The movement really shows how much I rely on that reflex or stretch at the bottom to carry me out of the bottom position in a regular squat. Thanks for this.

I love these guys. They actually go over shit instead of just showing 1 particular form or motion.

Good stuff here! The mind to muscle connection is likely more important than the execution of the exercise itself.
This is very similar to a exercise I teach senior citizens and knee patients to use when getting up from cushioned couches & chairs or in general.

Does this variation have specific benefits over doing a pause squat?

I've been theorizing if doing this would help with my leg drive lately and now I found this! Good shit.

Great Video Guys. Some advice, this is not a Pin Squat this is a Dead Squat which is much harder due to there being literally not elastic energy stored because theres no eccentric.

There is an eccentric, the order is just reversed

Thank you for sharing! I was surprised to see this is one of few youtube videos that comes up when I searched "how to strengthen the bottom position of the squat" Like you guys said in the video so many people struggle with this part of squatting. I'm going to try this out today and then have my client try it :]

Do you recommend doing these after your back squats or front squats in a workout?

Hey guys loving the vids, I've watched every one, and heard about 40 podcasts so far, and I've heard your anti-training-to-failure enough that when Terry Crews posted his own article saying the opposite artbuff.co/blogs/here-s-why-training-to-failure-could-be-better-for-strength-building? so I'm conflicted now cuz he's pretty ripped haha

Skott We're still comparing a short period of time and two body part split routines. Comparing those two body part split routines and having one group go to failure and the other not is pretty obvious to the outcome . The better test would compare those same people but manipulate frequency in the less intensive group that runs a full body higher frequency program . Failure and intensity has its place and should be incorporated intermittently for maximum results . Unfortunately many people get trapped here .

Skott Terry Crews is a genetic freak and on drugs. What works for him will not work for you or 99.999 percent of people.
