Worked in the oil industry for about 20 years. Had to travel in and out of several countries. The company would always pay for "agents" in the more problematic countries. I am sure there was wheel greasing where needed. Some people would have thousands in cash just to ensure personnel and equipment would reach their destination. Once had a crate of circuit cards put on a pier, in the rain and elements, because the company would not pay. They eventually did pay and had to buy all new cards. An agent may be able to make arrangements for you ahead of time. Enjoy your videos.
I enjoy your videos, but you are really amazingly unprepared. Most countries outside US and Europe requires you to make a temporary import of the bike when you enter the country, and export it when you leave. It’s just another process that requires a minimum of preparation before starting the overseas traveling. Nothing is strange with them requesting you to have proof of ownership of the bike, not just a copy that everyone can fabricate, for them to process your temporary import. Proof of ownership is an original registration paper, which is obtained even in the most digitalized countries if you request it in advance of your overseas traveling. The alternative is a consulate or embassy signing and stamping a proof of ownership. Prepare before traveling, accept that the world is different in different countries, flow with it and frustration can be avoid. Good luck. I do enjoy your videos.

Word of wisdom: A modern motor vehicle's 'Check Engine' light illuminates to alert the operator of ONLY emission-related problems. Very rarely does a check engine light mean major engine mechanical problems. In other words, except in rare cases, the vehicle will still be operable. It just won't pass state and local emission test inspections. Here in the States, that means the vehicle cannot be registered until those problems are repaired and the check engine light cleared.
Danny I feel your pain and I am reminded that it is all self inflicted. With a wee bit of research you would have known about about getting a temporary import licence. Check out Itchy boots she went through all this but had done her research beforehand. If you want to finish your journey then do some research, stop blaming people when the only person that is at fault is yourself.

You should look at a trip around Europe... fly into Rome with the bike... ride south to the bottom tip of Italy... then turn around and rip straight up Italy, into Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Macedonia, Greece... if you are game enough, maybe keep going across Europe, through Russia all the way to China, now that would be a series for the record books.

Having ridden from Australia to England I understand your frustration but even with the language barrier most will try help you if you're nice to them and stay polite/respectful to the customs staff. That being said The Drone. Quite a few countries don't allow them including China and some of the Stan's but my Mavic Pro 2 did suprisingly fit in the airbox of a DR650 when required... ;) I know you thrive off the drama but just relax and maybe google the countries rules the day before you arrive for 2mins. Keep up the good work, keep going and stay positive.

Mate I’m an Australian and can’t comprehend how he doesn’t know the names of these countries. I’ve never been to them, can’t speak Spanish and I cringe at how he says them. I have no idea how you can get to his age (I’m only 3 or so years older) and have so little clue about the names of South American countries. Somehow I just know them from osmosis and television.

@@del0373 Exactly, the guy was trying to help and telling Danny to calm down. More often than not it's just a matter of paying the right person a little money (aka Mordida). Clearly that woman he was dealing with was not the right person, though as one of the agents pointed out it was a Sunday and they were short staffed. Something as simple as not having an original copy of the registration should be easy to remedy.

All I can say is unbelievable to try and go on on a motorcycle into countries and not know the laws or language perhaps Danny should have watched Itchy Boots make her trip from the bottom of South America to the top of Alaska without to many problems

Mate I’m an Australian and can’t comprehend how he doesn’t know the names of these countries. I’ve never been to them, can’t speak Spanish and I cringe at how he says them. I have no idea how you can get to his age (I’m only 3 or so years older) and have so little clue about the names of South American countries. Somehow I just know them from osmosis and television.

A "carnet de passage" isn't required for S. America, and they cost a LOT of money.
