Check the version they did at Live Earth in 2007. Mix Master Mike switches the beat to "Breathe" like he does here, but he switches it to Nas - Made You Look towards the end of the song.
They talk about it in their autobiography. I believe they just went and rented all the cameras to do it with. This looks pretty awesome as well. I don't remember seeing this one. Used to tape a lot of the music performances back in the day. Lost some tapes, but got maybe 8 between 90 to 95. Haven't played those tapes in years.
Great performance!! Ad Rock made a small mistake 04:50 and said " just plug me in just like I was GARY Harris" - Should have been EDDIE Harris! ('Plug me in' is the album title of Eddie Harris) I've been to a BB concert back in 1995 in Tel Aviv, great fun
I love how taste can change. Growin up hearing this at like 12 and liking hip hop n r&b, I would see songs /music videos like this and change it immediately like “this is weird” but at age 16-17 actually listen to the music and holy f***
I've been to two of their shows and seen them at Lollapalooza-all when I was in high school early-mid 90s. I promise everybody was going gorillas the whole time! They were unlike anything we'd seen before-hip hop/rap/punk/skate culture mixed together LOUDLY 😅 It felt revolutionary. Getting to go to those shows-and as a teenager, which still feels like it was the right age to do so? That's not something I take for granted 💜💜💜
I must've listened to this performance over 100 times, the beats are incredible...also missing from this edit is much of the original broadcast footage from Dave's camera, you can see him focusing intently to his left, which on the original broadcast you can see the object of interest was non other than Steph the intern...pre-extortion attempt
Mix Master Mike is the GOAT. These moments are FANtastic.
"Now, here's a little something you may not like... My DJs name is Mix Master Mike!"
True Dat! ✌️👌 wow akin to the check it out walk-in thru NYC …
Boom!
puttin in some "Breathe" into the beat was clean
hands down one my favorite performances by the beastie boys.
the beat switch @5:38 to "Breathe" by Fabolous is cleannnn.
I've never seen this before, and after watching it 20 times in a row it's now my favorite.

I LOVE these guys!
RIP Adam Yauch
The greatest rap group ever!
2024, we never stopped listening. 🍻
Never
🎉@@luispiros
@@DarronSandersonTravisKelce brought em back to the mainstream. We rock beastie boys in the loudest stadium in professional sports every touchdown.
Just saw for the first time, awesome performance!! 11/24!😊
🍻!!!
PURE HIPHOP. 3 EMCESS and 1 DJ to the MAX. Mike is unreal back there. Saw them in 98 and 04.
Love it when Mix Master Mike changes up the beat
MMM. That mix is my absolute favorite love performance. True banger.
I LOVE this performance! Thanks for finally uploading this!!! Beastie Boys are the best.
Wow! A great musical performance and Dave's awesome directing skills!? That's incredible!
Beastie Boys are the best and love the Handycams. Thanks Dave!
The ‘one’ dj got snubbed with the Dave handshake
Mike handled it like a pro! No worries....
I know! Bad Dave! 😆 poor guy. He killed it!
Awesome performance RIP MCA
5:00 - I love when Adam says "Sweet Lou tell em why" (for those who don't know Mike D's middle name is Louis 😊). I absolutely adore these guys!! ❤️🙏🏼
The beat at 7:00 is spectacular.
Mob deep song called have a party feat Nate Dogg. Def check it out
Well one lady was feeling it anyway. (7:05)
Beautiful dudes.
Beastie were one of the greatest live bands 🙌,especially with mix master mike

3 rappers who are so articulate enough to understand EVERY SINGLE WORD. And on point
Great post! We need a channel that replays all of Daves shows. Please!!!
Got to see them once. Legends.
The one guy who had the camera facing his own face was great😂
He was determined to get on national television
i love bands that are really true originals.
Love seeing them on Letterman.
Always had a little extra for the hometown
wonderful performance!!...saw them in '86 philly spectrum!🎤
I've listened to these guys since the beginning and only found out today their name has always been an acronym. Genius. 😆
Legends forever!
tears in my eyes for the master adam and beastie boys thanks.chile santiago ,2024.
I’m so impressed by this, they sound Great!
Real hip hop
Such a fun group love the beastie boys!
Great camerawork, Dave!

