Always check the corners if chipped and looks like chipped stone then fine if it feels like plaster after side is chipped means it is composite marble also the glazing on the surface is a dead give away markets have lots of thick composite tiles also that are sold in the name of marble ….I was shocked but surveyed on my own …real Italian marble travertine etc comes at a high price
