Me either, yet here we are. It would've been better if they some type of animated sequel (whether it's a series or a new movie) or just leave the franchise alone.
Mufasa and Scar are a classic Cain and Abel story. Because God favored Abel, Cain killed Abel out of jealousy only to end up cursed. This is like if you had them as step-brothers instead of blood brothers. It's supposed to be significant that they are related by blood because it means they grew up together and have a special connection, which makes the betrayal worse. This is missing symbolism as old as folk tales as this point.
What hurt about Snow that historically it was Walt Disney's 1st film that he put up his house for mortgage just to get the movie finish and now this feels like a spit in the fact of what Disney could of been back then
I don’t think Toy Story 5 will handle the issue of “IPad Kids” very well. For one, Toy Story has never really done social commentary in their movies before and it’ll obviously beat audiences over the head with its message “kids raised by tablets is bad”. Second, people and organizations are already trying to deal with the issue of iPad kids so there’s a possibility that the movie will get dated in a few years. And finally having Classic Toys put up against electronics is overshadowed by the fact that children’s toy lines have been dropping in quality for the past 10 years.
It always seemed to me that that contrast between traditional and electronic toys (and therefore, by extension, also video games) had already been dealt with in the first two films (especially Toy Story 2), so... what's the point of bringing up this topic in a future film? Also...wasn't there already Wreck-It Ralph as love letters to arcades? A film that remains extremely enjoyable to this day and, strangely enough, presents no contrast whatsoever between arcades and tablet games, or mmos or any other non-cabinet video game.
@@animezilla4486I mean, can you blame them? They make way more money off of sequels and remakes than they do off of original movies, because audiences have a hard time giving something new a chance. People like to blame the movie industry as to why so many sequels and remakes are being pumped out, but they mostly forget that audiences are just as much to blame for them; audiences watch these sequels, that’s the problem. Until people start realizing how cheap most sequels and remakes are these days are and how much more innovative and interesting original movies can be, these types of movie will continue to be made.
@@PatrickWDunne Did they really give people a choice they don’t market stuff that are new and push for the remake and sequel like no tomorrow your average person isn’t going check what Disney going to make every year they going to past by an ad of Toy Story 5 and not notice what original that isn’t being shove at them anywhere like what happened to treasure planet they’re never learn
It was my headcannon that Andy left the toys she would play with them and once Andy got a wife and kids she would give them back. So Andy's children would play with his toys as well when the time was right.
Agree also remember the underrated Halloween special that's a hidden gem I refuse too recognize ice Toy Story 4, and upcoming 5, as even existing due too how non canon they are
Honestly, I believe the second one is the canonical ending. Sorry, but the third one upon hindsight is really overrated. It's mostly made as an excuse to make the audience cry, but only if they grew up with the series, and that whole plot point of Woody leaving the others over a misunderstanding was just stupid. Why can't characters in movies simply talk and listen? So many problems could be avoided!
A soulless corporation that just milks all the IPs they own wille thinking that *money, fame* and *pandering* are a replacement for *creativity, time* and *good storytelling* Ironically this attempt at expensive yet low effort money making is killing them, most of thier visuals are *trash,* most of their storys are *trash* and their progressive messages are, at *best,* empty words
Modern Disney has completly TWISTED the legacy that's the company started on. Walt's most famous quote is "we make money to make movies, not make movies to make money" which modern Disney completely switched out the phrases. Hell, JUST LOOK AT THE MCU AND STAR WARS!!! They should give their creators the time and creative liberty to create their stories and art rather than trying to make an infinite money glitch.
That's why the MCU was doomed from the start. They didn't approach it with the 'build a story and go from there' mentality. They just farted out slop because they made money REGARDLESS of their quality Which ultimately culminated in Infinity Bore curb stomping fifteen years of movies to basically say that the villain was in the right and we should be GLAD that THE VILLAIN OF THE FRANCHISE achieved his goal of committing cosmic genocide
@@mazkeraid4039 What you are trying to say is that Blackrock and Vanguard did try to apply them money that Disney cannot resist. The DEI on the other hand, not too much evidence going on.
@@phoenixmorphix I personally think inside out 2 and the Deadpool and Wolverine movies are going to be the cinematic equivalent of a caffeine addiction rush spiked with alcohol for the Walt Disney company.
When will Disney learn that nobody wants the live-action remakes? The only reason they make money is because there are more theaters in the world than when the classics were released.
They'll learn when people stop going to see them; every time you or someone pays to go see one of these remakes, they make another. Speak to Disney with your wallet.