One of the best HipHop crues legends .
Beasties start @ 4:00

❤ much love to Adam.
I'm tired of driving it's due time that I walk about ........classic
Yess finally waiting long Time found this live versión of so whatcha want in 2006 on letterman showb
I could see Ad Rock get his arm ready to do the pyramid move at the end, but he noticed MCA wasn't doing it and pulled back
Legends. 🙌🏻
❤ Legende 🎧🎤🎛🎚🎙🎶🎵
I saw them live in Brooklyn, New York.
This is so tight. Most that crowd has no clue.
Who was on the crowd, extras from the movie Coma?
Baller.
that crowd was so lame. I would’ve been so hyped to be there.
03:05 obliterated that guy, "85 yr old cue card boy". Dang! lol
Itn hurts me that I will never attend a live performance of the Beastie Boys and those guys in the audience are frozen still watching them
I've been to two of their shows and seen them at Lollapalooza-all when I was in high school early-mid 90s. I promise everybody was going gorillas the whole time! @@TabethaAurochs I'm sure it must have been amazing, all the time I watch videos of theur live performances they look eletrifying
I saw them on the License to Ill tour. They were amazing from the very start.
Saw them in Philly at Festival Pier in Aug 2007. Mid 90s, soooo hot, and they went non stop 2 hours in polyester suits… best show I’ve ever seen
My wife's parents worked security at at Beastie/Run DMC concert. She was like 8 or something and didn't let her go.
That was killer ❤ Dave!
So F'n good😊

always RIP MCA
Mind blowing 😮😅😅❤❤
we be gettin down with no delay, mix master mike what ya got to say?!
The Film was great. Especially Interplanetary
Tooooo cool
U love the camera? Very good, it loves you too 😂😂 keep it then, it's useful for you 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
Masters
"We Made This Movie" vibes.
FRESH!
Their concert was filmed at MSG, come on Dave. It holds 19,500 beastie boys.
Now THIS is the hip hop I like. I’m getting old but I really dislike modern hip hop.
Did all that video editing happen in realtime on TV that night???!?
real deal hip hop. this is how its done, people
Everything s ok dear Dave ? ❤❤❤❤❤
Do they ever do the song?
😁😁😁😁😁😁😁🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏👏👏💐💐💐💐💐
6th and relatively early 😊
There’s only one number 6@!
I'm trying to remember the last beat Mix Master Mike threw on.
Was the crowd there to see Betty White?
I went to the msg show.
Mike is like, WTF?
MCA was the man.
Dave used the camera for 'other stuff'
Wow..new footage...I don't remember watching this back in the days!
Everyone does not remember, brainless.
Hip Hop needs to go back to this .... Tremendous!
Shout out to Paul’s Ed Sullivan impersonation
Noticed that this official Letterman post edited out the shots Dave filmed of his assistant Stephanie... She has been wiped from all shows apparently.
Rip MCA 🙏🏻
Mike D needed faster kicks on that night 😝
3 nice Jewish Boys from Brooklyn
Interesting song 😂😂😂
Its called a medley
Cool camcorder.(s)
--------------------- sony was uno to use 8mm tape in camcorders ....thanks4sharing
Onky 18 years ago.
i like how they ripped off ac/dc's "overdose" in "right to party"
you know, this is the kind of weirdness (shooting the hindu wheel of life) that is sorely missing from today's pop culture.
Terrible audience but great performance by the best 😅
Is this Lip synced? MCA's voice is coming through the mic at times and he's not singing into it. Never seen BBoys do that before
It looks like some of the handy cam shots weren’t edited in synchronously with the ‘production’ camera shots. Do you have a time stamp for an example?
So the Beastie Boys started that thing about everybody in the audience filming a performance instead of living in the moment 😅
It was wierd seeing them in front of such a dead crowd
Music today is a joke, especially the rap, compared to these legends.
back when camcorders were a thing still
Chavearo
Crowd sucked they killed this
Dave made me barf with the zoom...other than that it was great.
I can't help but see Dean Pelton everytime Paul pops up on camera.
They’ve actually referred to them as ‘ the’ Beastie Boys, things he usually didn’t do… Normally he omitted the ‘the’
It’s Beastie Boys because Beastie is an acronym.
That crowd is shameful.
the most boring crowd ever
Seriously! I only saw like 3 or 4 people into the music.
