Nice job Frank. Bet that intake gasket is on correct.
Frank you are the man, good job on the rebuild, not many people will even do little things but you did whole rebuild, wow
Thanks for sharing I seen a post on Jeff’s Facebook page about this and had to come check it out
Sure am glad you mentioned those only having three cam bearings! I was looking at the block thinking 'Man - are those two cam bearings oxide treated?'
While I hope I never have to do this on my 125c's engine it's sure nice to see it done & how simple the engine is internally.
Nice job, sounds like it is running good. Well done.
Lookin good Frank, Lance at Bundy Bears Shed has had to modify new aftermarket parts as well. He's good at finding issues like you had with the balancer but he's also selling the parts. He's always restoring a tractor, mostly Fergusons. Jeff sure had a flashy tie, lol. Keep smilin
She’s alive! That’s awesome man. 👍🏻
Tell Jeff, "Nice Tie"... Sounded good Frank...
the reason those tining gears dont line up is to distribute wear equally om all gears the first diesels had wear problems on just the teeth where injector pump fired good job
sweet sound of success
Warren over at western truck and tractor said he buys reliance engine rebuild kits all the time and he said they are just as good as Oem and there much cheaper...
Nice work! You the man. When I deliver mine for rebuild do you want engine only or whole dozer delivered? Time to get that blade shining.
Jeff said if I got bored of pushing snow to stop by and see what you were up to..... Nice job...
Lost footage, LOL yup, that and talking to a camera for thirty minutes and then find it is not on ....
Nice Frank 👍👍
Wandering... the top of the balancer say D239, yours is a DT239, I'm wondering if the gave you a non turbo balancer? I don't know if they're different or not, just spitballing. Great video series Frank, Thanks! It will sure come in handy when I go to rebuild my TD-8E!
Good day from Ontario I have aIH 574 with 239 in. Is my tractor motor the same as this. It looks like a fairly
heavy motor. Yrs ago we had David brown & crankshaft broke.
Only 3 main bearings on 4 cyl. I now thought heavy crank is better
Thanks for showing
It’s a very close version of yours, not sure all the differences, but this one is turbo charged. It’s a good engine for sure. Comparable to a Cummins 4bt but with replaceable cylinder liners.
Do crush washers/gaskets go between the balancer and the block? The book isn't clear and it looks like there were some metal crush washers there before. DIdn't take note when I was disassembling it.
There are wedge shaped washers or collars that when you tighten the end cap the washers expand. They are tapered on the inside. One fits inside another, if I remember right there are 2 sets of them.
Thanks Jeff!😂😂🤭🤣
Hy. What different d239 vs dt239 engine ? Possible to upgrade d239 to turbo ?(for a little horsepower)
I’m not sure, but I do know that most turbo diesels run a lower compression ratio. Fuel rate would need to be changed as well as timing possibly. I’m sure it could be done, not sure it would live long if the compression is too high though.
most aftermarket parts are horrible anymore. even the factory stuff is junk sometimes.
First 😂
Wouldn’t expect less! If ya ain’t first your last right? Thanks for watching
Frank…. She go vroom - vroom!
Let me say it before the experts get here… Frank, this is TH-cam. It don’t matter how much work you put into it, how well it runs. How much it cost…. If you don’t paint it up all purdy it don’t count!
As to my opinion… once again you’ve thoroughly impressed me!