Because people hatewatch them. And PAY to hatewatch them. Just pirate it. Or better yet, don't watch it at all, don't talk about it, and let it fade into obscurity.
Not looking forward to the Snow White remake. Also, do they just call her The Evil Queen or remember her name's Grimhilde? Now, instead of Hamlet with Lions, where Scar is just a power hungry jerk willing to kill his brother and nephew to seize it because he couldn't overpower them, here he's someone who helped Mufasa get adopted into his royal family (who still named him Trash) an Mufasa somehow usurped his position as heir. I can see why people prefer The Lion Guard over this. Hopefully Zootopia 2 turns out good.
Zootopia seems to be the best one to make a sequel with. Since they didn't visit all the areas of zootopia and its a buddy cop movie. So they could just have another mystery bringing them to visit other parts of the city and expand on the lore.
Grimhilde's name was never mentioned in the entire movie. I saw it in 1993, when I was 11. I didn't find out the Wicked Queen (you call her what you want, I'll call her what I want) even HAD a name until I was in my 30's.
I've shared this opinion once and I'll keep sharing it because it's left me immensely puzzled: Why is Snow What having the Dwarves clean? OG Snow White cleaned the cottage of the Dwarves in hopes of being allowed to reside within safety from the wraith of her stepmother. Even after she introduces herself, Grumpy still immediately exhibits his distrust towards her and attempts to convince his companions to remove her from their dwelling. It's not until she pleads with them about The Queen's sinister motives while also proclaiming she'll keep house in exchange for shelter that they take pity on the fair maiden and allow her to stay. These 'miniscule alterations' are what ultimately lead to the destruction of character arch's within these modernized Disney Remakes/Reboots!
This is one thing I liked about Snow White. She was willing to do her share of the work. She wasn't above hard work just because of her royal status, and she didn't want to be a freeloader. There's something about the live action version of her that really bothers me, but I just can't put my finger on what it is.
I'm surprised Zootopia 2 didn't come out way earlier. The first movie was a pretty big hit. I think only mammals are considered citizens in these movies because you didn't see any birds or reptiles or insects or fish in the first movie.
It is probable that reptiles and birds exist (even if, to be honest, we didn't see bats in the first film, nor marine mammals, who knows if they had done any concepts?), but live in some area distant from the lands inhabited by mammals . I'm very curious to see what they will come up with in the next film, especially on a narrative level to justify the involvement of two policemen... a corruption case in the reptile city, and Judy and Nick are called in as consultants? One of the two ends up in trouble and it's up to the colleague to help him/her?
I don't know why they'd want to do the "live action" Lion King again. Bring back 2D animation or, at the very least, animation that isn't mean to look realistic.
Its cheaper (while still being wildly expensive), easier, faster, and all of that. I wonder why they don't try to make 3d models look 2D. Like with Hi Fi Rush. Edit: actually, that mickey mouse interview thing looked like a mocapped 3d model, and it was horrible, they should just stick to actual 2D.
I always just assumed Zootopia world rules were only mammals were anthropomorphic. Insects, birds, and fish are unchanged between ours and their realities.
Iirc during preproduction they played heavily with having birds and reptiles, but ultimately decided against it for a combination of story and production reasons.
That's exactly the problem I have with this. Also, the fact that they eat fish in this sequel seems to suggest that the inhabitants of Zootopia are unashamedly cannibals.
They did show off 2 original Pixar movies with Elio and Hoppers, and a new original Disney animated film comes out in November 2026, so it’s not exclusively sequels and remakes. I just hope those 3 are good and they become successful to prove that originals still have a place at Disney.
They are prioritising remakes and sequels to come out in theaters first but we gotta wait 2 years for them to release something original? Gee, Disney. I can't freaking wait.
I don't know why in toy story 5 we can't just follow a new group of toys and have it be that technology is making kids play with video games more. Which weirdly enough they already did a short about that where a group of toys, because they've never been played with. Decided to make their own society based on the lore they were based on.
It feels like Disney completely dropped the ball on Zootopia. That was one of their biggest, original hits in recent memory, and it took them like nine years to get a sequel out? I know that it takes long time and lots of work to make a movie. But if you think back to 90s, Disney was capitalizing on their hit movies relatively quickly. Aladdin, Hercules and Little Mermaid all got TV series pretty fast after the movies came out. I have no idea why they didn't do something similar with Zootopia.
It feels like we're going back to the Disneytoons era with the mass sequel production over a substantial amount of noteworthy original projects. Though even the Disneytoons era had the novelty of bringing back classic-era Disney faces and old school hand drawn animation (eg. The Tigger Movie or Bambi II), not to mention the main studio making Fantasia 2000, the one sequel Walt WANTED to do because it has actual ambition and experimental scope to spread across multiple projects.
