    Are POWERSLIDES considered a trick?!

    • @JustWhateverSk8
      @JustWhateverSk8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Reverts I’d say are more tricks. Do you find it challenging on those ojs tho? To me spots are way better for it.

      Depends on the obstacle imo. On flat, not really but they do add style. Doing them half cab or 360 or out of a grind/slide back into a bank or transition is definitely a trick though.

      @@JustWhateverSk8 I found the slide on these OJs is really controlled after a couple days.

    a big tip is making sure you shift almost 90% of your weight to your front foot while your sliding. Also, counter rotating your shoulders will help you bring it back in straight. stay sideways

    I just like doing PS on flat. It feels good to slide for a while. Definitely need to learn how to apply them to transition

    The frontside slash revert is such a cool trick. Never fails to impress a group in a session.
    Also a very side note. The pendulum trick at the end is a Kiwi Slide. In case someone's trying to look it up to learn it. Cess is more of a 360 powerslide. Both are awesome old school tricks well worth learning.

    I feel you know that some one is an experienced skater if you see them power slide to regulate their speed. Fundamental aspect of style, T Funk as an example. Thanks for the videos.

    Power slides are also great for speed checking anytime but especially when bombing hills... essential for a slashing skate style.

    I must say the tutorials are good, but the surf guitar music you choose is bloody fantastic and the volume is not bad also. The volume on most videos is where they get it very wrong.

    Used to make wax pads on flats and do FS and BS slides when me and my friends got bored. I dont think they should really be a trick or somethin that "has" to be learned. Skating is all about expressin yourself and style, and if thats not something ppl wanna do, its cool. I dont really use it in any of my skatin since i do mostly vert and parks now. But newer people do the quick slides to look edgy when they skate. Kinda cringe when they do it too much. Just flow.

      @@ZackDowdy thats what i thought. Your board is nice too. See life's in indy. The deck reminds me of an old jim thiebaud model (among others). Which model was it if you dont mind me asking. Wheels look like lug nuts. I was thinking of a longer board 40" with hard wheels for sess sliding hills but now i feel a normal length will do

    What wheel hardness would you recommend? Can you go too soft? I'm having a hard time with PS but I don't know how much of it is my lack of skill and how much of it is my 96a wheels.

    • @komoonkh

      99A currently, the OJ Elites. They have more grip than Spitfire's but I can control the slide a little more with that.
