This Beautiful Ville is just about PERFECT! - although the tourism aspect is a bit of a sad, but...Necessary Reality for Uzes' continuance. As a lover of Medieval Music, and a composer, myself - I would love to spend 1 year here, devoted to composition, photography and writing - and have some time to explore the rest Occitaine Region. Absolutely SUBLIME!
This reminded me of my trip to India! Such a lovely, lovely place. Guys, if you think Bombay is old news.. think again. I highly recommend you visit two landmarks, the Zoo and the Mango shop built up upon a tree. They served e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g made with Mango. It is located in the heart of a jungle you can see monkeys swaying among branches. No, did not smell at all as there was no sight of bugging flies. Gifts of aromatics were awesome and don’t miss their traditional festive sweets. We biught sweets that had silver coating. So delicious and of course.. strands of jasmine blooms. India.. you will stay in my heart. 😌 True nature is beautiful and it is everywhere but each region is quite different. Europe is lovely but hard to compare it with Asia. 😊
The designation of Uzès as the 1st duchy of France does not fall under the seniority or the extent of the duchy because there are in France older and larger duchies but by this designation made in 1572 by the king of France Charles IX to the duke d"Uzès ,Antoine de Crussol , the king intended to reward during the wars of religion in France between Catholics and Protestants , the conversion of this Protestant aristocrat to Catholicism and Uzès while the other cities of the region Nîmes, Alès, Privas, Montpellier Protestant strongholds refused allegiance to the King of France. The Duke of Uzès and his descendants thus became First peer of the kingdom by this designation had the privilege at the announcement of the death of the King of France to proclaim the solemn formula "The King is dead, long live the King!" demonstrating the continuity of royalty.
