  • Hi Guys!
I got this clock from a customer who was going to through it out... I decided to take a chance, and do a quick service to it and see if we could get it running again! If you want to see a more detailed, instructional video on one of these, let me know... I have a few left!

Really enjoyed the video. I for one would really appreciate an instructional video. I have my mother's last one of these - she went through 2 or three during my childhood and youth. Bought me one when I started full time work. It would be great to get hers working again.

Nice clean and repair. You have given me hope to get my baby ben, 4 of them, working. They have been sitting in a box for a few years now.

Wow, does that ever bring back memories. I played with one of these as a child. Very cool. Thank you for sharing!!

I remember my grandfather buying one of these for me as a child. Yes. You are right. A lot of great memories!

Nice video - at one time I had a large collection of travel clocks. Easy to clean and oil - simple enough that I couldn't mess them up (for the most part!!). Keep the videos coming Peter.

I used to have one of the first models of these, they are cool clocks. The early ones are worth a good amount of money too if in decent shape. Great video as usual!

I have one of these, we clean plexiglass head lights with Meguiar's PlastX, it gets all the scratches out of the plastic itself. Nice video love the IPA bits as well, thanks.

I have a small travel Big Ben clock and don’t know what anything means on the opened back. Anything you could tell me would help. Thank you.

I enjoyed your video, very informative. I own a similar model, and the front part of the case is secured by 3 screws. Two of them are missing and I would like to replace them. Would you by chance know what size these screws are?

I have a Big Ben Westclox pedestal clock. I took it apart and I am now putting it back together, but the second hand is loose and I cannot figure out how to get it to work right. Please help.

When encountering these Baby Bens or other older mechanical alarm clocks it’s very important to take safety protocols in case they are painted with Radioactive Radium paint.
These Big Ben and Baby Ben Alarm clocks are famous for being luminous and I’m afraid to say that you’ve put you hand all over that radium dial. Please be more careful next time. You make fantastic videos but Radium-226 is nothing to muck around with. It will Remain Radioactive with a half life of 1,600 years.
Your health matters more than seeing these beautiful clock getting restored.

Watch rinse. Water would leave residue on the movements
You can also use clock rinse solution or for these inexpensive clocks 99% ipa.

I was watching to find out how to speed up my Baby Ben windup clock. It runs slow. This taught me nothing. 😢

There should be a little screw on the back of your clock to adjust faster or slower. Mine has stopped working. I hope taking it apart and cleaning will take care of it. Good luck!
