This should be understood by more people. I noticed some non-muslims were trying to find flaws in my life ( I reverted to Islam and been trying to quit my old life of drug addiction and violence) , and I told them I stopped many bad things and I am working on stopping the rest, but they d claim I am not a true Muslim based on a flaw or two I haven't yet managed to correct. Why discredit my faith and my attempts to improve because I haven't yet managed to fix everything?

Those who are toppers in the class also have to deal with harsh behaviors from those who could not "achieve" their goals or, let's say, average ones. The average ones justify that, oh the topper, they only know the "bookish" knowledge and don't know the real world. Just a thought. Great lesson, Ustadh! The other version of this story that I heard and learned from Ustad Nouman is from surah Ash Shams wherein Allah says "قد أفلح من زكها"..that verily (already) successful are those who are in the process of purifying themselves....!

Assalam o alaikum wrwb Ustaz Nouman, a very attention oriented description regarding time management . The best thing I like about your sessions is that you demonstrate the optimistic approach of Kalam-ullah & Sunnah but as the discussion is shared for making us understand the beauty of Islam so in that perspective I would like to share my own understanding that see we generally consider Surah Mulk is related to something about punishments of Allah (SWT), yes it is there too but the start of surah is assuring announcement that Alhamdulillah, Allah is the Master and has the power to "FORGIVE" , Subhan Allah. Keeping this clue in mind I want to share my reservation regarding the selection of high scoring sums to attempt first during an exam, this economical attitude could be fruitful for our general acedemic examination but for Deen I would prefer to start from minor good deeds but on constant basis so they will ultimately prepare us to move ahead safely and surely and who knows that Allah (SWT) will accept the minute good act of whom, like a palmfull of dates from a poor ahl-e-imaan had saved the whole donation of the beloved companionship of Hazrat Mohammad (S.A.W.W). Furthermore the persons like me will remain confuse while selection of numerous good deeds coz each noble virtue is so beautiful in itself that at least for me it would be difficult to select one as priority so better to do whatever nice stuff we can do when ever possible. Jazzak Allah o khairaan kaseeran kaseera.
القرآن - سورۃ نمبر 14 ابراهيم
آیت نمبر 1
أَعـوذُ بِاللهِ مِنَ الشَّيْـطانِ الرَّجيـم
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
الۤرٰ ۚكِتٰبٌ اَنۡزَلۡنٰهُ اِلَيۡكَ لِـتُخۡرِجَ النَّاسَ مِنَ الظُّلُمٰتِ اِلَى النُّوۡرِ ۙ بِاِذۡنِ رَبِّهِمۡ اِلٰى صِرَاطِ الۡعَزِيۡزِ الۡحَمِيۡدِۙ ۞
لفظی ترجمہ:
الٓرٰ: ا۔ل۔ر | کِتٰبٌ: کتاب | اَ نْزَلْنَا: ہم نے اتارا | ہُ: اسے | اِلَیْ: طرف | کَ: تیری | لِ: تاکہ | تُخْرِ جَ: نکالو آپ | النَّاسَ: لوگوں کو | مِنَ: سے | الظُّلُمٰتِ: اندھیروں | اِلَی: طرف | النُّوْ رِ: روشنی | بِ: ساتھ | اِذْنِ: حکم | رَبِّ: رب کے | ھِمْ: انکے | اِلٰی: طرف | صِرَاطِ: راستہ | الْعَزِیْزِ: عزت والے | الْحَمِیْدِ: خوبیوں والے

1. It was narrated that Abu Umaamah radiyallahu anhu said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Whoever recites Ayatul Kursi immediately after each prescribed prayer, there will be nothing standing between him and his entering Paradise except death."
2. Abu Hurairah radiyallahu anhu reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: He who says, "Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi' (Glory and praise be to Allah) one hundred times a day, his sins will be obliterated even if they are equal to the extent of the foam of the sea. (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)
3. Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophet said:“There are two statements that are light on the tongue, heavy on the scales, and beloved to the Most Merciful: Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi, Subhanallahil Azeem (Glory and praise be to Allah, Glorified is Allah, the Most Great.)” (Al-Bukhari)
4. Abu Hurairah reported that the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: He who repeats after every prayer: Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah) thirty-three times, Al-hamdu lillah (praise be to Allah) thirty-three times, Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest) thirty-three times; and completes the hundred with: La ilaha illallahu, wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu, wa Huwa ‘ala kulli shai'in qadir (There is no true god except Allah. He is One and He has no partner. His is the sovereignty and His is the praise, and He is Omnipotent) Will have all his sins pardoned even if they may be as large as the foam on the surface of the sea." (Muslim)
5. Zaid ibn Harithah narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whosoever says: 'Astaghfirullaha al-'Azeem al-ladhi la ilaha illa Huwal-Hayyul-Qayyum wa atubu illayh (I ask forgiveness of Allah, the Magnificent, than Whom there is no deity, the Living, the Sustainer of existence, and I turn to Him in repentance,) his sins will be forgiven even if he should have run away from the battlefield (while he was engaged in fighting for the Cause of Allah, which is a grave sin in Islam). (Abu Dawud and authenticated by Al-Albani)
6. The Prophet peace be upon him said "Whosoever recites Durood Sharief on me 10 times in the morning and evening, I will intercede for him on the day of Qiyamah." (TIBRANI)
7.Whoever reads Surah Ikhlas ten times, Allah will build a palace for him in Paradise. 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) exclaimed, "If that's the case, then we will increase in our palaces!" The Prophet ? (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) responded, "Allah is better and greater (in reward)." [Ahmad]
8. Whoever reads Surat al-Kahf on Friday, it wil act as a light/protection for him from one Friday to the next. (Bayhaqi)
9. Whoever performs their ablution carefully and then affirms (their faith by testifying): "Ash-hadu Al-laa ilaha Ill-lallahu wahdahu laa shareeka lahu wa ashadhu anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa rasuluhu; Allahumma-ja'Ini min at-tawaabeena waj-a'Ini minal-mutatahireen": 1 testify that there is no true deity except Allah Alone, Who has no partners, and that Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam is His slave and Messenger; O Allah, make me from those who repent and purify themselves' - the eight gates of Jannah are opened for him so he may enter through whichever of these gates he desires.[Tirmidhi]
10. Whoever says: "Radheetu billahi Rabba, wa bil Islaami Deena, wa bi Muhammadin sall-Allahu 'alayhi wa sallama Nabiyyan" - I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, and with Islam as my Religion, and with Muhammad as my Prophet, Paradise would be (made) mandatory for him. [Abu Dawud]
11. Whoever asks Allah for Paradise three times (Allahumma inni as'aluk al-Jannah), then Paradise will say: "0 Allah! Enter him into Paradise!" And whoever seeks protection with Allah (Allahumma ajirni min an-Nar), the Fire will say: "O Allah! Protect him from the Fire!" [TIRMIDHI]

(meaning you keep on getting rewarded for it, every time someone acts upon it even when you have died, until the day of judgement).

@@malikalshahbaz1861 the translations have not been made correctly to the extent that now I believe scholars are overlooking the text ...eg...ألست بربكم...its translated as "am I not ur lord" which is wrong ..because ب is not translated it means literally (of course) "was I not with ur lord"
