KingBubbaHD Chicago Typewriter is what the Mafia called the gun back in the 1920s ya know Al Capone and people like that were the ones that named it that
The detail on Day of Infamy is great, I've never seen any other video game where the character actually checks the weapon to see if it's empty or just jammed, and then reloads, well done
“Part sinner, part saint. Known by a hundred names, an incredible gun that spits unbelievable tales. But the most amazing thing is... is that they’re all true.”
Wow Mafia had a surprising amount of reloading animation and sound effects for it's time, with the drum moving and falling to the ground and actually make a sound effect of it hitting the floor and surprisingly the reloading was pretty accurate as well
Surprisingly, Payday 2 nailed it the most. I was able to listen to the real thing live and record it, the game catches the characteristics of the mechanics while firing the best. Also, it's the one that definitely was mixed the best. Interesting side-note: The thompson operated from an open bolt, meaning in real life the following happens: When pulling the trigger, the first thing that happens is that the bolt snaps forward, catches a bullet from the magazine while doing so and finally fires it off with an integrated firing pin. As a result, you don't immediately hear the shot but rather the noise of the bolt snapping forward - very short, but very noticable and characteristic. Modern examples for weapons that fire from an open bolt are the M249 SAW, the M240GMG and the russian PK.
COD1 has one of the best sound design ive ever experienced...every time i play it..it looks like i am in a real war...there bullets flying everywhere and every directions..people screaming ...and the best thompson sound...
Darkest Hour!? How could you not include that! I always found Brothers in Arms to be particularly satisfying with the loud crack. It really felt like you were dealing some hard hits.
wow thats amazing, i didnt realise that thompson is in so many games. It reminds me of COD and Battlefield only but there is 30 games like this. Thanks very interesting video, i gave u like.
Man, I absolutely love the Thompson! It just looks so cool and is a beautiful piece of machinery! It has and probably always will be one of my all time favorite guns! I think Day of Infamy probably has the most detailed and best overall Thompson M1A1! I think BFV and post scriptom also do a great job portraying it, but they aren't in this vid. Good stuff! It's so fun to use in games. Some of these clips bring me back, man. The cod 1 and 2 thompsons were great, medal of honor Allied assault is nice too. My favorite old ones are probably from Medal of Honor Frontline and Cod 2 BIG RED ONE! Those were some of the first ww2 shooters I ever played back in the day, and I grew up with em, so they're special! In fact, Cod BIG RED ONE is still to this day my favorite cod! So good! Man, good times! ❤👍🏻 :')
The Thompson also appeared in Wolfenstein: The New Order (known as the SMG) and Bendy and the Ink Machine Chapter 3 (A More Cartoony version of the Chicago m1928 with the barrel magazine)
0:10 for some reason they thought that the bolt remains back for you when you run out of ammo, which is not true, you have to pull the bolt back before firing again when you fully unload your magazine
If you're talking about the charging handle the original Thompson design had it on the top of the weapon while the M1A1 variant famously used by American G.I.'s in WW2 had it moved to the right side. The original Thompson was designed with a "Blish Lock" mechanism that was ultimately found to be completely arbitrary so they removed it and opted instead for a standard blowback system that ended up working absolutely fine. So long story short: Handle on top = Original Prohibition Era Thompson with Blish lock. Handle on right side = Revised M1A1 WW2 Era Thompson with standard blowback operation.
Best Thompson M1A1 is the one from Killing Floor, good designe, much fun to razor through enemys and alot of ammo to fight also good to use on all difficultys in the game(some are insane hard).
Strange thing is that almost every game does it wrong. You don't need to pull the charging handle back after reloading. The thompson has a bolt catch. Only when you dry fire the gun you have to pull it back. TFBTV made a good video about that
The ASM 1 from advanced warfare is a Thompson in the future because on of the variants is called the speakeasy comes with a drum mag and for grip like the m1928 Thompson
Open bolt firearms usually have a higher rate of fire than closed bolt weapons, as the bolt simply has to return forward in order to fire. Open bolt weapons also do not necessarily have to be cycled when a magazine is empty, despite many games depicting them as being cycled after a magazine is emptied; there is one exception to this, however. If a fully automatic open bolt weapon were fired until it is empty and the trigger is continued to be held down even after the weapon is empty, the bolt will fly forward and stay there, at which point the bolt needs to be brought back to its rearward position in order to ready it to fire - gunwiki
The tommy gun firing sounds from the No One Lives Forever 2 and brothers in arms games are my most favorite. Would love a sound mod for those in Garry’s mod and Left 4 Dead 2 on Steam. And if there is love to know in a link!

