SO JEALOUS! The Great Grey is my favorite species of the owl. I wish we had the habitat for them here in Louisiana. I had the experience of being around an owl for a week perched in my tree years ago when I was a little girl, after flying two feet away from me across my path to catch a snake I could of stepped on!! One the the most mystical things in my life I will cherish forever. Although your experience trumps mine by a MILLION. It's amazing he let you pet him, beautiful film.
There's this barn owl that perches on a tree by my window nearly every day, its kinda freaky cuz I have an orange cat witg white face and they look indentical.
@@Opeth12341 There is nothing wrong with supplementing their diets for them. Especially in winter! These people feed the wild birds. So what if they get beautiful shots of them which we would normally not see!!
What an amazing voice it has, and so fluffy and soft! When the owl fans out its tail feathers...one of the most Beautiful sights I've seen! It must have trusted you a lot to let you pet it. Thanks for sharing this wonderful video and I hope you have a wonderful weekend too!
Owls are birds of paradise to me. They are so beautiful. Great grey owl, snowy owl, horned owl, screech, barn... All of them. Amazing creatures of God.
I love the ending. The owl is sitting there and then looks at him like HEY!! What are you doing man?? I'm trying to rest here!. Great Greys are very tolerant of humans to a point. I have been that close to a wild one and that one didn't mind me at all. Yes you can get that close to them. Very beautiful birds.
Just made me tear up...so beautiful..beautiful creature and your essence allowed such contact...if only all humans could be like that with their avian inhabitants ( not to mention all other animals we share this planet with)...Thank you so much for sharing...Im sure its on your top 10 best life experiences :)
They look so soft! I wish I could touch one. I also noticed in the shot where the bird was hooting that the belly feathers are transparent. I could see the tail feathers through them.
Absolut fantastisk film! Jag är mycket imponerad och har njutit varje sekund! Stort grattis till ett fint arbete både bakom kamera som redigering!! /KD
Greater Owls are amazing. They take strangely to captivity because of their parabolic hearing. Honestly, if you could hear other birds within 300 feet of you and it sounded like they were 10 feet away, you'd be rather strange too. What nature gave them makes the unsociable to man. But they are so beautiful. I just find their behavior alien. Still, I love to watch them.
They regurgitate all the bones (and or fur)...usually people call this "Yakking" In high school, my class got to dissect a variety of owl pellets-which are the regurgitated remains of what an owl cannot digest. hopes this helps
This owl must have been baited with food by humans at one point. While it seems spectacular to be able to pet a wild owl, this behavior put this owl into harm's way. I hope he doesn't run across a person who will harm him.
P.S. And the proof is, this pair of owls (the female with some eyelid lesion) is living peacefully in the same location for 10 years (videos still coming up).
wow. do they regurgitate the bones at some point, or is it passed through the GI tract? the latter route seems like they may get predisposed to impaction or perforation.
I swear I was chased by these things once, maybe when I was like 5-6, I remember the face being more reddish but it was maybe my kid brain going nuts, I do know it had a disk face and was huge in my eyes
I was curious as to whether owls can taste. A search revealed nothing but strange idiocy. People would as the question, but the answer was always something like, "Owls have no sense of smell; they eat skunks." As if that was an answer.

I'm sorry, this owl looked like it was baited. There was nothing magical about this.

Alltså jag blir något så avundsjuk på dig! Vill också klappa ugglor!
That was rather amusing when the owl was sitting on your camera. It seemed to be curious as to what it had perched upon.
Extra ordinary beauty 👌
Superbe, merci👁

I've read that the great grey owl is very tolerant of humans and will often approach humans
Was the owl baited
3:44 Who dares touch-oh. Never mind. It's a human.
No concern. If I ignore him he'll go away.
Wow!
Very funny the video when the owl is on the camera! XD

Best owl))
생긴 게 무서워도 옆모습은 웃기고 귀여움ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Nice
😍😍😁😁
Amazing film. Thank you. Is that a tame owl?
he rules with a scepter in the Signet ring like a pharaoh

It depends of a place. Scandinavia is one of the safest if it comes to human attitude.
P.S. And the proof is, this pair of owls (the female with some eyelid lesion) is living peacefully in the same location for 10 years (videos still coming up).
@@vadimpm1290 that's great news about the pair of owls. They are very beautiful for sure!

Is that road traffic in the background?
Mr Owl, how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie pop?
I swear I was chased by these things once, maybe when I was like 5-6, I remember the face being more reddish but it was maybe my kid brain going nuts, I do know it had a disk face and was huge in my eyes
that owl rules
😍
Very cool
