  • So I've seen these cute sensory bottles for children and I wondered if I could make one myself. It might not be as fancy as other sensory bottles, but it's really easy to make and your kids will love it!
    I have filmped how I made one using just water and oil where I added some food coloring and of course glitter while my two year old was sitting besides me. I hope you will enjoy the video.

    the food color only effects the water because of the solubility, the glitter/stars gets coated in the oil and there for becomes slightly hydrophobic. if you slowly stir in much more glitter eventually the oil with take on all the glitter and you will have a very cool lava lamp affect. dont shake it too much as the glitter will eventually lose its coating.

    Aww she's so cute! I love making these for myself as well as my autistic sons - great aid for helping us destress in these stressful times and such a great way to talk to them about some science. Oh and please never apologize for mess (you should see my house) 😂

    You can glue the top shut so they can’t unscrew it. Thanks for the video.

    Very cute idea. May I suggest baby oil be used instead of cooking oil? Thanks for making the video.

    Is it the same with vegetable oil?

    • @DeanneShoyer
      @DeanneShoyer 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      yep! You can use vegetable oil - if you use darker yellow oil then it's great for demonstrating colour mixing if you also put red or blue food colouring in the water.
