  • In this video we are using my Land Rover Defender 110 Td5 to tow my sister´s Skoda Fabia to a garage.
    There's a lot going wrong but the Defender made it happen!
    Dutch subtitles so my grandfather can watch this video too :)

    We Took our discovery TD5 and our x army Sankey trailer all over Scandinavia in 2018 with my young family, we wild camped for most of the time and managed to get up inside the artic circle!
    We had our alternator pack up near Gavle, North of Stockholm and had a nightmare trying to get the part, in the end we found a guy called Henry from Landyman in Stockholm , he’s an X Brit and he saved our bacon by finding a secondhand part, I managed to fit it in the services and made it home...I was surprised by the lack of Land Rovers in Sweden, I thought e might have seen a few more than we did!

      That sounds like an awesome trip!
      Yeah Landyman is one of only two independent suppliers here in Sweden, just ordered some parts from him today😉 oh and yesterday too!
      Yup, Land Rovers are very rare over here! Swedes are very practically minded and I guess there's always many other cars with a much better value for the money than Land Rovers 😅

    When I need to get my Defender into my garage I just fit a set of wheels without tyres. They were the cheapest wheels I could find and I keep them specially for this purpose.
    Regarding the Skoda, would it not have been easier just to travel to your sister's house and change the spring there yourself?

    Can't imagine having a defender with those temperatures. I live in Belgium and that's already a nightmare for those few weeks of winter :D. Still love the video's tho.

      Yeah it sucks, and this was only -4! And i had to scrape both the inside and outside of all the windows before driving...🤪

      Eberspächer between the front seats, heated seats and windscreen. Block heater for the engine... But that doesn't matter much because I use my bicycle for the most part.

    Cant be locked but its Sweden. Soooooooo jealous,over here in the UK I wouldn't dream of leaving a defender unlocked for even a minute.

    • @Td5Adventures
      @Td5Adventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately it is like that in the UK... Glad to not live like that, wouldn't be worth having a Defender then..

    Hope you do not get cracks in engine head. I've got disco2 with td5. And i've got engine coolant problems. It boils permanently ( Hoping it's just head gasket, not cracks. Heads so expensive! Cheers, friend!

    • @Td5Adventures
      @Td5Adventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh no! Hope you get away with changing the head gasket too 🤞🏻😊

    • @PillSharks
      @PillSharks 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If it’s a early TD5 then it could possibly still have the plastic locating dowels in the head, these crack and let the head move!
      You can upgrade them to metal ones...why Land Rover used plastic is beyond me, just another case of nearly getting something right and scrimping at the end!

      @MrMaxEf 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PillSharks It's 2004 year of production. In my humble opinion, LR had done some weakness in engine to sell spare parts) and to keep dealers busy...
      Anyway i'll find out what type of dowel installed just when open up my engine.

      @@MrMaxEf 2004 disco should be the metal dowels I would think, maybe it’s just time to replace the head gasket!
