    Skirmish rules sound like what I was hoping to get from Kill Team! Very cool.

    These look like good and very straightforward rules. I'm running a tabletop school club and getting a full system together that I can play off the bat with kids is not easy. I hope you guys have a lot of success:)

      Thanks so much! We love this game, so much fun and a nice one to use to teach new gamers. Good luck with your School club, that sounds awesome 👊

    Very nice system. What is the source for the red beret commandos minis?

    Looking great! Im gonna order the books, but what miniatures did you use in this clip?
    Do you have more suggestions?
    Iike the esthetics of these miniatures.
    Looking forward for your how tot solo/coop playthrough😇

      I used Infinity, Anvil Industry, and GW Catachans and Imperial Guard. The Solo video will feature Warlord Games Commandos, and Wargames Atlantic German Sentries. I also really like Hayland Terrain minis. If you have a 3D printer, there are so many awesome options available. I haven't properly explored that side yet. What era do you think you will like to play the most?

      You should look at Spectre Miniatures!

    I'm looking forward to trying the rules soon. Who makes that playmat with the broken pavers?

      Nice one! The mat is made by Warzone Studio (warzonestudio.com). They make some quality mats, details and printing are brilliant. I made a video here showing off a range of them: th-cam.com/video/w3_1eK2l7nw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=jYedTFPCpwXb_otG

    Fantastic video - thank you.
    I’m currently developing my own board game/war game to play with my little boys. I started with a hero quest template, as that was something I remember as a boy being pretty accessible. But I’m building off of that core foundation, in order to get some depth.
    I play currently with either a backdrop setting of Warhammer fantasy OR W40k… and have miniatures that fit those archetypes.
    I’m currently developing the W40 K version. And wanting to pick up some rules with regards to advantages of suppressive fire. In order to get some tactical depth into the gameplay. So I was interested to see when a target is pinned. And what does that require?
    So this video is giving me lots of ideas.

      Sounds awesome! Hero Quest is a great place to start. We did something similar with a fantasy game we are working on. Glad the video was helpful!

    Those rules look really interesting (and no premeasuring reminds me of infinity). Is there any chance for a tutorial game coming soon?

      100%, I'll be filming a demo game this week, and will make some demos with examples of the different mechanics in action.

    Action 1 - move/shoot. Must you move first? Or can you shoot first then move? This would be a consideration for the cover question below.

    • @tabletopskirmishgames
      @tabletopskirmishgames  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      During each Warrior activation, you will choose one Action Package and carry out the Actions within it. Actions may be carried out in any order.

    The cover mechanic seems extremely abusable like what if people start coming in with custom models in crouched or prone positions and what if a player with a normal model wants to go prone behind cover but they can't honestly i think the way the cover system works could use some tweaks

    • @tabletopskirmishgames
      @tabletopskirmishgames  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I wouldn't want to play against someone who went to those lengths to build a Team that are all crouched, but you are right, that could happen. It's up to the players to be reasonable and sporting.
      The only way to go prone is if a model falls a distance higher than 3". If the Fall is more than 3”, they lose 1 Heart and are placed in the prone position. So they wouldn't be able to go prone behind cover as an action. The LOS rules are "Draw an imaginary line from the top of the attacking Warrior's head to any part of the Target - but not including its base", so models built laying down will have some limitations.
      Necromunda uses similar cover rules, but in that game models can choose to go prone, and people do abuse that for sure. In my experience with Necromunda, they are usually the players that aren't fun to be around 🤣. We play-tested using prone as an action and that's one reason why we left it out.

      I think if we were putting together tournament rules, this would definitely have to be a consideration and we would need to make some rules for the model builds. Thanks for this 👊

      @@tabletopskirmishgames well I don't know how it works in necromuda but how about going prone is a action so you can't shoot and go prone on the same round and half movement when prone and can't move over tracky terrain and they can't shoot over cover but can't be shoot at when prone behind cover but count as light cover for all attacks beyond 6 inches at them and plus 1 to attacks rolls against them with in 6 inches ignoring height and getting up is the same as getting up after falling from a great height so need to use 3 of your MA to get up from being prone
      I think it both gives enough trade offs to not always use it but still be useful if you think it needs some other disadvantages if a prone character get in melee range they can still get up on there turn but they can't fight back well prone and the attacker just need to roll 4+ with the plus 1 to all there rolls to hit but just like melee attacks ignoring armor saves so a opponent catching your prone character in melee be very lethal

      What range of miniatures are you using?

    I was really excited to try this until you said pre-measuring isn't allowed! So those with better estimation skills get an advantage? Why no pre-measuring?
    EDIT: Also without pre-measuring how do I know where I'm going to be able to move when taking into account needing to reach another flat surface, or completing a climb? Do I just stop halfway up a wall, or is my whole MA wasted for the turn?

    • @tabletopskirmishgames
      @tabletopskirmishgames  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I like games without pre-measuring, but you can 100% include pre-measuring if you want to. We encourage players to experiment and tweak the ruleset to match their preferred way to play.
