I watched THREE supposed "Full Walkthroughs" for the Elation before yours. NONE had showed the Serenity Adult Area at the back of the ship!!! Thanks for giving a TRUE complete walkthrough.😍
@@mamasram just depends how good you are at finding deals and how easy you can get time off work for last minute types of deals. Also to be considered is how “classy” or basic you’d like to travel. My dad and I just booked one on this ship that started at $184 per person for a 5 day cruise. Of course there are a few port charges and things but those usually aren’t much either.
I was definitely nervous my first cruise and have even canceled quite a few before that, but it really was awesome I fell in love with cruising. I sure hope you have an amazing cruise!! This is a great ship too!
It makes me happy to see this ship still sailing. Elation is one of only two survivors of Carnival's Fantasy class elimination. I'm glad it finally got the Water Works upgrades. Back in the day, I hated when I'd get bumped from Fantasy to Elation, because it lacked the water park. Hope I can sail either this ship or Paradise at least one more time before they decide to retire them.
Great ship tour, and it's great to see how good the older Carnival ships are looking. I actually docked beside this ship on my first cruise in the Caribbean a few years ago, and never thought to check out a tour until you popped up on my feed. Also, I'm in the process of putting together 4 ship tours from recent ships I've sailed on, so you've been great inspiration for me - thank you! :)
Thanks 😊 i was surprised how it was pretty nice too, its actually nice to not have such a massive ship to explore and yes the ship tours are worth your effort!!
Hey thanks Anything Roam! 😊 I enjoyed this ship I though it would feel small or crowded but it was nice, I would sail it again. Thanks for your comment have a great day!
This ship is surprisingly wonderful to me. It's an old ship and a small ship, compared to the rest of the fleet, but it was so nice inside. We loved it!
Going next year (2024) with my uncle, aunt, and my mom. We have inside cabins on deck 7 just aft of the funnel! My uncle and aunt got their own cabin. Mom and I will be sharing the (twin ?) Cabin. I may love my Mom, but not enough to be sharing a bed with her 😂 ! I've been checking on reviews on the CARNIVAL ELATION to see what it has to offer and what other people say about the times on board. Thank you for doing this tour!
Hi Shawn!! That is very exciting!! Yay! You're probably going to fall in love with cruising, its great! Have a lovely trip, make tons of memories and enjoy every minute! 😄
I weant on this ship in 2014 and the only waterslide they had was this liitle blue slide and i can still remember the wooden table in the pool and me and my cousins walking across it
I wish they'd build newer ships more like this again. Not necessarily stylistically, but just in the sense that it's about CRUISING. It's about great places you can find to sit, drink, talk, read. Tons of space despite the small size. Ships four times this size have nowhere near this much space for people to make their own.
I love your comment! Yes I totally agree, finding those places to get away from the craziness of life and relax, there's so many good spots, even better when you're cruising with friends too visiting is a big part of the cruise. Bigger ships, more people and less comfy common space
Good video. We did the Mardi Gras last year and that was a behemoth ship. Was fun, but wanted a smaller ship this time with less walking and less flash. Concentrating on the basics and relaxation of a cruise.
Thanks James! Have a wonderful time on your cruise, you might get hooked on cruising and love it!! I really did like this ship even without all the extra restaurants, comfy chairs in Alchemy if you find yourself over there smile, enjoy! 😊
This is the best representation of the carnival elation. Thank you so much. I've been on this ship 2 times this year and you made me realize that there is much more to see and do.
I am coming to realize that "bigger is not always better". Having sailed on the 110,000 GT Carnival Glory and equivalently sized VV Scarlet Lady, I have found them to be a little crowded. At first I was interested at some of the mega cruisers that have come out especially from RC, but now I shudder to think about just how many passengers are crammed onto those massive vessels. I think I will try to get on Elation out of Jacksonville or maybe the slightly larger Spirit out of Mobile to see what it's like to cruise on a slightly smaller ship.
This is the only cruise I've ever been on, back somewhere between 2003 or 2004. It was the summer before 2nd or 3rd grade, we went to Belize, Cozumel, and 1 other location, which I can't remember, good times. I would love to get the full experience now as an adult.

We are going on this ship at the end of November out of Jacksonville. Do you know if it will be decorated for the holidays? I'm also so surprised as we just got off the Magic how much bigger the pools are and just space in general.

Went on the Elation back in 2010 leaving from the port of Mobile, AL, 4 day cruise to Cozumel, MX. Back then it was my first cruise so I was excited to see everything. But now that I’m older, it’s nice to see they’ve done some renovations however, the design is a bit dated. The design definitely screams 80s-90s art deco style. Then there’s the size of the ship. With more and more ppl cruising now that Covid is over, the Elation simply put isn’t big enough to hold many passengers. The Elation honestly didn’t have much to do or specialty restaurants besides the main dining rooms and the 24 hr buffet. Just from watching this video, it still looks as if there’s not much to do so, a ship this size and age might benefit from an older crowd that isn’t into the diverse activities offered aboard the newer ships.
