Mr.Hainbach, i work in a long, narrow shop. Behind the counter i have one speaker thats above and close behind me and the other speaker is at the other end of my shop 15ft away pointing at me. This recording, especially the first track , sounded magical. sweeping away from me and slowly washing back over and behind me. It was a very strange auditory feeling i have never experienced before.. i feel cleansed, my soul thanks you. May you and your family have a good day. Thank you for your time
@Dirk-Ulrich Heise : what a wonderful explanation! the best i can put it , something different was definitely happening , lots of "washing/sweeping" sounds and feelings which makes sense now that i have read the science behind it.. It was a genuinely new experience for me. it was raining too when i listened to it which added to it all, the only way i can describe it is "positive sadness".everything i was feeling ,my bad mood and anxiety over the day, was washed away. It reset me.
i envy your ability to let things be. i'd propably use 80% of this as samples, chop it up, build a bassline and beat to it, arrange it and, in a lot of cases, overthink it. you're making the bold move to just let its minimalism breathe. loving it!
I was going to comment that myself. Then I saw your post.. For me It's an ethereal, ambient feel that gives a spaciousness that is just so easy on the ears. Good on ya Hainbach! Feel free to make more of this anytime you like!! I love it.
So lovely. Such a relief as well for me having listened to five hours of Hate Loops this week! I enjoy the textures you have in your music. The Ambient Piano Works album is one of my favourites and has got me through some tough days at work this summer. Can’t wait to see you in Coventry in a week or so! Nice Gestures! 🤣😁👍👊
Love this release so much HAINBACH. Criminally smooth and calming to listen to. The pace is ocean wave like - constant yet always changing. And the textures are simply intoxicating. It's a rare type of ambient classic for me ♥
I wish I could own this on vinyl! I always come back to this album its such a masterpiece for me! Thank you Hainbach for what you share with the world.
I love the performing side of your compositions. Mixing this physical approach with the more conceptual side of electronic music is a really good way of exploring both fields.
Beautifully performed and very blissful yet dreary to my ears. Just bought a Sony WM-2 as well, can't wait to listen to it when both my tape version and my new Walkman come in the mail! 😊
Listening to this as a begin reorganizing my studio. Have a Marantz unit with three tape heads coming in this week and found a four track with an aux send. Excited to try some tape delay soon. And as I mentioned to you on IG, purchasing this soon. It’s as good as I imagined it.
Thank you for sharing how you made this record and also for releasing on cassette! Though I missed my chance, I do love seeing new releases in this format. I find Gestures quite soothing and healing to the ear and mind. I look forward to your next release, Hainbach.
Hi there, thank you so much for doing this set. I have had an awful week where I have struggled to get anything done, I put this on and everything just fell into place. You are awesome. Thank you 😃😃😃
This has been great to listen to in the background while I sort out and photograph audio gear to sell on eBay --> In order to buy other audio gear on eBay... the circle continues.
Dry and dusty like an abandoned library, full of old secrets and half truths. - Im gonna sample the shit out of this on my Morphagene. Thanks for sharing your art, Hainbach.
This is just what I needed. I think this is the first album I've ever heard all the way through that don't have any drums in it. I'd love to know more about the modules if you don't already have videoes about this setup on you'r channel. I will go an have a look now
Love to hear what you recommend for a person wishing to enter the modular world and which semi modular synth you would recommend or say to do full modular? And which ...
I have struggled a lot with this question to. I would recommend going semi modular first. Synths like the Mother 32 can be used in a fully modular way later on, anyways. Messing around with a semimodular and understanding it will then automatically tell you which modules to buy. Maybe you will even decide that the whole analog thing isnt worth it for you. Could well be. You´d be surprised how much post production is need to actually make analog synths fit into a full song. If you want to hear some sound examples "from the real world" ALL the synth sounds in the songs of my channel were done with either Mother32 and/or Behringer Model D. NOTHING ELSE. (except plugins for mixing of course) I´m pretty damn 99.999% sure that the company pittsburgh had a semimodular synthesizer, that basically had the exact same features as the mother32 by moog BUT 2 OSCILLATORS INSTEAD OF JUST ONE. I just cant find it right now. But the thing was priced at around 600 Euros (like the mother) and i can remember thinking: holy shit, thats what I should have bought instead. I just cant find it right now. You really should look for that.
I wished I had the same equipment for my music. I struggle around with only one Mother32 and a Behringer Model D. Your Videos are always a great inspiration for new sounds to find or explore though. Keep up the good work.
It's not about the equipment, my friend. You have great tools at hand. I had to buy vintage stuff to get analog sounds when I started out 25 years ago. It's about pain, communication and exploration for me. The rest is tools.
@@Hainbach Could you probably make a video some day about how you get those super vintage instruments? Like the sadest drone machine? I mean that thing isnt even an instrument, so how do you know that you´re going to be able to get musical output from it? A video about the physics behind all of it would be great. You could even do it in german. Actually weiß ich nicht wieso ich das hier gerade auf englisch geschrieben habe. Herrgott...
Before bootleg "Hainbach_gestures_fullalbumrip_hq" videos pop up, here is the entirety of my new album as I performed and recorded it.
HAINBACH that’s the Deerhorn right? Loving it ❤️
Yes! Beautiful instrument, got a full video on it
HAINBACH it’s incredible!! One of these days I’ll have to buy one.... but it’s not available in Europe right?
HAINBACH Bandcamp?
50 I was thinking of the Deerhorn. The music is beautiful too, I’ll listen to it alot!! 👍🏻👍🏻

The only thing I missed about this video was hearing your intro. Gorgeous stuff!

I totally see this becoming an electronic/ambient classic
I just listened to this while sitting in a car wash. Perfect accompaniment- “Music for Carwashes”. Beautiful work as always!
Lol sitting in the car wash as I type this.
using his hands to control eq is probably the most effective, emotional, human way of curating. wow
Wow. Why does the softest music hit the hardest? Just beautiful, thank Hainbach!
Like the journey of a photon via the camera obscura - you allow the electronic sound waves to simply be. Marvellous channel. Thank you Hainbach !
Eno, James and Hainbach the greats !
Beautiful! Well done, reminds me of the early Eno pieces
I thought the same thing

Hi Hainbach. Wonderful to see you play another ciat lombarde instrument so well. The most musical video I have seen playing these ever.
This is not music, this is magic.
This is gorgeous work. The opening colors and textures makes me feel as though I'm standing between the ocean's shore and a dense, foggy forest.
It's absolutely beautiful. You have such talent, my good sir.
Thanks Hainbach. Wonderful music. Your method is original and your efforts are inspiring. The love you have for your craft always shows.

It always makes my day better when I see that you uploaded a new video. Love your work!
It's rare I stumble onto a video I didn't intend to watch and 15 minutes pass by and I haven't changed it. Really nice music

Elegant resonant movement! Respect!

full album performances are just brilliant!
Reminds me of Silver Mt. Zion in the intro.
Great music as always!
This is great so far, I love that you've given us this live performance. Gonna show some friends later
You've created something really unique and beautiful here. Thank you! Stay safe.
