YES, OFFROAD BUILD!!! also im super stocked that your doing this because I was thinking of putting some LEDs in my car as well. My buddy put some in his F150 and it looks sick. I was straying away from it though because of that adapter that has to be on the factory headlights
@@ColtonRichter New update. I scored some LED headlights for free and their the most expensive bulbs we sell at the parts store I work for so I'm pretty excited to throw them in.
If you have a drill, it's surprisingly easy to restore your own headlights. Take a look at the 3m drill kit. I did it on my own 08 Mazda3 and it worked wonders
Just recently got a 05 Mazda 3 on my hands, just like yours. So what I’m gathering from this video is I don’t need to replace the entire headlight component. I can just simply replace the halogen bulb with an h7 led bulb and it will work?
@@ColtonRichter that’s good to hear! One more question, I noticed the halogen bulb you took out already had a spacer. Would it be possible to remove the spacer from the already existing bulb and fit it on the new led bulb i plan to install? Edit: I realize you post a bunch of content with your Mazda 3 and I subbed cause I’m tryna set up my car nice like yours, I’m a new driver
The plug that comes with my h7 LEDs doesn’t fit the oem harness. I tried plugging it into the socket that the halogens sit in and plug that into the harness but it feels wrong. Is there something I’m missing?
I find that the gen1 Mazda 3’s, even with LED bulbs still very dim. I ended up turning up the screw on the housings aiming up the headlights a bit. Huge difference even with halogen. The stock aim settings point down too much
I ended up just going with a 55w hid kit with 6k lamps and they're excellent and very bright at night and that's with murky lenses. Need to clean them and it'll be even brighter
1. Won't the led's heat sink melt the rubber gasket thingy? 2. Steam cleaning the engine - is there a possibility that it could somehow damage the led or maybe have some steam going into the headlight assembly?
1. No, I have 4 years of LED experience to prove this. 2. Couldn't tell you, if it does which it might, then remove the bulb and have a fan & heat to dry it out :)
I have an 06 Mazda3 that looks thats the same as this one. If you wan to put fog light in it, the cables might already be ran to the front bumper grills. Mine had the wire all in place and a relay fuse already in the car I just had to put them in and change the blinker lever out with one that had the addental fog light switch.
Few questions...the spacer you can just slip on? I saw another video and the guy took off the metal piece then slipped the spacer on. You can use any H7 correct? Even if it says it doesn't fit? Lastly is that groment necessary? Like do I have to put it back on? Don't really want to cut it.
1. The spacer is quite soft and bendy, easy to maneuver. 2. H7 is H7, don't listen to eBay's "this will not fit" when shopping for something that will definitly work. 3. No, but understand moisture in your headlight can happen without it.
@@ColtonRichter alright thanks! I guess I'll cut the groment like you did. Basically cut the grommet so the cable can fit through correct? Or do I cut so the heat sink/fan of the led can go through the grommet? Also that groment is easy to cut with a utility knife yeah?
@@ColtonRichter I have a 05 2.0l Mazda 3 my right side went out I’m think of getting led headlights do you need the spacer just for the headlight not the high beam or fog light those still work good for me
Hi Colton. Long time viewer. Was just wondering what would be your best suggestion be for headlight bulb for mt 2010 mazda3 hatchback. Ive seen so many different types but not sure which is best or appropriate size.
I agree, LED's are just a cheaper and easier solution. Disagree with LED's and reflector lenses, as they don't project light, they reflect which causes a constant high beam with LED's (Did it with the 323, and see multiple older cars with LED's in reflector lenses)
A good sanding and polish for the headlights will definitely help with the brightness.
Have the best day bro you fucking rock

Why didn't you use the spacer from the old bulb. It pulls apart.
Good Mazda 3 content.

No you can't. You don't really need a spacer, funny enough I actually don't think I ended up using them in this video lol

What bulb did you use I got an h7 and it was too big for the hole in the headlight
H7 is the one, try another bulb. Remember it is year specific
Were the previous headlights you recommended for the OG 2.0 better plug and play or more difficult? This seems rough, but the old video did too so rip
Incorrect, they're about the same if not, this was easier. The adapter makes it a bit luckier to get it secured, but not always lucky either way... 😂

H11
what brand are these lights
Some Amazon brand
Is that spacer a mazda 3 specific part
or is it h7- specific
or LED specific?
Which two things does it bridge?
H7 specific :)
link for the spacer?

No, they have rotate to lock sockets which does not require any additional parts to install!

If you don't have HID's and you have Halogen's, you'll want a H11 LED bulb. The one you buy is up to you, which involves research if you really care!

Projectors work better with HID. especially on mazda 3, LEDS are better for reflectors.
