Yes, you're right. I'm just thinking of a scenario where the guy backed up a few inches where he's still too close for a straight punch, yet too far for the uppercut. Can't you push shuffle just a few inches to catch him with the uppercut?

When should the Lead Punch be chosen over the Eye Jab? I mean it’s definitely always dependable on the situation, but what would be an example?
In self-defence, whenever you can choose between the eye jab or a punch to the face, go for the eyes.
Can you push shuffle and throw the lead uppercut at the same time?
Uppercut is a close quarter technique, it does not make any sense doing that.