They're out of new ideas- at least ones that will MAKE MONEY, instead of insulting Disney's OWN CUSTOMERS and driving the company further into You Know What.
It's a slap in the face to actual Lilo and Stitch fans. They milked the franchise until it was dead (Lilo and Stitch, Lilo and Stitch: The movie, Leroy and Stitch, Stitch has a Glitch, The TV show) just to abandon and gut the only Stitch ride Disney had. They don't even care about this movie. It's all about greed.
@@DelicateRedRose I also just "love" how the stitch animatronic from that ride looks better than the 3D animated one they showed. Leave Lilo and Stitch alone Disney.
I hate the Snow White remake even more not because of its female lead, or the Dwarves stuff, but because it feels like such a huge slap in the face to Walt Disney and everything he sacrificed to make Disney's first animated film happen in the first place. He literally had to mortage his house to pay for the costs. He put everything on the line to prove to people that animation can be used to tell stories. So it feels like a huge spit in the face of his memory to see Disney apparently see animation so worthless that they need to remake their first film in the "superior" live action format.
@@xgray2012No I was giving another reason besides said controversies, literally the SAG-AFTRA Strike affected the release dates of several films including Snow White. No reason to act so obnoxious.😒
Thank you for making these videos you dont have to read the comment. Just wanted to say thank you for such great content. Especially now that disney is just grinding out cash grab content. For Snow White remake. Whistle while you work says more than I think disney intended. Snow white is no longer repaying kindness with kidness, by doing something that no other real princess would do. Get her hands dirty and do basic chores to repay someone that is helping them. By framing her making the dwarves clean up the place saying, "oh look she's the fairest because she's teaching the dwarves, who have been living on their own for years. Who might actually know how to clean because their minners and should now about equipment maintenance. Who might also have a messy house because they work 9-5, and they walk 3-4 hours to work every day. So the reason they might not have a clean home, is because they don't have the time in the day to do it." With that she might have them cook for her, and it can't be empowering if she let's the dwarves fight the queen. Or have the prince save her at the end. In which I'm betting he might be the twist villain at the end.
I'm actually fine with 4. It serves as an epilogue. Not really necessary, but not pointless either. But 5 might just be the one where I draw the line. The epilogue of a story is supposed to close everything and put the story to rest. A spin-off or a TV series, fine, but not a sequel. That is it. There is really no more. The conflict doesn't seem all that big either. There is just very little stakes involved. Might work as an episode for a TV show or a special (like Toy Story That Time Forgot which actually have a similar premise) but not as main conflict of a full blown movie.
I'll give credit that the concept of the plot involving children being stuck on their tablets and smartphones all the time, resulting in them not playing with toys anymore. That could give some good commentary on how a lot of Gen Alpha is basically being raised by technology.
IIRC, George Lucas said in an interview that creatives aren't being heard anymore. If you present a unique and interesting idea to the board, they generally don't accept it unless you phrase it like, "Oh, it's [Zootopia, Lion King, etc.], but with [wolves, humans, LGBTQ+ themes, etc.]". No one is allowed to make a creative and unique property anymore because, according to Lucas, "You are a creative having to pitch to a group of people with no imaginations." It's honestly such a shame.
I agree with you that Fish not being intelligent is odd, but I think it's the same problem that Cloudy with a chance for meatballs 2 had: If everything is sapient, what do the characters eat? I think they kinda had to draw the line at fish because it was the easiest way. The predators can't all survive off of ice cream.
You do realize that was a Lost World: Jurassic Park situation where the Food Creatures had evolved and developed their own ecosystem, right? None of the food was actually ALIVE in the first movie
Peter. Ontop of the fact you want to be the only actor with dwarfism, the Dwarves are probably one of the richest beings in Disney. I'm sure Scrooge McDuck would be Jealous of the fact that the Dwarves have an entire mountain filled with Jewels. To the point it might be 70% diamonds. They walk to work everyday might work 9-5 and they head back to their house. They were the heroes in the film, because as soon as the found out the Evil queen killed snow white. They became a force of nature and killed her. So really the Dwarves were the MVP of the movie and a lot of people would've loved to play happy, doc, sleepy, grumpy, sneazy, dopey, and bashful.
