    Love the case and bracelet, but the dial is a bit boring, applied markers would have improved the design.

  • @shobadobs
    @shobadobs 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I handled the blue one in person yesterday. The dial was just the right color to match the titanium. It looked and felt pretty much perfect. The bracelet seemed very high quality, and the whole thing was well balanced. The design is modern without being obnoxious, and very much non-blingy (brushed finish, generally). I didn't consider the convenience of a 10 year service interval, but that addresses one annoyance I had with other luxury mechanical watches. One thing of note, the movement number inside was 400-2, iirc. So I think it's a revision the 400 movement.

    WILD design. Makes me think Don Johnson white suit on Miami Vice. Definitely more in the pinkish range of Salmon color like a Florida flamingo.
    Futuristic looking clasp reminds me of a vintage car's seat belt. Really like black-edged hands fillied with lume.

  • @allanreardon
    @allanreardon 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Tried one on today. Didn't think I'd love it, but I do. The grey dial was the pick for me. I'd love a black dial one to be honest for an everyday watch.

    I was watching on my tablet and thought how awful the dial colour is. Just to check, I looked on my colour-calibrated monitor and found it looks even worse! The blue-green one doesn't look bad. Apart from the dial design and lack of bracelet adjustability, it looks pretty good.

    • @porschephile2k3

      With all the innovations that Oris has been onto lately you'd think they'd engineer a quick adjustment clasp, but no. It's just an odd choice these days given micros like Zelos, Halios and even Nodus already have theirs.

    $4300 with a printed dial? All that effort and they cheap out on lume and hour markers. Pffft, a bit extra gets a 3 hand Aquaterra with a wave ceramic dial and proper applied hour indices. So close, Oris but no cigar.

    Kinda upset at myself right now. I bought a Big Crown Pointer Date about six weeks ago and just before that thought if I should wait to see this year's new releases before pulling the trigger. If I had, this watch would've jumped the line on the BCPD.
    Going to have to wait awhile before making another big purchase but the upside on that will be seeing Oris expand on this new lineup in the future.

      Not controversial at all. It looks like it was inspired by the globe master. This watch has great specs and some innovation but it doesn't have enough visual appeal. The pink orange color is just terrible. Good movement and like the titanium construction but needs a bit more visual impact.

    I checked several YT videos and watch review websites, but I still couldn’t find which grade of titanium Oris uses on this model.
    It does matter a lot because if it is the ordinary and cheaper grade 2 titanium, this watch will get scratches so easily. I have had experience with titanium solar power watch from Seiko 2 years ago. I’m quite careful when wearing a watch, but it did get many scratches on office use only.

    • @richardipyanasiegrist9910
      @richardipyanasiegrist9910 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I loved this watch and I am in the market for a new watch but unfortunately this watch does not have micro adjust so it’s a no go for me. I have my name down for the new red dialled Omega Aqua Terra and I am looking forward to trying that one on so I am hoping that that one has micro adjust. If I doesn’t I will probably consider an after market strap.

    Love the channel but can't help feeling some reviewers are compromised by their relationship with Oris. I only collect Oris but this printed dial looks so cheap, and the lume is awful. The RRP is ridiculous. The new Tudor Black Bay Pro costs less and the quality is so much higher. Oris seems to have lost its way a bit.

    • @DrNitin14
      @DrNitin14 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly I think reviewers liking this are liking it because it's something different.
      Can I also ask everyone to also stop comparing all watches to the Blackbay. Blackbays are so ubiquitous and common they have turned boring.
      They aren't super flawlessly designed. They are thick, they are slab like they have questionable hands. The movements are good but not any better than the ORIS.
      I own a pelagos LHD it is a beautiful watch in its own way. The black bay is also a lovely watch in its own way just entirely different to this and the value proposition is in now way better, except it may depreciate less.
