just brilliant. how he is playing with the raga. never heard such a beautiful chhayanaat. only the rampur gharana walas sing chhaayanaat with any matching prowess.
Although an accomplished musician by all standards, bua did yoeman's service to indian music. I doubt whether any other vocalist of his generation or since him has trained so many outstanding musicians.
Buwa was never ever "under-rated"! He was always a master of masters! No less than Aftab-i-Mousiki Ustad Faiyaz Khan gallantly complimented young Gajananbuwa as a great fellow-seeker, and an able successor to the tradition of the mystical master Ustad Rehmat Khansaheb, who was worthy of sitting by the side of Faiyaz Khansaheb's side (so he said) rather than at his feet!

Th is by far the best rendition of Chhayanat I have heard, that by Mallikarjun Mansoor included.Prof. Yashpal of the Agra gharana has also rendered it beautifully.I agree with Mr. Mukut Dave that Malavika Kanan has not done justice to it and that Ustad Nisar Husain Khan was charming too.
Indu Bhushan Abrol Who says Vidushi Malabika Kanan hasn’t done justice to this raga ? With her robust Gwalior and Kirana background, unerring tunefulness and a voice as mellifluous as a nightingale she’s the one artiste whose LP record won this raga a whole lot of fans for the first time ever. Its a pity half baked music enthusiasts get away with arbitrary comments on TH-cam.
@@singerclas I am so heartened by your comment. I just happened to read the appallingly and musically illiterate insensitive comments (five years too late) ... calling them half-baked would be too kind: half-burnt is more appropriate
That gharenadar (traditional) off-beat bandish was created by Ustad Nissar Hussain's father-in-law, the great composer Ustad Inayat Khansaheb! There are many other great Chayanats too: Do listen to Bade Ghulam Ali Khan's Sugriva Ramkripa, for example and Malabika Kannan's LP too!
He was so under rated. I keep coming back to this rendition time and again. Simply divine
What a recording! The sarangi makes it even more awesome. Bring back that instrument to the mainstream, I say!
Yes I totally agree. Sarangi accompaniment gives such a beautiful touch!
My favorite Chaya Nat performance. Pt Gajananbuwa was one of greatest vocalist of the past century.
no wonder ulhas kashalkar is such a stud....these gents are soooooo underrated its criminal.
This has to be one of the most magnificent renditions of Chayanat that I have heard! Thank you!!
An epochal rendition, simply superb! I wonder which pitiable soul gave that solitary 'dislike' rating.
Awesome Chhayanat. I am still in search of Pandit ji’s Nebar ki jhanakar in Jhumra. Koti pranam. 🙏🙏🙏🙏💐💐💐💐
Best Chhayanat I have heard on a recording, and one of the best I've heard in any case.... Thank you so much!!

@subalternator
I agree. I am hoping that Buwa's real talent and his contribution will be recognised. Thanks to You Tube and other such websites.

What you say is true.
Unfortunately the 'establishment' did not appreciate nor recognised Buwa's talent and his genius.
very nice upload. Thanks a lot
M speechless here....!!!
Thanks for your comment. I agree with your remarks.
@RChakravarti
Thank you for your feedbak.
Just divine Why did they give up the sarangi as accompaniment?
Not many players and harmonium became mainstream
Please hear Pt. Tarapada Chakrabarti singing this raag. Ineffable. Search You Tube you will find it

The best rendition of Chayanut is by Nissar Hussain Khan with "Jhanan Jhanan Jhananananan baju bichuan
