Had me search for a ranking video of all sand marble race marbles to see what kind of marbles Amethyst beat and how crazy this is. Didn't find a video, but the fact I was looking is ridiculous

Yeah, they're definitely my favorite, but sad to see my number 2 team go careening off course as well. I do like the rookie though, wouldn't mind seeing them do well.
Those 2017-18 seasons really hurt his reputation but he's coming back... As a Superball fan, its still sad to see former champ Dragon's Egg not here (or 2017 title challenger Quicksilver)

Not only was that one of the best SMR races I've seen, but we also had Amethyst pull through with a rookie win in their first race. This season only just begun and it's already looking good.
I KNEW watching that qualifier that Amethyst would be an upstart!! what a thrilling race, some amazing moves and strategy by the rookie to see that chance and seize it
Looks like Amethyst smartly veered and caught just enough of a speed boost at the end to take the win. What race craft! Someone studied the track layout before the start! 🏆 🏁
I was a big fan of Amethyst in the Qualifiers and was rooting for them here, NO idea how well it would go but I know I'll be watching them every chance I get!
Finishing right in the middle for Silver Bolt. If Silver Bolt can get these results throughout the season then I believe we could end up on the overall podium. Consistency is key. You got this Silver Bolt!
129 points are awarded each race, that makes on average 8.0625 (so silver bolt is pretty much perfect average). you need at least a quarter more of that for the podium which means 10 points per race. unless, of course, one or two marbles dominate and claim all the big points.
As a fan since the early days of Marble Rally, I'm really glad to see Ghost Plasma have a good showing again. That was my favorite racer back in the day.
It happens to the best of us. Trust me, I know. But I am certain that my old rival, RN3 will not disappoint. I was honestly expecting to be fighting with him for first. So you can imagine my surprise to see a first timer passing by me. Great win, Amethyst! 👍
When my fave Black Knight failed to qualify, I decided, what the heck, I'll cheer for the new marble. Did not expect them to pay off so quickly. Amethyst ran such an intelligent race! Correctly figured out which way to go at the split with the trip wire obstacle to take the lead, and managed to grab just enough of the speed boost to grab the win. I'm looking forward to seeing f they can keep this high level of intelligent racing up!
What a move by amethyst, watched the veterans battle it out between them, and took the opportunity well. As for crazy eyes, thought he was pushed out, but marshals judged differently

I had to choose a new marble since MMM didn't make the cut, so I picked Amethyst because it was a newcomer, and it proved to be a great choice! A huge change from rooting for MMM 😂 Way to go, Amethyst!!
That was an awesome first race! Great to see the Marble Rally officially back :) Slimer had a solid race, P6 is certainly something we'll be happy with. Hopefully they can do even better starting from the front row in Race 2!

As a Slimer fan, I'm very pleased with his performance, but Amethyst in your first race beating the world best in Marble Rally, you are certainly a marble to watch in the future!
I was already impressed by Amethyst in the qualifiers, and was cheering them on at the start of the race. By the end, I was on my feet, fists in the air, yelling out loud in cheer! What a race. One of the best!

A huge congratulations to the rookie Amethyst! I'm a big Steven Universe fan so when I saw her in qualifiers I knew she was going to be my marble this season. A great way to start!
I love elements like the one found at 1:02, it makes for a cool opportunity for lead changes! Loved this course and the new obstacles, but the sand is clearly difficult for the competitors considering how much it coated them by the end. They're gonna need a good soak to clean up! Maybe you could bring in some different grade of sand to create terrain variation at certain points in the course! Rough start for the legendary Red Number 3, but he's managed to claw back his way to the top from a DNF so I don't think all hopes is lost! Congratulaton to the winner!

A classic tale, the longtime superstars getting overconfident and resting on their laurels, becoming predictable so a new face with something to prove can study their weaknesses and exploit them. Congrats to Amethyst, always fun to see a new face on a podium! Of course, only time will tell if they can build on this momentum. Amethyst might have burned too much energy too fast, and also this will probably jolt some of the champs out of their complacency which could lead to them rallying. But, only one way to find out!
As a die hard WOD fan since the beginning... LETS GOOOOO. Not first, but a I'll take a podium! After multiple season having to grind in the B league, they clawed their way back to the top division and started the season like this.. I'm elated!

yes, but blue eye's move caused a DSQ ... CCE sometimes weren't friends for the officials - and it's disgusting as hell!!!
Especially since CCE has been penalized for less aggressive moves in other sports.
Very disappointing - wish the race had been stopped. I went from cheering to skipping to the end to see if anything would be done about it... :/
The officials have had it out for the CCE for years now. I can guarantee that if it was the other way around, CCE would have been DSQ.

This has been one of the most exciting races in a while. So many lead changes and one of the most dramatic crashes ever.
