Thank you for the video. I love this series of carpentry shops. I think I will need to create a little pilgrimage to the various shops you showcased when Japan opens up to tourists.
Thank you so much for sharing this video! I was able to pop into Joyful Honda Pro during our last day in Japan (yesterday) and bought a handful of Nipponsei tools. Incredible selection of tools with extreme attention to organization and presentation. I only had an hour in store to shop, but easily could have spent 2-3 hrs browsing each row.
Got back from Japan recently and visited this exact store. Thanks for the video. Had a great time, and spent too much money on a wide range of stuff. Unfortunately a typhoon came through in the late afternoon so I got soaked on the way back to my in-law's house. Dont worry, the tools stayed dry. Cant wait to get back!
What a sweet sweet shop. I'm so jealous. I thought Ryobi was a Japanese brand but in fact it's owned by Techtronic Industries, a Hong Kong based company who also owns Milwaukee.
+ Somewhat hard finding quality tools Shopping around like you do is necessary at times If you haven’t already, doing a video on flea markets/garage sales for old quality tools would be interesting
I have the same zetsaw in South Africa the issue I have is I bought a fine blade but don't want to constantly change blades but they don't sell just the handle in SA, love the saw though
Great channel . From Liverpool England UK. So important to learn from others . What a great tool store . What are those hex head bit holders called .? Stay safe 👍
Thank you for watching. Those hex head bit holders are by TOP. There are several companies that sell them. Some have different directions to release the bit. Check out this link www.amazon.co.jp/ESH-BRBKN/dp/B009325AQ0?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1 Also, check out other companies like Vessel, SKII, and Anex. These companies all make similar bit holders. I like the TOP ones best.
Hey I live in Tokyo and have always wanted to take a carpentry class. Do you know if there are any gaijin friendly-sh workshops in the region, something like a weekend long workshop or something like that? My Japanese is not great.
It's funny,In the USA ryobi is thought of as a lesser/ store to consumer brand... I used it professionally when I was in residential construction... It's considered a professional tool in Japan... I wonder if it's more expensive in Japan than the u.s. being professional grade?
I remember here in Australia we had 2 levels. The old are professional grade, the newer aren't. They had a period between the switchover where they became junky for a while. That period was around the early 2000s.
god,.... heaven.... seems those nice Makita soft impact machines arent available in the European market... cant find that TS141DRGX here in the Netherlands 😅
@@thecarpentrylife Thanks for your videos. Bit of a leftfield question, but do you know of a pro decorators merchants in Tokyo? My daughter is there at the moment and I've asked her to pick me up a good quality Japanese paint brush. I've been looking online but can't find a pro quality outlet.
Great video... if you made this video 2 hours long and featured hundreds of tools I would watch every minute of it.
Im a carpenter in Utah, USA
This looks like heaven
Yeah, it is one of my favorite stops if I am in the area. I often go in there just to look and dream.
Looks like heaven, i want to go there

A little slice of heaven.
That bit quick-release keychain is very cool, and have never seen it before.

1:40 glad to see they're playing Ado san's music in the store
Thank you for showing us that folding saw! I definitely want this.
Any time!
They are quite common in Japan so you shouldn’t have much difficulty finding one online or in better woodworking supply stores.
@@trappenweisseguy27 Garrett Wade has the 265mm version!
4:40 - THAT is an excellent bit of kit...why is it that I've never seen this on anyone's rig over here?
I would spend a full day in there OMG. I am super envious of your experience there
Thank you for sharing - enjoyed the walkthrough

Tools here tend to be higher priced. But you will find a lot of tools made in Japan to some extent. For example, impact guns are made mostly in Japan.
I remember here in Australia we had 2 levels. The old are professional grade, the newer aren't. They had a period between the switchover where they became junky for a while. That period was around the early 2000s.
Where is it? Thank you!
Love your channel! What is the quick release drill bit holder on the carabiner called? I’d love to see if I can get one out here in the USA.

Merry tools
Actually Japan use sliding doors, so they don't have older system article used for home, like bracket or coupling . Jay bharat.
what is their most sold items
Good question. I would like to know too.
Do they ship to US?
Unfortunately, they do not ship to US.
Looks like a Walgreens pharmacy in the US.
One thing I'll say is those power tools are 3X more expensive than in Canada.
And far higher quality. The same brand made in Japan is better than the chinese or Mexican made versions
👍
Great video….I bet you left Japan with a load of tools….hope customs never took you one side.
アメリカ人がハイコーキをヒコーキと読む不思議。
you only show about 1% of the store; how about a real tour of the whole place ?
Shut up and take my money!!
It's how I feel also.
У меня аж " глаза разбежались " - лепота !