I appreciate Mufasa taking the CGI criticisms to heart and trying to make the animals more expressive, but what strikes me about the story is that it feels eerily similar to the Bond and Blofeld backstory from the Craig era Bond movies, with Bond being an orphan adopted into a new family and gaining more favor with the parents than Blofeld. If Mufasa ends with Scar killing his parents in an avalanche, I'm calling plagiarism.
I'm so sick and tired of these soulless remakes/sequels But this trend ain't going anywhere, cause people nowadays are so addicted to nostalgia, trying to feel that long gone childhood glee again to fill the void in their lives.
But here's the problem: If these people are addicted to Nostalgia, why can't they re-watch these older classics from their childhood instead of watching the modern live-action remakes of their childhood classics? Is it really that legally/socially taboo for these Nostalgia-driven people to rewatch these older animated classics from their childhood nowadays? 🤦♀️🤦🤦♂️
Yeah, seriously. Like, if you're so nostalgic over a movie, just go back and watch it. Don't bother with something that's pretending to be like it but without all the heart and soul.
Nice deflection. From what I've seen, all these hopeless "nostalgics" who are supossedly ruining everything ARE the ones not bothering to watch the shlock Disney's putting out and instead rewatching the classics. The instigator here IS DISNEY. Their abysmal ticket sales, watch retention, and online fan ratings are pretty clear evidence that the "fans" DONT WANT THIS. But yeah, Elizabeth down the street who wants to see a snippet of her childhood but instead leaves the theater disappointed and empty, this is HER FAULT, not the fault of the company that puked up dozens of unwanted cash grabs and baited people into giving them the benefit of the doubt that they were attempting to make actual quality content, definitely the multimillion dollar company that's currently choking and spiraling is just being coerced by all those ruthless nostalgic moms.
So much of Disney seems so dystopian at the moment.... I love Robert Downey Jr. As much as the next guy, but seeing him come out on stage, as a prior convicted felon, to the applause of millions of fans, raking in $80 million, but return to the MCU, in a very uninspired casting choice, after only 5 years of being absent, was so horrifically jarring, I had to make sure that I wasn't in The matrix.... Now we have this creepy looking mufasa movie, in this even more horrifying Snow White trailer, with disgusting and abhorrent CGI....im just devastated this is the state of our media.... it's sad....make your own art people. Its our god given right to be creative!!
@@KRobinson-ko1ne a lot of my friends asked me if I was going to end it tonight....my thoughts do not come from a place of despair, but quite the opposite, it comes from a sense of completion.
Having the dwarves help Snow White clean the cottage entirely misses the point of the bargain they made. The Snow White/Cinderella/Sleeping Beauty parable is the female version of the hero's journey. After escaping her evil mother and braving the perilous forest, Snow White makes a deal with the dwarves: they allow her to stay if she takes care of the home while they work in the mines. The "womanly duties/women must be maids" stereotype doesn't apply here imo because it was a trade of time/labor established BY Snow White. At this point in the parable, she's near the her peak of heroism, establishing that being good to others gets your farther than being evil.
At least they are giving the CGI animals more expression. The biggest criticism of the first remake was that you couldn't read the animals and scenes like Simba watching Mufasa die looked really bad.
Frozen 3. I just hope its better than frozen 2 Toy story 5: You ended the movie series twice now, what more do you want. Incredibles 3: I hope they can have an actual villain this time I really like the idea of going back to syndromes island because something was going on. Zootopia 2: I think that actually does seem like a good movie for a sequel.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarves is my maternal grandmother's favorite animated Disney movie. When it came to theaters in 1993, the whole family went to see it, and I liked it a lot. I'm not looking forward to the live action remake. I seriously don't like how everything made in the 1930's through the 1950's has to be "fixed." Why can't people understand the whole "product of their times," and they can't really review something made 90 years ago with today's mindset? It just makes me really ticked off for some reason.
Africa often has dry periods where rivers dry up. It's the main way the hippo population is kept under control. So that river bed probably isn't permanently dry in The Lion King.
1939 Disney disproves haters and makes a cartoon as a legit movie Yeeeeeeaaars later his legacy is spit on by thinking a cartoon NEEDS a live action remake 😔
Disney has lost their creative touch. Disney movies back then focused on emotion, color, and wonderment, the music really brought out a lot of that. Now it feels lifeless like it’s not even Disney anymore, it’s just a corporate movie. I’ll bet if past Disney saw how present disney is what with all these remakes and sequals, the emotion is gone from the music and now it’s all garbage…… they would cry for what Disny has become.
