"A Bad Goodbye" was written by American country music artist Clint Black. The song was recorded after Clint and Wynonna toured together during their "Black and Wy" tour in 1993. It was released in May 1993 as the first single from Black's album No Time to Kill. It peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks behind "Chattahoochee" by Alan Jackson. In addition, it was Black's first appearance on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 43 there. (Wikipedia)
An extremely gifted songwriter, guitarist, harmonicist and singer who stayed true to his music and became a Country Music Legend in the 1990s. My favorite songs by Clint Black (from oldest to newest) are A Better Man; Put Yourself in My Shoes; Where Are You Now; Loving Blind; No Time to Kill; A Good Run of Bad Luck; State of Mind; A Bad Goodbye (duet with Wynonna Judd); Half the Man; Happiness Alone; One Emotion; Summer's Comin'; Desperado (cover of a classic by The Eagles); The Shoes You're Wearing; Nothin' But the Taillights; That Something in My Life; Loosen Up My Strings; Still Holding On (duet with Martina McBride); Something That We Do; You Don't Need Me Now; You Know It All; Love She Can't Live Without; and When I Said I Do (duet with his wife, Lisa Hartman Black). BTW, he wrote or co-wrote every one of these songs except for Desperado.
Oh my goodness you guys, you just sparked the most amazing memory for me with this one! I’m not necessarily a country fan although I do appreciate the good things about it, but my mom is a huge huge country fan, and I took her to see Wynonna Judd and Clint back 1 billion years ago when they toured together, I had forgotten all about seeing these two in concert. I can’t say that I remember much about the music or anything but what I do remember is loving Wynonna Judd‘s voice, I mean what’s not to love right, and back then Clint Black was a major sex symbol and he really did his thing that night and all the ladies there just lost their damn minds lol thanks for the trip down memory lane have a great rest of your day 💚✌🌻
I'm not a real fan of country music, but when Clint came out with a song about his wife and there love, I went out and purchased 5 Cd's, of Nothin but the Taillights. Ahh the memories, lol.
Just read this morning. Wy is struggling on The Judd’s tour. I love her so! I went to high school with Clint. He was so shy and a geek. Overnight, turned into a downright Hottie!
This was tough listening too tonight just lost my boss and his wife in a small plane crash leaving 4 kids behind two that hasn’t graduated yet. I’ve known him and his wife for 15 years both very good people. Type of people that would hire a complete stranger without judging who they was or what they looked like
If you want to hear another beautiful song by Clint that is the antithesis of this song check out "When I Said I do". He does that song with his wife. It's as beautiful a song as you will ever hear.
Clint Black put out many great songs. Sorry you all weren't around during Clint's prime, this song also was nominated for so many awards and won many awards
Clint and Wynona are amazing artists with so much great music to dive into! One of my favorite love songs by Clint is “When I Said I Do”. His wife sings back up vocals on it and it’s a beautiful song.
clint black has quite a few good ones, a few of my favorites are killin time, a better man, when i said i do, and nothing but the tail lights. wynonna on the other hand i couldnt list all of my favorites by her. between her singing with her mom as the judds or her solo career as wynonna she is just an amazing singer. i guess if i had to pick one by her as a solo artist it would be is it over yet and one with her mom it would be mama he's crazy or grandpa.
You guys should do reaction videos of some of Wynonna’s late 90s songs. Her OTHER SIDE album: Always Will, Why Now, The Wyld Unknown. Her REVELATIONS album: Dance and Shout, the original recording of Change the World (which was re-recorded by Eric Clapton), Old Enough to Know Better Her NEW DAY DAWNING album: Going Nowhere,New Day Dawning, Help Me (Joni Mitchell cover), I Can’t Wait to Meet You. Those three albums were amazing some of her best work, and really shows how versatile of a singer she is. I’m not joking when I say she can sing ANYTHING. It’s a shame her record company didn’t do everything they could to show her depth to the world.
I have always liked this song. Here are some other largely forgotten and underrated duets for you to check out. Micheal Martin Murphy and Holly Dunn "A Face In The Crowd " from 1987. Nominated for a Grammy as Duet of the year. It was a consensus Top 5 hit. I'm disappointed that no one has reacted to this yet as far as I can tell. Seems like someone should have by now. Holly's songs in general need more reactions. She did allot more than just "Daddy's Hands". Lari White and Toby Keith "Only God Could Stop Me Loving You" from 1998 is just incredible. Kelly Willis and Kevin Welch "That'll Be Me" a song they wrote together from Kelly's 3rd album in 1993 is so hauntingly beautiful. Marty Brown and Joy Lynn White "I Love Only You" a very pretty song from Marty's 3rd album back in 1994. All of these songs deserve to be heard and reacted too. I think you already reacted to Lari White and Travis Tritt "Helping Me Get Over You" from 1997 which they wrote together. But maybe not? The video has over 11 million views on TH-cam. Lari's songs also need and deserve allot more reactions.
Great Song. Clint Black has many good songs on his own. Clint Black and Lisa Hartman Black did " When I said I do" you should check out. Much love to you guys and all the Fam. ❤
Always relate this to a marriage breaking up. One person wants out but the other has done nothing wrong to cause it. Its just not what you want after all and you know you're gonna break them when you tell them goodbye 😢
Hey guys I hate to break in on this review but I saw your review on Ted Nugent stranglehold check out his live video 8 2 22 in Huntsville Alabama I think you'll be surprised how he does the special effects on his guitar you guys keep on reviewing I'll keep watching Big love always 💕💕💕
This is kind of a pleasant misleading title. You read bad goodbye and automatically assume this is gonna be a horrible break up song. But it's actually kind of sweet and he's talking about Knowing that he needs to go but there's no way he can do it if it's going to hurt her.
Clint Black ~ "LIKE THE RAIN" .....is AMAZING....!

The Judds ~ "Young Love" and "Love Can Build A Bridge"....!
Such a beautifully sad song. Clint Black and his wife Lisa Hartman sing a beautiful song called When I Said I Do. Epic wedding song.
I have chills. This was beautiful. I love them both separately. Never heard them together. This was so gorgeous. What a perfect blend.
Haven't heard this song since March 1994 , when he was sent to Japan in the Air Force . I still think about him
One of my favorites!!
