God bless you brother! My 2 boys are bike nuts because of me a longtime bicycle collector and now my boys own most my bikes! It's definitely about the kids bro! 100% RIP Scott
We all thought we were bad at the dirt hills one day back in 1983, until a super confident, longer haired older dude rode up on a baby blue Quadangle with Redline cranks, cleared a massive triple and rode off like nothing. Never had seen an SE until that day. Still think that was the coolest dude on the planet.
I just got my son his first SE bike Never thought this was as big of a movement All the people with SE are totally rad people I'm looking to buy me a S E bike now
Really epic story... Love se bikes. ...had a white 1980 ripper white z rims , baby blue gt tires ..rest was chrome profile crank , gt bars ,dk , hutch fork..22.5lbs. Beast of a bike.. .
Damon, you are THE MAN! Much respect and I couldn't agree with you more. Kudos to you for promoting recreation. These kids are going to remember your efforts throughout their lives. Awesome!
This guy is so cool, he’s at the stage in life to where he can make a difference in the world and give something back to society while at the same time he’s also doing what he wants to do and what he love’s doing at the same time. That is the mark of a rich person, he’s rich in life. And bless his daughter for wanting to have a bit more of his attention, and being a bit up set. But now in life she see’s the positive effect he has on society and the value he has in being able to help others when they need it. And that’s made her be one of the happiest people in the world because she realised that her farther is able to help people in need, to have a better life. Hopefully I’ll soon be in a position to be doing what I love for a living and make people happy at the same time.
I'm 49 this year just like Damon and still doing wheelies and old school freestyle, it never ends, nice project helping children to get on the right path my friend, keep it up and good vibes for you all
Wow the internet is so funny. I’ve been looking for my old bmx bike and now this video pops up for me to watch. I love your story you are an awesome guy for what you are doing for the kids praise God for you and your movement. I to am 49 and use to race at my local boys and girls club here in Florida back in the day. I wish I still had my Hutch because they are crazy expensive so definitely hold on to those SE because they will be a collectors item🙏🏾 keep doing what you are doing
RIP Scott Breithaupt. The dude was an unsung legend in the history of BMX. It's a real shame that he let the L.A. lifestyle eat him up in the end. He was one of BMX's founding fathers . Damon is carrying on all the good things that Scott did for the kids back in the early days. I'm 49 and in the UK, always loved the SE Bikes vibe when i was younger, so that's cool to see. BMX seems to be dying off a bit here in the UK, most kids are too lazy minded and soft nowadays and you have to put the effort in and take the knocks to get good on a bike. Kids aren't up for that. They are too buried in their mobile phone lives to notice real life pass them by. Life passes by very quickly if you let it, so beware kids.
Bro this touched me on so many levels. Always was a bmx/freestyle head.. i fixed all the kids bikes growing up. I hung w the older crowd as a kid and always got to buy there bikes when they got there licenses. Later I got into motocross heavy, then mustangs and slab cars and then Harley’s ..the mechanical side of everything. On a side note somewhere in the middle I melted down due to an addiction to opioids. I wasted almost a decade living 50$ at a time getting high. Iv been clean for 11 years and change now and started off restoring my first old mongoose villain freestyle bike.. then I recently bought a Trek marlin mtb, restored a cpl GTs I had stashed and now I’m going to find a local bike shop that sells SE If not I’m ordering a 29. I’m 36 and feel like I’m 14 every-time I’m on the bikes. With that said thanks for the video an what you do, now I’m gona take a nice night ride an practice my wheelies lol. You should too!
I have my P.K. Rippers from when I was a kid 2 - 85's and a loop tail that I call Carl. I also have a 84 bronco stainless steel ans a 83 Quadangle freestyle. Love them.
Hell yea Ascot! I raced the BMX track there also. Went mostly for the Sprint cars though lol. I had a ELF cruiser and a Torker. Brother had a CW. Good times.
God Bless you and your family brother SE save my life I was going through a divorce I wanted to take everything out of my head I went I brought a big flyer that was in 2919 that was the best thing I ever did I still got that big brought 3 more after that it's like I'm addicted man I feel like I'm 20 again peace and love to all the riders .
I grew up in OC. 25 years later, I worked in LA for 10 years. Live off grid now in AZ. Visit occasionally and would like to participate in ride!!! When is the next one, thanks!! I have 2006 SE BM Big Momma 29r and 65 VW Bus and several other VW's. GOD, Family, VW's, RAIDERS, Bicycles, It's been a good life! Thank GOD!
Wow Man, that's so kool, thats friggin awesome bro,,, and here I am on Christmas Day at 58 years young and just getting going at the pedal bike thing with my """Giant""" bike collection... That is just soo kool... I'll definitely be following along and the day will come when We link up for a ride... Im 2000 miles North of you 👍. I said the same thing. A simple pedal bike is the best therapy too all of our lives,,, every ass deserves a seat... everyone's is welcome too join in and take it on... I'm game too take this on since there's no experience like a simple pedal bike experience riding in the wilds of the dark forests and the tops of mountains,,, and I do this crap on full ridge bikes these days. Boy,,, could we share some crazy stores Pal Don from Western Canada 🇨🇦. Peace out brother as we will cross paths in life I'm sure... Be kind too others and our serves