The main problem with the casting of Snow White is that she is not this epitome of innocence and sweetness. She's bubbly and joyful, sure, but it's not the same thing. You know that quote about "your face knows what an iPhone is"? Yeah, Rachel feels like that to me. Also this is much more shallow, but to me it's also a wasted chance to cast someone a little bit less skinny. Snow White has a lot of softness and roundness to her design (even taking aside the beauty ideals of her time, it's again a visual shortcut for warmth and kindness and femininity) and it's missing here visually (the weird bob doesn't help). If they wanted to emphasise purity symbolism and cast a Latina, why didn't they go with someone with a fuller figure?
Dinklage just doesn't like the concept of a fantasy dwarf. Elves aren't real. Orcs aren't real. But dwarves are a real thing, and they are human... so Dinklage doesn't like the idea of Dwarves being considered a fantasy creature. I always thought of fanatsy dwarves as a fantasy humanoid creature, like Elves or Gnomes... completely different than humans with dwarfism, with different proportions and so on. And that the reason that real human dwarfs would play fantasy dwarfs in movies was out of convenience. For example, that's why Gimli was played by a non-dwarf actor, because they wanted to make him look like an actual fantasy Dwarf. I understand both points of view... but Dinklage has too much influence because of his fame.
Dwarves as they appear in Germanic mythologies are not vertically challenged humans. They are completely different species that Odin created from worms. So you can't really say that a dwarf and a little person are the same thing.
I can see that but if that's the case why replace the dwarfs with seven magical creatures? Everyone will associate them with the dwarfs whether their short or not seems like it's only enforcing the fantasy dwarf mindset. "We need to replace seven little people? Let's get seven wizards!" Although to be fair that's not Dinklage's fault, doesn't look like he has any say in that, just Disney being stupid.
This is true, but even in context he makes it clear that he has 0 idea what he's complaining about. "A backwards movie about Dwarfs living in caves??" betrays he not only doesn't realize that fantasy Dwarves are NOT humans with the real condition of dwarfism (just like fantasy Giants aren't humans with growth conditions), he doesn't even realize that the Dwarves are portrayed as kind, hardworking, successful, enchanting HEROES and not some thing in a cave that the main character is meant to ogle at.
2:56 This might be unrelated but speaking of wasted casting opportunities that could have to anybody else. I've heard this opinion being said before and I agree with it: Why didn't they cast an albino actress to play Snow White? They also barely get any sort of representation in media at all! It would have been quite clever and a bit funny. And it would give albinos some freaking representation! You know? The thing Disney claims they oh so want?!
0:35 they already made a short about this, and why is Woody back he was stayed behind at the carnival to stay with Betty. And I thought this was fake like a joke, a dark joke at that (the kid entered puberty and is learning about the bees birds stuff).
Omg I haven't caught that Stitch teaser!! I gotta say... Even CG, he's cuuuuute. But it feels like his eyes are too small, at least not quite expressive enough, and his movements are right acting, just slightly off pitch - in the sense that he's again not as quick and expressive as the cartoon; but maybe that actually suits a "live action" version better and will actually fit a real world. Either way. I cannot pretend my interest is not peaked at all
I wonder if they had Taka and Mufasa be step brothers instead of being blood related in order to make it closer to Thor and Loki in Ragnarok. Ik that seems like an unnecessary change to make that dynamic, but that seems to be what modern Disney is all about so y'know.
what's gonna happen when they run out of movies to remake? there's only so many. you can't exactly remake a movie you remade like 5 years ago, and people are going to stop watching sequels after a point, nobody is going to show up to theaters to watch toy story 7
@@EvieRawlings half the time most of those were repeating the same story and borrowing tropes between eachother so "different story" can only account for a fraction of them and those are just the only good ones
@@nightwish1453 True... I don't want to come off like I'm praising the sequels but still there are those fraction of the good sequels that I still think are leagues more entertaining than the remakes.
Im likewise worried about Moana, Im uncertain how many episodes they were intending but it could have been anywhere from 8 to 20 episodes or 4-10 hours, which would mean they were made to condense an 4-10 hour story arc into a 90 - 120 minutes. The trailer looks great though.
I'm so disappointed in how cheap Snow White looks. It was such an important movie in not just Disney history, but animation history as a whole, and to see its legacy and influence either forgotten or ignored is just sad. The original was so charming, and while very dated (you have to remember what an artistic and technological marvel it was at the time), I wish they would have built upon that instead of giving us this. That, and I was really hoping to see more actors with dwarfism get famous parts in movies. I thought Disney wanted diversity? I genuinely want that kind of diversity! Come on Disney!
This was something that did concern me with inside out 2 being so successful. I was worried the message they might get is that people want sequels, but in reality they just want good movies.
