If you want to see what a champ looks like, just watch Kingston Town at the start of this clip...he makes top horses(Ming Dynasty 2 Caulfield Cups, 2 Australian Cups) look like second raters...I really doubt if Winx, as fabulous as she was, could have rounded up the black horse in those days...terrific to hear those old commentators...Ray Warren calling Beldale Ball's cup, Des Hoysted in Sydney and Vince Curry and Alan Thomas in Brisbane.
Agree, Kingston Town was a real champion. KT and Winx normally came storming home from back in the pack and both could sustain long runs. Let's put Vo Rouge in to make strong pace, it would have been something special to with KT and Winx make their runs together. Who wins?? Not sure :) Great race callers they were and keeps the special feeling when watch back the old races.
