Tbh I love wireless gear, but in general I don't mind it being wired either. It's just that I'm kinda messy, so with all my wired stuff my desk can get cluttered a bit. But... that's something I need to work on lol.

I have this controller. Good pad. Shame no one mentions the nuances of this controller. Some things you may be interested in.
-firmware update required out of the box (via pc/Windows)
    - is larger than the xbox controller.
    - the sticks are slightly taller then xbox controller.
    - the head of the stick is slightly larger in diameter (KontrolFreek difficult to get on straight, my rigtt stick freek are in the dome topper because it fits easier)
    - the lower rear buttons are in a nice position fit middle finger.
    - the upper rear buttons not as natural to press (I only use two of the four so doesn't bother me)
    - the dpad is slightly larger than xbox controller
    - the long stroke of the triggers is shorter that the xbox elite 2.
    - the triggers have a very hard bump stop, even without hair trigger on
    - app can remap, adjust rumble, stick sensitivity curve and inner/outer deadzone.
    Pro: good for larger hands
Con: not as good for small hands
Pro: the headphone volume output goes crazy loud compared to xbox controller.
Con: no chat/game mix button on controller so this audio setting must be done in xbox guide menu.
**CON: the mic signal is running just as hot, it's got a crazy amount of gain on it. So your mic will be twice a sensitive than with regular controller. It will pick up everything in your room and the party chat channel almost constantly be broadcasting. Even when your silent. * this led me to buy a wirless headset (I know but this pad is wired right? Well I don't mind because I sit close and wirless head set has multiple uses) but seriously the controller audio has too much gain..... Maybe firmware future fix?
Pro: you can custom stick input sensitivity. Via the app each stick has 3 levels you can change my percentage. Small movements (inner zone) medium movements (middle zone) large movements (outer zone)
By default they are splat 33%/34%/33%
-if you want it less twitchy when trying to do subtle movements - then eg. Set Small 50% Med 25% Large%25.
Now 50% of the sticks motion in one direction will be considered 'small movement input' giving you more play/input for small movements.
    *I use 50/25/25
    Pro: input response is awesome
    Pro: buttons are very tactile/clicky
    Pro: bumpers are aeesome
    Con: bumpers are loud *click
Con: the share and guide buttons are opposite locations compared to xbox controller = lots of accidental share presses.
Con: start/menu buttons are up really high in face of controller.
Con: 2 custom button map presets compared to 3 on Elite2
    *app can save multiple.
OVERALL I really like this controller. I love the buttons, the bumpers feel and sound like they'd last a lifetime. Custom stick sensitivity is sweet. I like the rear button placement as I only use two of them. If you want your headphones to go louder, jesus this pad will do it.. But the crazy mic send means you'll be that annoying person with loud noisy mic everyone mutes. (don't be that person)
Theres some more info than just what's in the box. Hope this helps you with this expensive decision. I love mine now I'm used to it. Audio/mic was the most disappointing thing. Led me to another purchase (wireless headset)

As it turns out: the only testing I've seen of the *analog sticks themselves* show that this controller (or the Playstation version if you upgrade the sticks to the NXG versions) have the most accurate, most reliable sticks out of all controllers available. They're actually different. And yes, the Xbox Elite simply uses standard analog stick modules with better thumbsticks - but these are actually better.

And on top of that they have a lot of analog stick tension so its harder to over aim, it really doesn't get any better then that.

I love playing Layers of Fear and his game pad made playing that game so much more real. Layers of Fear is not a shoot'em up game but a game where you need to go slow sometimes, to look behind doors and open desk drawers. After making some adjustments to the mini stick via the Thrustmaster software. I was able to adjust them to go slow for looking around and then fast to get out of trouble. Some might say, the controller is not wireless, so it is not worth it. But I like using wired trackballs and controllers because they have instant reaction time, and you don't have to worry about not playing, because of no batteries or your controller lost it's charge.
Oh, and the customization of this controller is awesome. So many options with the swappable mini sticks & D pad. You can also get different color packages for this Game pad so when your friend gets one you will know which one is yours.
I am using it in the typical Xbox configuration on a PC with Steam and the controller was easily recognized.

Nice review. I can't be the only one that prefers wired controllers. I prefer wired vs wireless for the simple fact that batteries have a life span. In my experience, after owning a controller for a long period of time, let's say 2 years, I would end up leaving the controller plugged in indefinitely. That is, if there's no stick drift. I'm liking this particular controller because it's wired and from the looks of it if there is stick drift, you can just purchase another stick to replace the one with the drift. What type of a warranty does this controller have? Does it cover stick drift? How long does it last before stick drift kicks in? How good is the durability?

These controllers are excellent. The moduler design is awesome and is beneficial if you get stick drift and they need replacing. For PC players this has better input latency than both the Series and Series Elite controllers which are limited by their polling rate, speaking of which on PC you actually overclock the polling rates to achieve even better latency

    This controller but wireless.
More custom sticks/notches for the stick etc.
I want a controller i can play Melee to FPS games on, just swap the sticks and you'll be done.
It's such an amazing idea with great potential, but lacks the creativity and support for multi console usage.
This could have been the best controller ever to be released, but the lack of wireless features, customizable parts available, back botton triggers, different stick textures and notches really dampens the reason to buy one.
Sure it would be nice to have one controller for 3D and 2D games to swap the D-pad and stick.
But this controller is like $200 in most european countries. I can buy a brand new Playstation and Xbox controller for cheaper than that.
So even tho this controller is smart and all, it costs outweigh it's CURRENT potential.

U can use the same application that u use to button map ur Elite controller. It works the exact same way.

This controller better than junk Xbox elite series 2 controller and other Xbox controllers because thrustmaster eswap controller can be overclocked to 800hz which is really good unlike trash Xbox controllers because Xbox controllers are not overclockable when its comes to competitive gaming standard ps4 and ps5 controllers are the best because they can be overclocked to 1000hz means 1ms response time just like mouse

i just bought one of these a few days ago and for some reason when i press the profile buttons it does nothing it wont switch between 1 and 2 i have to go into the program and change my preset that i want to profile 1 i can alter profile 2 in the program and the light on the controller changes when doing that but as soon as i leave the program the controller changes to profile one and wont change i thought it might be broken buttons but the remap button inbetween the two profile buttons works perfectly fine does anyone have any ideas for me please

okay to be honest I'm not trying to s*** on this guy but he really pissed me off with this review okay all I needed to know was whether the face buttons ABX and y are mechanical keyboard like buttons he said that they were really clicky which I assume he means they're mechanical but he didn't say outright so now I have to do more research...

    • @PowBamZing
      @PowBamZing 3 ปีที่แล้ว

After checking the product website, it doesn't look as if even they specify whether or not they are actually mechanical or simply clicky-feeling. They do advertise that the controller buttons have a "clear-click feeling." And "gaming mouse level precision."