I remember being curious about and interested in every new Disney release -- not just the Renaissance stuff, but back during the 2000s to the 2010s too. I'd go on Wikipedia and see what they had in the works. Nowadays? I don't even bother looking up anything about Disney because they're not doing anything new. I feel nothing.
It's been years since I took cinema seriously; I find myself rewatching my favorite movies over and over instead of exploring new ones. Maybe it's because I'm getting older, haha. But honestly, I'd love to regain hope in entertainment overall, though it's been tough lately.
I already questioned the existence of Toy Story 4. Now they made another one? And who asked for another Incredibles movie? Frozen 3, what? And a Lilo & Stitch live-action remake? It's all bonkers, mate.
Are we goin to talk about the fact that Disney is perfectly aware about the fact that they're making way too many sequels, to the point where they put that joke in their products, but despite they don't do anything about it?
It is still in production! The anime however might not be released until the completion of book 7 in the game or the completion of the manga considering the release trend in Japan rn DON’T GIVE UP HOPE!
but the point of Snow White is that she's a genuinely good person because power corrupts but she hasn't gotten that power yet! and the whole Kimba Lion King thing is so funny to me! Kimba came first, then The Lion King released and then Kimba made a film that basically ripped off Lion King causing people to think that was the original
Indeed. He hated the idea of sequels and remakes. He saw each of his movies as an experiment. And if the experiment is a success, then why do it again?
Is that really a big surprise it was a let down? Disney ain’t getting better and once the company goes under it will end on a sad and sour note overall
What do you mean facepalm? Dude this was a theory since the 90s! He was named scar because of his scar so it makes sense that he got an different name back then and then got his scar and then he names himself Scar. This is the most popular theory about the lion king!
Ikr - not only that Toy Story 4 was bad, yet, the fact that Woody is back with the toy gang despite having left them for Bo Peep at the end of that film has created a massive plot hole between the films; which is...HOW????
You can see the structure of modern movies in 3 parts Making EPIC trailers for cgi slop with godawful music mixing and reverb and that drum track Trying to appeal to a diverse audience moreso than ever before including casting, and ignoring the actual story or script, or in the case of reboots: making it as cheap copy paste as possible Blaming fans for hating anything
Can't say I'm impressed by any of these upcoming projects. Everything about modern Di$ney repels me to the point of apathy. And I still haven't forgotten how Klaus was robbed of Best Animated Feature for TOY STORY 4. 🤦 If there was ever more proof necessary that the Oscars don't mean anything, there it is. Looking forward to your Snow White video.
@@pdaigle531 It's not simply about liking or disliking, it's about artistic value, integrity, merit. Toy Story 4 is creatively bankrupt and has very little to offer in terms of quality, especially when compared to a modern masterpiece like Klaus.
I'm excited for literally none of these. Before the live action remakes were just bad, but now they're actually stepping into being legitimate nightmare fuel. The CGI in that Mufasa trailer is just so disgusting to look at.
You know, for Toy Story they should go with a risker yet new direction of it being about a new set of toys somewhere else. Sure it isn't about the main set we all came to know and love but their story from the growth of children to adults and how they relate to their toys was flawless so we don't need to drag them into a new story. Especially how bad 4 was and.... Woody is back with them? Snow White is one of the most important films of all time. It was the first animated film and the story while simple as can be was just fantastic. So for them to even think they could recapture that with how they've been going with the others is nothing but insulting. As for the Mufasa movie, there is one thing they got right. That being Scar was called Taka before being called Scar. Yeah that was some trivia thing I've seen on the internet long before the Lion King remake ever showed up. Also I've seen the YMS video about the whole Kimba vs Simba thing to know that the comparison is hot garbage. Though I wouldn't be surprised if the white lion thing in this new movie was a real direct reference to it. Really only Moana and Zootopia are worthy of sequels at this point, but hope they don't put up bad writers for them. Incredibles 3, not sure since I will admit that I liked 2 and it delt with story elements that were not resolved in the first one. So it comes down to where can I3 go from there? Honestly would feel that the idea of anything relating to the Incredibles after 2 would work better as a TV show than another movie.
The only announcement there that actually had my interest was Tron Ares since I am a Tron fan and think it’s an underrated franchise but even that one I’m still skeptical towards especially with Jared Leto as the lead (sigh)
I hope Zootopia 2 will include anthro non-mammal animals. Like where are the lizards and birds? The latter being present on every continent. And birds are pretty smart, so I've never understood why they weren't in the first movie.
