I've known this guy for 3-4 years now. I think many Russians know him from the time of his interview on FOX NEWS.
I didn't know Carlson before he interviewed Putin. Now I know 😁
First time I watched Tucker Carson was the Putin interview. I thought it was a good interview. Putin the historian and he told everyone why he was there. But not everyone was listening.

Thank you for another wonderful entertaining video. I watched the interview with Putin. An educational interview the first half hour regarding Russian history. I notice that the grocery stores, McDonald’s, train station , mall are super clean and beautiful.
I personally haven't fully watched it yet. My wife has. Which is rare for her to see something before I do.

Hi, Russel! Nice and informative video as always. I actually had worked near Leninsky Prospekt for a while and visited Gagarinsky quite often. and you don't need to, if you want, then take a lot of money because in Russia the prices are not much less than American or European, and the salaries are almost 200-300 $ per month
Funny it is, living in Moscow we are usually in a hurry and do not notice some details of metro stations, even of those native to us (oftenly used). Russel’s videos help me to see beauty from new perspective.
And few words about art, pictures and mosaics inside metro stations: dear foreigners, I know that you have no big sympathy for Communism, but take a look what is described on the walls of a station: people gathering wheats, factory workers, students, of various nations because Russia is multinational and multicultural. This was a kind of communist propaganda: study, be hard working, have a respect to labour and to all nationalities.
I'm from the U.S. and years ago I got to see several parts of Europe while in the military. The U.S. has many beautiful places to go to and visit (made by the hand of God) but after comparing the cultural places and cities of Europe and America, I found that America was Sh*t. I wish that I had been able to go to Russia but it was "off limits" at that time.
@@tibo5828 you wrote this same comment under several comments here ! Why are you lie and pretend to be from US ?

The median household income in Russia is about $12K (USD) or around $1000 per month. That Russian burger meal looks a lot more expensive to the average Russia than it does to you.
You need to know that a person receiving $1,000 in Russia lives in the same level of comfort as a person receiving $4,000 in the USA

Metro looks great. There's lack of advertisement there. Very nice.
Almost all advertising in the metro was removed about 10 years ago so that the stations took on the original appearance that was intended by the architects.

A bit difference for sure. Even factoring in so many things.

Yeah, but the average annual income in Dover is about $75k. The average annual income in Russia is about $15k. Those prices take on an entirely different perspective once you factor that in.
Reminds me of when I was in Romania for a few months. I lived like a king there. But yeah, they still had McDonalds, a mall, etc... for those that could AFFORD it. Coles and Woolies are so primitive in comparison to these higher end Russian supermarkets. Coles is stuck in the 1970's; the only thing that is modern are the self checkouts.

Born in USSR. My parents moved to USA when USSR was alive and I was a child. Grew up here in USA. Never been back since but looking forward to visit some day and maybe move in the future to Russia, not Moscow area but somewhere South Russia. Thank you for your videos Russell. Jellyfish... u should take into account that food cost alone in Russia , seems to be 400% cheaper than in the US. Get it sharkyfish...???
@@angelotorrejon4366 doesn't matter, they spent 1/3 of their salary just on food.
@@Jellyfish60 It matters a lot, bro. In Russia, the standard of living is higher. The amount of payments per month for hot and cold water, electricity, heating, high-speed Internet, mobile communication, is on average $ 100 for all together. Free medicine, food is much better and cheaper. There is no non-organic food in Russia, as in the USA. The street is clean, safe, and there are not a lot of crazy people and drug addicts, as in major US cities. What is the beauty of your life? Is it that car insurance only takes away $ 400 - 500 from you every month? We'll add medical insurance, more expensive fuel, expensive food and everything else. If you earn $5,000 in the USA, you have to live modestly.

You should consider a career in the Russian army , I hear it’s a good stepping stone to be part of Russian society. They are very welcoming to foreigners. Consider it !
I took Russian back in the late 80's when I was in high school. I could have had the chance to head over to the USSR (and a couple classmates did), but was too scared and shy to do so myself. As an older man now, I wish I would have done it. I would love to visit Russia today.
Russia is awful and people are rude and aggressive
I lived and studied in Moscow at that time, learned the language well enough to work as a professional translator. I'm a Russophile by any measure - love the country, its people and culture.
My last trip was in 2015 just prior to Boris Nemtov's assassination. I knew then something seriously bad was up in the country. After what happened to Navaly, I will never travel to Russia until Putler is gone. But since he rewrote the constitution to make himself dictator for life, that won't be any time soon.

Also, like this nice towns were at the time Bagdad, Damascus... 😢, but now they are ruined😢. The American foren policy is now make a kultural genocide on my Macedonian people becouse to us, as a week state, is forbidden to name our state as we named it for centuries, as Macedonia and us as Macedonians. American and of course European politicians call us Nort Macedonians and they won to erase our history and kulture, never the mind that this name Macedonia and Macedonians are written in the Bible😢.

@@AlexOesch This is interesting for tourists, maybe. It also shows well how the GDP indicator differs from GDP/PPP
Also, it's very difficult to compare incomes. First of all, they are very different. In Russia there are salaries of both $500 per month and $5000 (and higher). And what does this give? Secondly - taxes, bonuses, etc., it’s impossible to compare. Third - necessary expenses - housing, medicine, insurance, etc. - this needs to be subtracted and then we will get how much “free” money remains.
