I agree shoulda jus did shallow packout with foam insert. Milwaukee and dewalt shouldnt even bother with power tool cases that arent toughsystem 2.0 or packout anymore
Finally, FINALLY a hard case for a cordless recip saw. For some reason, the corded models have only had the luxury of a hard case. 🤷♂️ That quick release is a MAJOR improvement, as well. Thanks TRZ and God bless! 😁👍

I have the previous version of this saw, and the Super Sawzall, and the Makita JZ05 version. They are all probably best in class, but I was able to score the tool only version of the Makita for like $105 online. Pair that with a pair of 5 ah batteries , charger and bag hack at the Depot and it's less than $200 for the entire shebang! Best value out there for sure. The Milwaukee Super Sawzall is no doubt the king of the hill but it's heavy as hell and puts a much bigger dent in your wallet. I'm dying to see this tool in a head to head against the Makita but after seeing the price of this new sawzall it will be a while before I have this one in my van. Oh yeah, while I like the blow molded cases too, I'm not a big fan cause you can't stack then up without sliding around in the van like it's a car with bald tires on ice during a rain storm! At least with a packout case, you can lock it in place so it don't go for a ride while you're driving around between jobs. For the money they want for this a packout case should be included no doubt.

Ok, just curious, I’ve compared stats between the super sawzall and this one since the stats were released. Where’s the extra power coming from with the stats being the same? Unless I’m an idiot and missed it
The differences is strokes per minute under load. I used a bunch of different Sawzalls. The 36V Makita, Dewalt Flex the Bosch GSA 32 and the Super Sawzall stay very true under load. The Gen1 Sawzall not so much. Looks like they managed it to improve that it keeps now close to its max under load.
Can anyone provide me with the part number for the hard case for this 2821 sawzall? I just picked one up tool only and I want to buy a hard case. Also will this case accommodate a 12ah battery? Thank you!
Hope their blade release design is fixed. It used to have a plastic inner collar which failed on mine (gets jammed and you can't release a blade). Milwaukee fixed my tool on warranty but it of course still has the same design flaw just a new plastic collar. When you're the king of reciprocal saws and literally made the first sawzall - bit embarrassing to have a crippling design flaw like that.
??? My gen 1 m18 fuel sawzall has a quick release blade with the spring loaded handle behind the end without having to go into the blade/shoe area. ?? Now it does not have the adjustable shoe, but that is it. j
I actually really hate the quick release, it gets full of shit and then you can never change the blades. I prefer the traditional style of blade change for that reason it is a bit more fidly but seem to be better for longevity. In my opinion these recipros just don’t last that long either in the 4 years I’ve owned mine I’ve averaged 1 a year all replaced under warranty.

Do you think when Milwaukee releases a tool and it comes in the hard case that it should be pack out accessible even if you had to pay a couple of dollars more just because a lot of these hard cases are already molded for the tool I just think it would be smart just to make them more expensive tools fit the pack out😎✌🇺🇸
The super Sawzall is a beast, and has orbital action just like king mentioned. That said, this is much lighter and fits the hand better. Would be ideal for working above the head
The weight of the comparative Makita saw, plus the much lower price of the Makita saw, makes me think I'll skip this version. Let's see this thing in a head to head against the Makita JZ05. I think the specs are very close between them including the weight. But the Makita is a much better value.
I wish more companies would include the adjustable shoe. Its such a handy feature for so many things

Needed an update. Reason why it doesn’t have orbital is because the super sawzall wouldn’t be justified to be purchased.
Only thing new is how the battery attaches to the tool. There was a big problem with the battery vibrating out on last model.