One other thing I'd like to add is that they also mentioned several changes to the Disney parks, and alot of them make no sense. I might be missing some details, so take these with a grain of salt. - Animal Kingdom is getting Indiana Jones and Encanto lands. Two things that have no connections to the animal theming. Plus they're replacing arguably the best attraction at the park Dinosaur, so yeah that's a thing. - There's gonna be a Cars land in Magic Kingdom. I don't know if it's gonna be an expansion of if it's replacing Frontierland (pls god no), but either way: Why? - Hollywood Studios is getting a Monsters Inc land. And much like Toy Story land, this has no connection to the theming of filmmaking. - The only one that's remotely interesting is the villains themed land in Magic Kingdom. Which is the only one of these announcements that actually makes sense.

Honestly, I can only take it as a fanfic AU, where somehow suddenly the two of them were never related and Mufasa had to come from scraps
I agree I'm just going to say in my mind that this is some type of weird fanfiction that I will be ignoring 😂😂@@axelwust9376

10? Try 15-20, a lot of the stuff the mid 20's crowd grew up with were garbage, poor quality but too expensive.
So... basically The Brave Little Toaster, but in the 21st century
I can’t wait for Tim Allen to say “skibidi toilet” in theaters.

I agree, but IPs always make the most money. It's hard to convince people to see something original.
@@animezilla4486I mean, can you blame them? They make way more money off of sequels and remakes than they do off of original movies, because audiences have a hard time giving something new a chance. They should give their creators the time and creative liberty to create their stories and art rather than trying to make an infinite money glitch.

EXCELLENT WORK. MJTANNER DISNEY'S OVERDOING
Who told you Mufasa named his brother “trash”? The name “Taka” is Swahili for “want” or “desire”, not trash.
Grimhilde's name was never mentioned in the entire movie. I saw it in 1993, when I was 11. I didn't find out the Wicked Queen (you call her what you want, I'll call her what I want) even HAD a name until I was in my 30's.
I don't plan on seeing any of these, but I gotta give the CGI animators props for making the lions more expressive this time.
Same!
I feel sooo bad for them....probably overworked and STILL underpaid! 😔
They are most certainly not more expressive this time.
I've shared this opinion once and I'll keep sharing it because it's left me immensely puzzled:
Why is Snow What having the Dwarves clean?
I have the same opinion
It's so weird how they're overthinking something that was already well-written.
Can’t have a women clean and cook in 2024 that’s sexist!😂
Because the remake still made over a billion dollars. That’s all Disney cares about.
They clearly don’t try as hard on the new original franchises though and it shows. They always favor and prioritize their well-known franchises.
That sounds like better idea, risky but better
It feels like Disney completely dropped the ball on Zootopia. That was one of their biggest, original hits in recent memory, and it took them like nine years to get a sequel out?
I know that it takes long time and lots of work to make a movie. But if you think back to 90s, Disney was capitalizing on their hit movies relatively quickly. Aladdin, Hercules and Little Mermaid all got TV series pretty fast after the movies came out. I have no idea why they didn't do something similar with Zootopia.
Really, almost 9 years? Had no idea it came out that long ago...

So the reason they might not have a clean home, is because they don't have the time in the day to do it."
With that she might have them cook for her, and it can't be empowering if she let's the dwarves fight the queen. Or have the prince save her at the end. In which I'm betting he might be the twist villain at the end.

Toy Story should've just been a trilogy. Toy Story 3 was the perfect ending.
It still is. Toy Story 4 (and 5 as well) are just filler
It’s so pathetic that Disney thinks that people want this!

They walk to work everyday might work 9-5 and they head back to their house. They were the heroes in the film, because as soon as the found out the Evil queen killed snow white.

Snow White is one of the kindest Disney Princesses of course she would clean and cook without asking.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarves is my maternal grandmother's favorite animated Disney movie. When it came to theaters in 1993, the whole family went to see it, and I liked it a lot. I'm not looking forward to the live action remake. I seriously don't like how everything made in the 1930's through the 1950's has to be "fixed." Disney as a whole is more focused on live action adaptations and/or sequels and less on new ideas.
1939 Disney disproves haters and makes a cartoon as a legit movie
Yeeeeeeaaars later his legacy is spit on by thinking a cartoon NEEDS a live action remake 😔
Disney lost its creativity & magic. They only release remakes after remakes & sequels of remakes.
Let's get seven wizards!"
Although to be fair that's not Dinklage's fault, doesn't look like he has any say in that, just Disney being stupid.
@@drawingdragon I don't seem to remember the normal heighted prince defeating the Evil Queen.
This is true and it makes me wonder why did he accept his role in Game of Thrones in the first place if he felt that way.
