    (For a video of Prevost X3-45 1325 on the QM20, click here: • MTA QM20 Express Bus R... )
Footage of 2021 Prevost X3-45 1315 operating on the QM2 route between Bell Boulevard & 23rd Avenue and 6th Avenue & West 42nd Street. This is one of 82 units which will be delivered to College Point Depot, to replace the 2005-2007 MCI D4500CLs and 2002 MCI D4500s.
These new 2021 Prevost have a similar interior to the earlier models, with some notable differences. One of the first things is the screens which show stops and geographic location of the bus on a map. Another visible change which is a benefit for riders is the location of the USB, which is located in the seat ahead of them. Other Prevost models have the USB chargers on top, near the stop request button. These buses also have seatbelts.
The QM2 is a daily express bus route, which operates between Bay Terrace in Queens and Midtown Manhattan, via 6th Avenue. This route serves some of the northernmost communities in Northeast Queens situated along the East River. Many areas are also affluent and have more of a suburban feeling. On its way towards Manhattan, buses serve greater Bayside, Beechhurst, Whitestone, Malba (Weekdays), and Flushing.
Other areas inland, such as Clearview, Linden Hill, and Mitchell Gardens, are served by the QM20 bus on weekdays. Weekend QM2 service operates via Mitchell Gardens, bypassing the Whitestone Expressway routing where it briefly enters Malba.

The big question lies.........where will the journey take the MCI D4500s (3000s)??????

      Scrap

@@carlossanchez-kz4wh I don't think so. They are very reliable buses........just look at Jersey. Their D4000s are probably approaching 800,000 miles and still running
The Chinese bus operators should try and get some of these. And other private operators. Also the MTA should think about donating these great buses overseas

@@milestone_achiever4634 He's not wrong. The only real reasonable answer to that question you asked for the MCIs (at least most of them) is scrap. It doesn't matter if the buses are reliable. If the MTA determines time is about to be up for a bus model to come off the road, time is about to be up. It's simply a matter of out with the old, in with the new. The MTA retired buses that reached the 20 year mark in great condition. The CLs are 16-18 years old and within the retirement age. The MTA can choose to let them run up to 20 years or retire all by next year but all will come off the road. They will have to retire them all eventually. Matter of fact, as of this comment, they retired almost 200 of these buses. I have no doubt they may give away a few or save one but the fact is all will stop run for the MTA in passenger service and at least most of them will see the strip down/scrap treatment. The MTA isn't really in the donating business but they do sometimes but I don't see them, or any US bus operator, donating buses overseas.

@@coastersparkxx6069 but it's such a selfish mentality. I have watched a lot of those Dangerous Journey documentaries and you see all these people using these dilapidated buses decades and decades old. Look at all the buses every transit agency nationwide has retired in the past 10 years alone. The buses that were still operable could have served all of these other poor countries around the world. It is such a selfish mentality that I can not comprehend.

@@milestone_achiever4634 Well I don't know what to say to that 🤷‍♂. It would be nice to have the buses sent away elsewhere around the world but it isn't the case as far as the US is concerned. It's the reality we live in.
