fans also gave mr. Robertson a very very unkind welcome to the group i was in the very front right against the stage ) standing room only general admission seating they was throwing coins , a shoe , a hair brush , at mr.Robertson the people there had no clue who he was after the show I had went back to the bus parked along side of the venue to meet the band and meet them I did I talked to mr Robertson before he got in the bus and told him how shameful the way he was treated him on stage and how huge a fan I was of him and asked him to autograph my Motörhead LPs I told him I did not know he was in the group ( this was way before the inner net ) and asked him had he planned to record or tour again with Motörhead he said yes it was discussed to record a new LP and possibly a tour later the next year so I had asked him if he came back to California is there anyway I could get him to autograph my thin Lizzy stuff and he said yes i had told him I was waiting for Phil Taylor and lemmy to autograph my stuff also that I was going to wait for them to come out he said to me we’ll come on the bus as my guest and wait for them there he also gave me a free Motörhead tee shirt I was shocked so he invited me on the bus and 35 minutes later here came lemmy and Phil Taylor onto the bus it was pure magic lemmy and mr Taylor was extreme gentleman and autographed every thing I had LP’S and tour book wow i was blown away was a sad day to hear mr Taylor had passed he was an extremely nice man very very cool guy and so was lemmy and to get back to mr. Robertson yes I went to that next Motörhead show ( the another perfect day tour ) and wow this was a show to die for i felt another perfect day was the most and underrated LP they ever made a incredible LP if you ask me my all time favorite and after that show mr. Robertson remembered me from the Hollywood show and I had brought every single thin Lizzy LP for him to autograph also mr Robertson invited me up to the dressing room at Chuck landis county club in reseda California and there again i had more stuff for lemmy and mr. Taylor to autograph very very very gracious guys to their fans all 3 of them this was a night to remember god bless all their souls in heaven this band killed it live and in person and thank you sir for this fantastic video and the memories it gave me of mr. Alright Paul. Bless this man Phil Taylor what a legend man from a legend band, I remember leaving Hammersmith Odeon seeing so many Motörhead jackets and T-shirt’s once after a Maiden gig when I was still living back home then, I thought I must see them, after seeing them on such shows like The Tube Young Ones. I eventually saw them in Sydney in 1992, what an awesome gig I was right up the front, the loudest band on that day at Metalfest - someone threw a I think a can or bottle or something at poor Phil, the guy who did it was drunk, and Phil put his sticks down and said we came all the way down here to play this show and you’re doing this…” I remember it clearly, and to be honest I really don’t blame him if he did leave soon after, Motörhead as a band were so hard working, and mate Phil is the highlight in the back seat there playing the drums, what a man indeed, and I have to say “Another Perfect Day” from 1983 has to be the definite Motörhead album, I’ll buy it on LP when I get some money. what a great tribute for Phil, thank you 🙏🏼

Sometimes you'd get to meet the band afterwards but Phil always seemed to hold back. I remember meeting Phil in Leeds when Christmas shopping. He was dressed very smart and had a bow tie drawn on his neck brace.
A little different to when I saw him in concerts. Most memorable were the Metal Mayhem (I think) at Bingley Hall in Stafford, and the Queens Hall, in Leeds.
A great guy, much missed. Thanks for the music Phil.
I would say RIP. out of respect....but think he would find peace boring.!

ill tell you a little story about me and MotorHead, im a Aspie "Asperger's syndrome" and when i was a kid i had a big problems with loud noises it would freak me out big style' when i was a teenager a mate put on a motorhead record so i could hear them and it cured me the louder the better. i met Lemmy in 92 or it might of been 93 back stage and told him about it and he was chuffed to bits. great vid as allways mate.

Thanks for this great Video! I m from Switzerland and have been one of the most die hard Classic Line up Fans of Motorhead back in the day...! I ve been lucky enough to see this classic Line up on Dec 11th 1981! A day I will never forget....Motorhead back then where Titans like Talos in the antic tales...! They where huge and very influential to me...No Sleep ti Hammersmith is until today the album I ve listened most of all my many thousands of records I collected in nearly 50 years! Around 1500 times at least....Iistened to it nearly 3 times a day for one year when it came out...I played drums with knitting needels of my mum to all the parts of this album on my bed! The only time I did this...I actually played guitar back then...but Philthy was a drummer from another Universe.....Thanks for the great legacy you left behind Phil! Together with my other great inspiration of Fast Eddie and Lemmy you created my images of loud and dirty Rock n Roll music...Yes we put our heads into the speakers at Motorhead Live Shows when we where young to hear more sound...it couldn t be loud enough! The ears are still ringing! R.I.P. Lads....see you on the other side...!

Fist saw Motörhead on tiswas in the late 70’s and as a kid of 9 they really hit me hard .never really listened to music much before that .but Motörhead put a stop to that..was a fan ever since 79 I’m now 53 and still love em .the three amigo’s as lem Phil and Eddie were known are still my fave line up .met Lemmy a few times in the late 80’s in Hanley stoke on Trent when they toured Britain and Europe .him coming from boslem if you are a stokey or burslem if you onna ,or aren’t in posh English haha.Phil had that mad sense of humour that’s for sure .the comfort we have is now is the three amigo’s are back together kicking ass and giving it to em “LOUD”.RIP fella’s .stoke on Trent loves ya Lem.

@Sharks there's a hilarious interview with him and that guy who did that show the History of Heavy Metal. His response to the questions is funny as all hell especially when asked, What is Heavy Metal? Or when asked did listening to other drummers inspire you to take up the drums? He goes, No! I LISTENED TO BLOODY TROMBONE PLAYERS!
