we are in 6 years, dubstep changed so much :
Stryk3r Sandwich at least the mixing and sound design has improved,
Buxton XP sound design and mixing is different to making a song
And I think u just haven’t been listening to the right artists tbh a lot of boring repetitive artists produce the same kick snare, kick clap riddem beat that isn’t melodic and focuses on live performances or just to play loud.

Melodic and a fantastic job with integrating the lyrics with the song
Also panda eyes plans on releasing an album next year with a lot of his old style tunes Rn he’s focus on trying and doing diverse music which includes a hip hop album under the name Lil Panda X which am curious about how well he’ll do.
Also yah I think the issue with a lot of newer dubstep is a lot (not all) sounds lifeless and are focused towards heavy live shows set cuz they get paid a lot more depending on what shows the appear at. Or they just enjoy focusing on sound design and less about the flow and upbeat jams

To be honest, 2012 was the golden age of dubstep. Brings back memories, it was so good until these newer songs came out where it literally is just mashups of people sharting with a strong treble in the background.
