Lyft, Uber are operating in Nevada

Uber and Lyft officials say they are operating in Nevada, despite the Clark County Commission's vote to deny them temporary business licenses. The ride sharing companies claim they have permission from the state.

As a Taxi driver I would like to welcome Uber and Lyft to Las Vegas. Sure they are not legally allowed operate in Clark County yet because of business license issues, but I have already seen some benefits to their arrival.
1. Taxi companies are treating the employees better in hopes of retaining them.
2. They have been targeting the more price sensitive customers, leaving the more generous customers as our ride pool.
3. When their drivers upset customers with inept, or just plain unprofessional service, and those customers try a Taxi again and get a better honest driver, they are more grateful. I am not saying this kind of thing does not happen with Taxis also, it does, and customers are happy when they do get the better service oriented drivers.