It's World at War for me
Good job!
I really do appreciate that some games use the original civilian models, and not just the military models.
Hell's Highway and Battlefield Bad Company 2's Thompsons were so fun to play with
The Thompson also appeared in Wolfenstein: The New Order (known as the SMG) and Bendy and the Ink Machine Chapter 3 (A More Cartoony version of the Chicago m1928 with the barrel magazine)
Resident evil 4 has a Thompson (Chicago typewriter) but it's tough to unlock, so I don't blame this video for not having it.
6:18 most realistic sound, also I like the blurry effect while aiming as it's realistic how your eyes work when aiming, just a little too blurry
very nice!
Makes sense putting bioshock in there even though most of the other weapons are more supernatural
The sounds in Bad Company 2 are something unmatched to this day
Double barrel shotgun comparison in 30 diferent games pls
falont fighter yes
just throwing random ideas, but you can also try some RTS when it comes to WW2 guns.
Like, Company of Heroes, Men of Wars and stuff.
2:15 i thought the thompson was chambered in .45 acp, not 5.56.
15 years later and I’ve yet to find a better Thompson then in COD 2 :)
I love that game, the only thing missing is bieng able to sprint
As famous and influential as the Tommy might have been it has since faded into history and the popularity for the smg faded after WW2.
0:15 shot gun shells ejecting out of it lmao
i miss medal of honor. :( the best 1st person shooter for me. the legend
Resident evil 4?
Most games requires Thompson bolt to be pulled back before/after inserting a magazine.
John T. Thompson: *rolls over in a coffin*
Did anybody notice in GTA5 the bullet shells coming out of the gun aren't even the Thompson's bullets
0:10 for some reason they thought that the bolt remains back for you when you run out of ammo, which is not true, you have to pull the bolt back before firing again when you fully unload your magazine

Pls show your PC components in description! XD i need a new PC.
I don't know what's the original reload mechanism... Is it just like the ones in standard SMGs and ARs or it's on the iron sights?
If you're talking about the charging handle the original Thompson design had it on the top of the weapon while the M1A1 variant famously used by American G.I.'s in WW2 had it moved to the right side. You should do a “MG-42 in [number] different games” video.
My all time favorite gun. So beautiful

Best Thompson M1A1 is the one from Killing Floor, good designe, much fun to razor through enemys and alot of ammo to fight also good to use on all difficultys in the game(some are insane hard).

Ah yes the iconic Thompson SMG just that the standard clip magazine is much more seen.
Strange thing is that almost every game does it wrong. You don't need to pull the charging handle back after reloading. The thompson has a bolt catch. Only when you dry fire the gun you have to pull it back. TFBTV made a good video about that
Bad company thompson sounds so sick, but doesen't fit the common idea of what it might really sound like.
This is the first time i see a game name"No one can live forever" :))
The Thompson SMG is my favorite loading animation. So many of them.
BC2 sounded the best to me with those echoes.
Can you do a video of all the guns from the killzone series? Original to 4
BFBC2's Thompson looks like it has been through some rough times
fire rate pretty good
the classic treyarch ppsh in cod ww2 zombie:(minigun sound effect)

The ASM 1 from advanced warfare is a Thompson in the future because on of the variants is called the speakeasy comes with a drum mag and for grip like the m1928 Thompson
LOL at GTA V. BFBC2, Day of Infamy and Day of Defeat has the best sounds IMO

The sound is very accurate in cod ww2 and hell's highway and red orchestra 2.
What no Cthulu Dark Corners of the Earth?!!?
3:14 the best Thompson reload and sound
Hello Mr. Thompson!
Dude, how is King Kong and TimeSplitters not on here...?!
All of the gun sounds in MoH Airborne were actually recorded at a firing-range from multiple different angles.
Bad company will always have the coolest echoes, it’s so amazing
Medal of Honor had the Best Thompson in my opinion...High RoF... high dispersion, high recoil, and the sounds were recorded from the actual gun
Whenever you gonna do SPAS-12, please add Half-Life 1&2, would ya? Xb
