Great easy mod. Love the micro with the exception of the tail switch. I couldn't fully depress it with my thumb. I had to use quite a bit of forch with my index finger. This mod made it perfect! Thanks for this mod!
We all just watched the very best kind of upgrade/repair, simple enough that anyone can accomplish it, inexpensive (maybe FREE from the scrap heap), and effective at solving a problem. Video rating = A+++.
Great tip. I applied it to my Microstream and now I can really use it "properly", I mean: use the thumb to fully actuate the switch, instead of the index finger. As you said, the tail switch could be a bit "over-sensitive" on the half-switch action, but nothing to worry about. If I don't plan to use it in a long time then I just have to partially unscrew the head to disable it. Best part, adjusting the number of discs anyone can tailor it to personal taste.
This actually did work pretty good, not perfect but much better than it was. I took an old plastic SD card case and cut it into a circle with a pair of scissors and kept trimming it till it fit...Thanks for the tip.
Sorry, I don't have that model, but I suppose you need to go through from the other direction, the spring, the switch before getting to the boot. Try at your own risk, though. Thanks for dropping by! 😊👍
@@outdoorDADventure I have found another way. You can just pull the rubber out. Its also easy to get get it back in. I did put a 2 mm thick piece of rubber under it and stuffed it back in. Its much better now.
Totally awesome! Thanks for sharing! I would have hesitated pulling out the boot. Getting the lip seated well, might be a tricky, to ensure that the whole light is still waterproof. Now we know it is doable. 😊👍
I would not do this hack if you plan to carry it in the pocket. I think Streamlight designed it the way they did it for that reason. You don't want it to accidentally turn on in the pocket. I've had a flashlight do this on me. It got burning hot.
Thanks for your comment! This mod is specific to the microstream. Accidental activation of the microstream has never happened to any of my microstreams. This mod only makes clicking smoother. In no way does it affect the spring tension of the switch. I do have accidental activation on other lights, particularly with those with side switches. A quarter twist or lockout solves that. 😊👍
Thanks for the comment, Jacob! 😊 👍 Those low and high modes are for the more recent Microstream USB. www.streamlight.com/products/detail/index/microstream-usb The one shown on the video is the older model. www.streamlight.com/products/detail/index/microstream
I used a bit of an old credit card and that worked flawlessly. Been using it for the past 2 years.
That's awesome! Thanks for the comment! Cheers! ☺️🤙

I really need this on my Polytac X but I see no way to get under the rubber of the tail switch. Any idea?

Wassup with the clip tho?
Hi! I just put some heat shrink to avoid snagging. I don’t use this on a hat anyway. Thanks for your comment! 😉🤙
It has modes the first mode is low at 50 lumens double press and that is high at 250 lumens
Thanks for the comment, Jacob! 😊 👍

Just get a Olight and you want have to do all of this.
Some people may actually do just that! 😅🤞Thanks for your comment!
I dont like the setting on the i3t. 5 lumen are to low and the 180 lumen are to much. Also the tint is terrible.