I think the fish not being citizens makes sense. The predators need to eat somehow.
At this point Im gonna boycott modern Disney and stick with the golden era and Kingdom Hearts for my fix
what's gonna happen when they run out of movies to remake? there's only so many. you can't exactly remake a movie you remade like 5 years ago, and people are going to stop watching sequels after a point, nobody is going to show up to theaters to watch toy story 7
I missed the OG Disney sequels
They were bad
At least they were trying to tell a different story, instead of just remaking it.
That Mufasa movie should have been 2d
Looks okay? Live action Stitch looks like he'd be more at home chasing people through an abandoned animatronic warehouse before murdering them
Disney deserves another 70s-80s-like downturn. As long as they keep making money, they can't course correct.
Not even going to bother with those sequels and remakes, not even Toy Story
If there’s one thing I can say about D23…
Is that it makes TH-cam Rewind 2018 look good.
😂
No matter what’s done with the Snow White remake, it’s not getting a dollar or cent out of me.
Are we goin to talk about the fact that Disney is perfectly aware about the fact that they're making way too many sequels, to the point where they put that joke in their products, but despite they don't do anything about it?
Holy crap, they made the Taka thing canon!?
Where's the Twisted Wonderland anime adaptation we were promised?
It is still in production! The anime however might not be released until the completion of book 7 in the game or the completion of the manga considering the release trend in Japan rn DON’T GIVE UP HOPE!
Mufasa being adopted obliterates the story
but the point of Snow White is that she's a genuinely good person because power corrupts but she hasn't gotten that power yet!
and the whole Kimba Lion King thing is so funny to me! Kimba came first, then The Lion King released and then Kimba made a film that basically ripped off Lion King causing people to think that was the original
Well… I guess the only good thing about the Disney remakes is that people are starting to appreciate the Disney classics more and more
Honestly..walt disney would be disappointed…
Indeed. He hated the idea of sequels and remakes. He saw each of his movies as an experiment. And if the experiment is a success, then why do it again?
Live action stitch is legit nightmare fuel. He looks like a possessed stuffed toy.
Is that really a big surprise it was a let down? Disney ain’t getting better and once the company goes under it will end on a sad and sour note overall
So... wait... they are changing Scar, so that he literally changed his name to Scar after he got a scar? *FACEPALM*
Actually, this was established in a Disney Adventures comic from the 90s.
This has been canon for decades
What do you mean facepalm? Dude this was a theory since the 90s! He was named scar because of his scar so it makes sense that he got an different name back then and then got his scar and then he names himself Scar. This is the most popular theory about the lion king!
Toy Story 5 was a disaster to begin with
Ikr - not only that Toy Story 4 was bad, yet, the fact that Woody is back with the toy gang despite having left them for Bo Peep at the end of that film has created a massive plot hole between the films; which is...HOW????
Finally someone else who sees only sequels being made is a terrible thing
I'll be honest: Disney is desperate for money and making sequels to beloved movies are their only solution.
@@isaacmartinez6904 Mainly because people are too selfish and stupid to support original ideas
@@elusivenarwhal1996Not only in Disney. I don't know any original movie in this decade that was a huge success
@@Simbala-bq5vy Elemental?
@@elusivenarwhal1996 break even not a success.
You can see the structure of modern movies in 3 parts
Making EPIC trailers for cgi slop with godawful music mixing and reverb and that drum track
Trying to appeal to a diverse audience moreso than ever before including casting, and ignoring the actual story or script, or in the case of reboots: making it as cheap copy paste as possible
Blaming fans for hating anything
This is why I rarely go to theaters these days
Bring Pooh Bear back in 2D form? We need a new Pooh Bear film that is written, marketed, and released excellently.
Zootopia 2 is the only one I'm curious about, but not sure how the story will be...
I liked Toy Story 4 😅
@@pdaigle531 It's not simply about liking or disliking, it's about artistic value, integrity, merit. Toy Story 4 is creatively bankrupt and has very little to offer in terms of quality, especially when compared to a modern masterpiece like Klaus.
I'm excited for literally none of these. Before the live action remakes were just bad, but now they're actually stepping into being legitimate nightmare fuel. The CGI in that Mufasa trailer is just so disgusting to look at.
And let's not even talk about stitch💀
Wait, they made Scar the rightful heir, and Mufasa the usurper?!🤨
That ruins the original!
Wrong! It ruins the remake! It has nothing to do with the original movie!
ENOUGH!!! WITH THE FUCKING!!! REMAKES AND SEQUELS!!!
