Eurodar??? Why do some people call the GNER 373s GNER Eurostar? Eurostar is another company just like GNER, it's like saying the 377 in southeastern 'Southeastern Southern' WTH?
@oldmanc2 actually it was,.. not only high speed,. but also the first ever tilting train,..designed and built by the old british rail and named the apt (advanced passenger train),. sadly dropped becasue it worked to well
@oldmanc2 All they do is argue and score points off each other, while lining their pockets at our expense. There have been some gains on the railways in the last 20 years like Eurostar and the Pendolinos, but the fares structure should be totally revised with a cap on fares of a maximum of £ 100 return on journeys over 200 miles to end the appalling walk on fares.
@gamwam Thanks for info, yeah, I remember the HST now! If I get back to England, I'm going to build railways through the motorways and introduce the Swiss Half-Price card scheme... surely my children would do a better job of investing in public transport than all our recent political parties put together hey? There are 2 very excited children. But I would be just as excited to see on of those going over such a bridge at 140mph. It would be quite a thriller.

Yesterday we were allowed to have a ride in the cab of a javelin train. Pretty amazing and really quite confusing controls.
